Friendly Efficient Front Desk staff , were a good introduction to this Italian Designer named Hotel , the Lobby Floor must have cost in excess of a Million $ minimum Like a Wealthy Romans Villa , unusual to see a NEW one , The Pool is a background to this space which is a little " off putting " when you are in the pool , realizing you are on show for all and sundry in said elaborate lobby .That said , the Room was adequate enough , not large by any means , nice bathroom , generally you felt like this was a sort of special place , but for a beach , relaxed holiday , I would stay in future at Sheraton across the road , Right on the Beach , and you walk to your room without needing to change first , due to the " beautifull people " cruising the lobby
We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights beautiful hotel great service by staff especially one staff at the desk his name was Raj very helpful kind and great customer service. Food good breakast really nice. On new years eve enjoyed the entertainment but band was not that good. There was no countdown done as we neared 12am no excitement that its midnight new year - thought it should be a highlight as it's new year. But otherwise all good. Thanks Naresh for always showing us your customer service if there was anything else he could do for us. All staff great and professional. The Resturant had great food. I will recommend to my family and friends Location is great
Stayed in the hotel specifically for my partners birthday. Arrived half an hour before check in and was not even allowed to go and sit by the pool which I thought was a joke at first but turned out to be reality. Hotel is now older but still nice to look at. Had the best risotto I've ever had at the marina Versace restaurant
Stayed at this hotel from 2-5 January with our 16yr old son. We got a deal on Bookiing.com (still not cheap at $1700 for 3 nights) and although we usually prefer a Sheraton, decided to try the Palazzo. The foyer is lovely. Check-in was seamless but our room was at the far end of the bottom floor and overlooked/overheard the fish and chip shop in the next street! The room itself was lovely; bathroom was the best feature. We had 2 comfortable double beds and had to ask for extra pillows as there was only 2 per bed. Maid service was excellent but they did forget to replace the milk. The whole place was too crowded. On our first day we were up early 7am.. for a swim..... and the sun beds were all essentially taken with towels and hats. When I enquired about the policy for the sunbeds, I was told they were checked every 20 minutes and then the towels were collected if no one was there. So, we had our breakfast (beautiful albeit very crowded...we had to line up for a table) in shifts only to discover that the towels were not collected and whole families of people reserved beds (even in the adult area) for their children for hours with no one on them. Management needs to decide on a policy and stick to it. There are not anywhere near enough beds for the number of people and there were several annoyed adults who were paying $600+ per night only to be relegated to a seat or a bean bag or the ground often without a view of the pool. There are several 2 person Cabanas to rent starting form an extra $300 per day. There are annoying towel tickets where you have to hand in an ticket to collect a towel and then return the towel to resume the ticket which must be returned at check-out.....all a bit of a pest really considering the room price. The service in the bar area was a little slow. The restaurant is essentially in the foyer and many tables are in the corridor leading to the pool and/or the walk way to the Marina. These tables are poorly placed with no privacy - if you book the popular seafood buffet try to avoid these corridor tables. This hotel is too congested for me. Wi-Fi is NOT free but parking is. I would not return.
The lobby is lovely but when you look at the ceiling they have black watermarks showing that they in desperate need of a refurb. Went there for a high tea with group of friends, expecting a good service from a place that called themselves 5 stars hotel, but what we got was a horrendous service! When we asked questions, the waiter call (Suresh/Naresh) said : "Did you read the menu?" and made a very rude comment by saying :"This is the normal hightea - where English people normally do". We were in absolute shock with the comment! We should have walked out after that comment - but we try to be positive and stayed. It was the worst decision, because nothing went right afterwards. Food amounts were inconsistent - missing dishes on the plate, the food and drinks take forever to came to our table. The tea pot were made of metal and that turns really hot when you hold them. And seems they only responds to the good comment and ignore all the bad comment! Shame!
