Rooms were excellent, conference facilities first rate, view spectacular, lunch buffet superb. Service exemplary. What more can I say, very good couple of days at the conference and well done to all the staff at Sheraton mirage.
It is a huge place so if you cannot walk an awful lot be prepared as access to the main reception and dining area takes time to get to The staff on all levels were excellent and helpful breakfast in the morning chaos due to the throng of people however the staff in this section again were extremely pleasant access to the beach a few minutes away all in all not too bad
We recently stayed here with our two children (6 and 2). We had a great ground floor room that opened up onto the garden on the southern side of the resort. The resort location is great, out of the hustle and bustle but enough restaurants and cafes close by to keep everyone happy. The pool is great and the beach directly out the front is patrolled by a lifeguard which is perfect for the children. We had the best 4 days here, it was our second visit and we will definitely be back.
The accomodation is amazing and the facilities were great but the customer service and rules make it very difficult for me to offer 5 star. We had a group of over 200 people booking at least 100 rooms but they had 1 server and 1 waitress at the pool bar on a beautiful 28° day. Each drink order took over 25 minutes to get to us and this was for beers out of a bottle. The pool bar shut down by 3pm which was a huge disappointment for the 30-40 people that were poolside. The gala dinner was so tiny and bland and not in line with a 5 star venue. The lack of flexibility in their rules may help with their reputation but will certainly result in loss of profits.
For value for money this is not the one, the building and room is old and unloved. However the gardens are beautiful and the reception area is renovated beautifully but obviously you don’t spend much time there. Check in process left a lot to be desired. We were told we would be getting an upgrade then on entering we were very underwhelmed so I checked my booking room specs and it definitely wasn’t an upgrade so that set us up for disappointment. But must say we enjoyed the location with the beach one side and shopping options on the other side. And we enjoyed being off the main busy strip as we had a hire car so the location for us was its biggest asset. Breakfast was good but not amazing, coffee wasn’t so good so we would get coffee from Providore across at the marina each morning. The bathroom was very under whelming the room was a decent size but could do with some TLC for the price you pay. So for me it was all about location this time.
Stayed for 8 nights in a double room which consisted of two double beds. Decided for this long as family of four really need apartment type room to have space. Room was clean, quiet, beds get turned down each night. Resort itself is beautiful. Grounds well manicured. Pool area gets very busy and getting a pool lounge during school holidays can be tricky. Pool staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and the service around the pool was slow. On site restaurants are not cheap but across the road connected by a footbridge is the marina mirage complex. Bakery as well as numerous restaurants to eat at with gorgeous views over the marina. Location great if you want to be out of Surfers Paradise. About a 4km walk. Has its own patrolled beachfront. Very close to Sea World. Would stay again and definitely geared for families
I have been lucky enough to have been staying at this property now for the last 20 years and it never fails to surprise to the upside. I still remember fondly reading about this property in the old NRMA holiday guide back when I was a young boy thinking how amazing it would be to stay there one day.. years later I fell in love with the place from the onset since I first stepped into that spectacular lobby way back when. The location is the finest on the Gold Coast being located directly on the beach. The wonderful pool. The huge grounds with lovely gardens. The recently updated rooms. The delicious cuisine. The lovely staff. The fantastic value for money.. There are numerous reasons to stay here. In my 20+ visits to this property I cannot recall one single bad experience and always leave with a big smile on my face and my batteries recharged. Mark Sexton who is the long time serving GM is a class act and always ensures your stay is a memorable one, always at your beck and call, eager to cater to every want, wish, need or desire. Honestly, The Mirage always has been and always will be the epitome of first class hospitality, lodging and cuisine on the Gold Coast. Once you check in you will not want to leave, even though world class restaurants, beaches and attractions beckon at the door step. Do yourself a favor and check in for a few nights to see what all the fuss is about. The longevity and constant high levels of Service of the Sheraton are a testament to this well regarded stalwart, Its arguably Australia's finest Resort located on its most famous strip of sand.
Being able to walk out of you room and be in the surf in under 10 mins on a virtually private beach with it's own life savers and far away from the usual tourists ... is worth every cent. What a location.
The location has the advantage of nice weather the most part of the year. You can enjoy the ocean as well as the swimming pools. Rooms are large, well furnished, clean, comfortable. Food good. Wi fi gratis, works well. Employees kind and useful. If you need a taxi to or from the Brisbane airport, be prepared to get a much lighter wallet after, as prices are absurdly high! A minus in the hotel itself: the air conditioning is regulated so that you are frequently almost frozen...
The best thing about the Sheraton was the staff. They were just lovely; always welcoming, polite, friendly, and so on. The room was huge, as was the bed, which was comfy. The pillows were too soft and squishy and the bottom sheet was too small for the size of the bed! I am not sure it we could ask for different pillows; I wish I had asked. The room we were in was street-side and the noise of the traffic, people walking along the sidewalk, and other streetscape noises kept us awake, once asleep woke us up, and was generally annoying. We could also hear people in the hallway, which intruded on our rest. The AC was very noisy and it was difficult to set the temp, fan speed. In the end we had to just turn it off. It was not easy to get to and from our room, having to walk up and down hallways and stairways. I did like that the doors to the hallways opened automatically. It was confusing getting to and from reception to ... anywhere within the complex. I really, really dislike the noise in the reception area. The waterfall, although nice, created such a huge noise that it made being in that area very uncomfortable, especially for someone with a hearing problem. There was no information in the room about the amenities, how to access the amenities, what was available for guests to use, etc. I doubt we would ever stay here again. For us, it was not worth the cost.
