Great place to stay with reasonable rates (for Golden anyway), front desk clerk was very friendly and actually provided me with the perks due to me for being a loyalty member. This hardly ever happens unless you ask. Nice room upgrade with a mountain view. Complimentary breakfast starts at 630 so if you are hoping to hit the road early, you will be out of luck. 50's style diner across the street and a Tim Horton's across from that.
We checked in late, and left early, but the time we were at the hotel was great. We made a last minute booking online and had no problem at check in. The staff was friendly and helpful. Room was great and most importantly, the beds and pillows were very comfortable - and led to an excellent sleep :) We did not have time to explore the amenities, but did have the breakfast in the morning. It was good.
Highly recommend. Have stayed at other places in Golden and this if definitely #1. What you would expect from the large chain. Big clean rooms, quite. Nice pool area, and the breakfast is great. Will definitely not make the mistake again of staying elsewhere in Golden.
This was a one night overnight as we passed through Golden. We usually pick a Holiday Inn Express for a quick stop as they always deliver the regular basic expectations: Average service, decent room that's clean and moderately comfortable, breakfast included. This is pretty no frills, but it covered all the expectations.
We booked this hotel because its was a convenient stop from Banff on Our way to Whistler. Clean modern and up to date, not a lot to do in Golden or places to eat. We walked across the street to Legendz and being a diner we didnt walk away hungry. Seems the hotel is a stop and stay over for tour buses. so breakfast in the morning was busy If you are passing through it will serve your needs.
We had booked a room at a so called "boutique hotel" called the River to Peaks which sounded great but on arrival in Golden was nothing more than a private home masquerading as a hotel!! The woman host expected us to be impressed with this arrangement when we in fact felt duped. Big misrepresentation on Tripadvisor on this one (she wanted $150 per night for a B and B) and she put through the charges on my credit card before we even arrived! No way to tell Tripadvisor as I discovered you cannot communicate with Tripadvisor at all, either via email or phone?! So, we had to drive around at 6:00 in the evening after many hours of driving to find a room for the night. We went to the Holiday Inn Express and were not disappointed. This clean, new hotel was very welcoming and had a room with a king sized bed and then offered us an upgrade to a king suite which we accepted as we were staying for two nights. Very comfortable stay with everything we needed and breakfast included. Thank goodness for this hotel that is actually a hotel!!
Made a mistake with booking. Alerted hotel 1 hour later. Hotel flatly refused to help. Holiday Inn Express call centre were genuinely surprised that hotel refused to help. Help centre said this wasn't common to refuse to help for an 1 hour old booking. Could be more helpful.
I don't think that I have ever had to write a bad review for a Holiday Inn and this hotel was no exception. Very clean room and everything works in the room. Good Wifi, fridge and microwave. Due to an accident on Canada Highway 1, the road between Revelstoke and Golden was closed for over 2 hours. When I arrived late at the hotel, the kind lady at the front desk was very accommodating and friendly. Enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again.
Was in Golden on business for 3 days. Hotel was clean, well kept and even overheard a couple of gents in the elevator comment on how nice it smelled. Staff was very friendly, room was very spacious, thrilled to have a microwave and a fridge in the room. Pool, charging for electric car, I think likely the newest hotel in town and breakfast looked good (just ate fresh fruit myself). Would definitely recommend and pricing was great.
Stayed here for one night as a stop over en-route to Vancouver. Hotel staff great. Spotlessly clean and good value. No bar or restaurant on site, but quite a few eating places near by, so no real problem. They do however provide a cooked breakfast which was really good. Excellent place to stay and would highly recommend.