A beautiful Hotel with friendly staff but the service was very slow especially at breakfast when ordering a pot of tea but the buffet breakfast was great and such a wide choice of food to choose from. Beds comfortable and room spotless. Sun loungers by the pool area very scarce as not enough available to deal with the demand of guests which I feel is not acceptable for a five star Hotel. There are plenty of empty cabana beds to rent and I guess that is want they would like to get their guests to do (the extra add ons)....
Versace hotel is the only one in the world therefore there should be excellent service . As a local we have often gone to the hotel . Every time we go the service is shocking plus they have no idea how to make cocktails ... we have given up on complaining as they don’t do anything to improve the service . We have always gone to New Years nite party as I would say it’s the best on the Gold Coast . This year 2017 we were unable to go. But decided to call in on our way home to wish some friends that were there happy new year ... we went to the car park and on our way in pressed the button .,a girl answered that I could hardly understand I told her I was visiting a friend she hang up again I preceded to ask she hung up . I could not beleave the reception we recievered. We still managed to get in to find the party was over band packed up . 1.00 . What has happened to Versace.. a nite of celebration that used to go till 3.00 . Shame I am so over the place now .. our friends booked the penthouse and said never again . The week they were there . They had to complain the whole time .
Hotel prominence meets you as you arrive. Check-in experience was not good; however, everything was exceptional from there on in. Naresh personally changed our experience. Plus Cindy & Julie Ann and so many additional members of the staff. The pool and spa facilities are exceptional. The late afternoon & evening piano entertainment by Cassidy Wilson was superb. He just enhanced the entire atmosphere. It was a delight.
Greeted at the front door... nice. Any number of waiters/waitresses vying to action our request(s)... nice. Service impeccable and a credit to the employed staff. The restaurant, however, is a different experience... Asians have the privilege of occupying the immediate restaurant area. All other cultures eat in an ancillary extension off the main foyer. Our champagne preceded our arrival at the table, though it was not in a stable bucket or stand. The soup was lovely, but barely warm. The spicy lamb entree was to die for (the 5-star component of the meal). The mains were wanting in excellence... Pork was dry, tough and chewy. No green vegetables on offer! And, no gravy! A lovely selection of desserts. My dining experiences have been that Asian chefs do not incorporate green vegetables into their meal options. I am European... meals look pale and flat with only potatoes - maybe pumpkin or stirfry to add... but to a roast? Sorry, Versace, I think 5-star service, but only 3-star dining and one Hell of a price to pay for that!
I had booked a High Tea for my daughters and I as a Christmas holiday treat. We are from the UK and have been lucky enough to have experienced High Teas at the Dorchester and the Lanesborough in London. As the Palazzo Versace is billed as a 5 star hotel I presumed we could expect the same level of service. Unfortunately this was not the case! There was no doorman or greeter when we arrived so we were left to wander around ourselves to find the restaurant. (The blue decorated Christmas trees were striking and helped fill the large reception area). When we did locate it we were left waiting whilst 2 separate staff searched for my booking. The Jardin restaurant is pleasant enough done out in pink and gold. We were offered sparking wine and chilled water whilst we read through the menu. The staff themselves were courteous and helpful. There just wasn’t enough of them. The food arrived on a pretty cake stand. It was delightful. Finger sandwiches of cucumber and salmon and curried egg. There was also a curried egg quiche, a caramelised onion and cheddar pinwheel and a crab tart. The scones were light and fluffy and the cakes were an orange choux bun, a pink coconut fruit tart, a chocolate gateau, a pink macaroon, a lemon popsicle, and a lime creation that was my favourite. Unfortunately the tables around us weren’t cleared and people on surrounding tables were having to wave to attract attention. The bar area became cluttered with dirty plates and glasses. A family opposite us ordered food from the main restaurant which was delivered by a manager. However he then made 3 separate visits to deliver previously requested cutlery and plates. As we left a pianist started playing which sounded lovely. Reading through other reviews the over riding theme is lack of staff and attention to detail. After our visit these are my thoughts too. A shame as we had such high hopes. A 5 star hotel it sadly isn’t at present.
