Very Versace. Over the top decorations abound. We booked a Luxury Escape for a family celebration and enjoyed our time here. Very nice room (King Suite but better view than a Superior Room) overlooking the pool where we experienced first hand (well, through the windows) an unusual wedding ceremony. The seafood buffet was quite extensive and we enjoyed our wine from the very well stocked upmarket restaurant - no request seemed too much for all staff we encountered. For a little bit of luxury, I would recommend this accommodation, especially for the friendly and helpful staff, but make sure you are looking over the pool area - the other way is the Sheraton or a shopping mall!

This is consistently a luxurious and enjoyable stay. Our most recent stay here was for part of our honeymoon and the staff were wonderful and arranged a nice surprise for us. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the spa a very nice touch.

For a hotel that thinks its the best they let themselves down with, of all things, coffee. In room coffee comes in a sachet (yes really) and coffee in the restaurant tastes cheap and nasty. Also, our booking came with free drinks. One would assume house wine or beer? No, not even. Just a mocktail. Seriously? Add to that they charged us twice for the room and put us into overdraft as a result. My tip - stick to Sheraton across the street, Marriott or Hilton. They at least know how to make coffee and any free drinks are not fake.

My husband and I stayed here recently for our honeymoon and it was fabulous. We have stayed at this hotel on multiple occasions and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice break. The rooms are luxurious and the facilities are also great. Breakfast was included and the options were plenty. Thank you versace for helping make our honeymoon special!

I read the reviews the night before we were due to arrive and became very nervous. I needn’t have worried. We had booked the Luxury Escape deal for 2 adults and our 4 year old. The staff were friendly, the room very comfortable (although the superior suites have terrible views). We felt very relaxed the entire visit. The downsides: the pool was very cold. The staff by the pool are not forthcoming. You have to ask for towels from them as they group together in the staff section. No one brings out a menu, again you have to ask. The dinner buffet was not as good previous visits. We did go on a Thursday night so maybe that makes a difference? All in all a great stay and we will return

Just recently returned for a 3 nights stay in a Superior Room in the ground floor facing Sheraton Grand right next to the main entry. Very welcoming Guest Relations - Check-in in just a matter of five minutes, how good is that ? It’s reminiscing— from our previous stays, it’s perfect in every thing, the bed sheets are changed everyday, the designer toiletries , so with towels are always replenished all the time! Little things from what’s d weather tomorrow? there’s a flyer, and a small box of chocolates every night. Included in our Hotel packaged is Buffet Breakfast everyday, it’s heavenly ! couldn’t find any single issue for complaint. All the Staff at IL BAROCCO, are truly the best, service with a smile, so polite, friendly, and they think outside the box, willing and able to offer the best, my special accolades to FHEY and VADIM, such a superior and outstanding customer service, we were treated as valued Hotel Guests. We’re so happy and elated with our wonderful beautiful stay, feeling on top of the world.

I recently returned from a 7 night stay with my husband and 3 year old child and stayed on level 3 in a superior suite. This room faced SeaWorld drive and was ridiculously noisy, no sound proof windows! Having visited twice before once 16 years ago and the second time 13 years ago I was very much looking forward to a week of indulgence that I had been fortunate to have experienced previously, but this visit couldn't have presented a more different affair. How this hotel is still rated as 5 star is mind boggling to say the very least. The not so 5 star experience began the moment we arrived when a private car organised by the hotel smelt of cigarette smoke, no water was offered during our trip from the airport (at $170 one way transfer one would expect at least some water) and doors weren't even opened by porters, in fact not a porter was insight on arrival. The rooms and hotel overall are in desperate need of some maintenance, a good scrub, international hotel customer service training and present management. At over $600 a night I expect not to see rotted skirtings in bathrooms, chipped doors and paint, months of dust build up under furniture and light fixtures, hot/cold symbols fallen off and not replaced in the shower, phone in living room not working, cracked class in picture frames in hallways, worn and tatty carpets that our child continously tripped on, stained couches, broken pot plants by the pool, Tiles falling off the pools near the condos facing the marina and a lift that never worked during our entire stay resulting in lengthy delays. For guest staying for extended periods a courtesy bottle of sparkling or a fruit basket of sorts to apologise for the inconvenience caused by the broken lift on their side of the building wouldn't have gone astray. All this can be overlooked to a degree but when poor service and overcrowding that cannot be managed efficiently is added into the mix then the experienced is tainted even further. How is it acceptable to; - have lengthy lines queuing for breakfast, if you are not able to service full capacity then perhaps book 30 rooms less or better still don't cheapen the hotel by offering discount packages - waiting 45 minutes over the weekend for a coffee and having to walk up to the coffee machine to grab it yourself in the end is appalling - having to continuously call out for service by the pool at at Le jardin became somewhat comical as the staff members would simply walk passed you without acknowledgemt - charging 8 dollars plus gst for an espresso that was not accompanied by a biscotti (only once on a Saturday night) please note that drinks at Le jardin are only occasionally accompanied by nuts etc. and of course are ridiculously priced - in room dining never answering calls and having to ring through reception - our booking was for three people we were forever having to call housekeeping for a third towel - returning to ones room On more than one occasion late arvo with the room still not made up and floors never cleaned during entire stay - having to call for our luggage that was not waiting in our room onced we were checked in - no one escorting you to your room to to give you a run down as we've become accustomed to at other hotels - no more outdoor dining available as space taken up by overpriced cabanas - overcrowding by the pool not allowing for and privacy for god sake people had to resort to towels on the floor! - allowing guests to roam the lobby in swimwear and alcohol purchased not from the premises is not acceptable for the apparent calibre of the hotel, where is the policing of such distastefulness At checkout we very politely mentioned our disappointment to a very empathic team member that assured me I would be sent an email to voice my concerns that I am yet to receive. We will most likely not return, I am not a fan of sitting by on overcrowded pool in a tired looking hotel hearing of the amazing discounts this hotel has given away via luxury escapes (kudos to those that snapped up a bargain as only a bargain price can justify the blow) when I am paying up to 4 times the amount with no freebies thrown in as the case with the discount packages and receiving poor service levels by ill guided staff that cannot manage the influx generated by the discount bookings and conferences. So sad to see it deteriote from its once grandness. If we returned the GC will most likely try the Marriott or the Jewell when it opens in late 2019, PV is hardly worth the money.

Stayed for six days and the service was top notch. Check in was fast and efficient and the guest service manager Hari ensured our welcome and stay was the best it could be. The staff were excellent from Chris and Angela at breakfast to all the staff at Vanitas the fine dining Italian restaurant. Gavin on the dock, valeting the car, was another highlight of our return visit.

Hubby surprised me for our wedding anniversary. Hotel was fantastic as was the staff. The breakfast buffet was great with something for everyone. The seafood dinner buffet was fabulous - you will not be disappointed. Definately recommend this great hotel!!!

Oh my god - what a joke of a service from the door staff, no luggage taken, disinterested door staff, breakfast had to wait 20 mins for coffee every day, room never made up on time and turndown missed every day but one. Whoever is making decisions on staffing levels and training doesn’t know how to run a 5* hotel and will end up either bankrupting the place or having to resort to lowering rates and accepting cheap tour groups. Get some proper staff, train them properly and incentivise them to keep guests happy.
