Although I was concerned that we had been moved to an apartment in the south tower after booking one in the north tower, I needn't have been. Apartment 42 on the 11th floor of the south tower is amazing. It has just been beautifully renovated and everything was spotlessly clean. The apartment had everything we needed and more. The bed was comfortable, the ensuite enormous, and the view was incredible. If you are after a two bedroom apartment in Gemini Court, I can highly recommend apartment 42.
I have been a loyal return guest to Gemini Court Apartment at Burleigh Heads in Queensland for some years now. The views from these north facing apartments are spectacular and I have posted a photo to support this fact. I do not think you can match this view anywhere on the Gold Coast. The main public areas of this apartment complex have been recently refurbished beautifully. . This is the first time I have had to report a less than favourable report on an apartment at Gemini Apartments. Apartment 113 as indicated in the attached photos is less than satisfactory considering the weekly charge of $1,600 for the stay. The carpet is very old, worn, rippled and feels hard under the feet. Perhaps the ripples in the carpet, as revealed in the attached photos, might reflect the ocean feel? :-). The furnishings are either second hand, or very old, and the dining tables and chairs are worn and rusted. I would be embarrassed to invite anyone for dinner and sit at this dining table. In the ensuite one of the two vanity basins was missing a plug mechanism and thus could not be used. The second vanity basin I used, the plug mechanism did not work and I could not empty the basin. I had to call reception for them to remedy the situation. The ensuite tiolet flush buttons were faulty, but at least it flushed. The Squee Gee Mop had no sponge attached, therefore I could not mop the floors, the clothes dryers lint filter was broken and I had to remove it prior to drying my clothes as it always dislodged and caused an almighty noise whilst being tossed around in the dryer amongst the clothes. The kitchen appliances were cheap and there were minimal. The cutting knives supplied were cheap and blunt and I had to saw through my rump steak with great force when preparing a beef stroganoff. . This apartment has damaged the brand name of Gemini Court Apartments. If the owner expects this apartment to be rented for a premium payment of $1600 a week in a low season, than they need to provide a better product, I will NEVER come back to this apartment, and I am very upset the management at Gemini Court Apartments that they placed a loyal repeat guest so poorly by placing me in such a poor apartment. The owner of this apartment should consider addressing the issues raised in this review should they wish it to be rented in the future. In the meantime, I would advise any potential guests who may be thinking of booking an apartment at this beautiful holiday apartment complex, to avoid this particular apartment. . I hope the management at Gemini Court Apartments forward the information contained within this review onto the owner of this apartment for the purpose of allowing them to address the issues raised.
We had a week here and loved our stay. Even though we were on a lower level it had a fantastic view of Burleigh and the Gold Coast. It also meant our car was on our level which was very handy. Staff were very accommodating when we had a son come to stay, even though it was only 1 bedroom there was plenty of room for him on the rollout they supplied. Don't forget your tennis racket it is shaded in the afternoons and there was plenty of availability even though we were there in school holidays. The beach was gorgeous and we really enjoyed the walks around the National Park. Our biggest problem was where to eat at night! So many cafes and restaurants are hidden away. Reception supplies a list but we found a great one with music in an Alley and Rabbath was brilliant.
I have stayed at Gemini several times before but this experience was terrible. I always ensure to book a superior room but this room was terrible. The bed was broken and mattress stained, walls and doorways where so dusty as where the "fake" plants. To top it off on our checkout day (at 10am) renovations started at 7am in the floor above us. When we called reception to complain we could only speak to the offsite call centre as the manager wasn't in the office. We did bring up these issues when we checked out and where made to feel like all the problems where our fault. No apology at all. You have lost a loyal customer
We booked a year in advance through Pure Luxury Holidays. What we were presented was from from pure luxury. If you are thinking of staying make sure it's not in apt 117. If you are unlucky enough to stay in this apartment you will have to put up with moth eaten carpets out dated run down furniture and dirty mattresses over with a thin cover to try and hide. the apt is on the 15 th floor we had our young granddaughter with us and had to barricade the patio doors to stop her going on the balcony as the doors didn't close properly. My advise would be think twice and look elsewhere. Only gave 1* as couldn't give a minus
We have just had the pleasure of spending 8 days at Gemini Court - and it was fantastic. When I booked I explained exactly what I was looking for - amazing views to Surfers Paradise and a lovely area where my (older) mother could relax and look at the ocean on days when not much was planned. I imagine that any room would have fitted the bill - but apartment 121 in the North Tower certainly delivered. Everything was updated (bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms etc) - and sparklingly clean. The lady on reception was lovely and helpful - which added to the experience. A couple of hints that I think some may find helpful - pay attention to the information you are sent re parking and getting your keys. The area is busy and hilly and there are several ways in. Patience makes it easy, but I am guessing that if you are tired and unprepared it could be frustrating. - it is not a hotel, so reception is not 24/7 (but they do have a helpful after hours phone service) - all views would have a good view - but higher is better - the superior rooms are worth paying for
We booked a superior apartment with a sea view. We got an apartmemt on the second floor of about 17 floors. For that alone we wont be back. A superior apartment is apparently one that has been renovated. It certainly isnt to a high standard. A lick of paint and some new carpet was about it. They are spacious though although bedrooms small with no balcony access from them. The balconys are also quite small off the lounge area. Be aware it is quite noisey at our level. No double glazing and although the rules state not to be on balconies after 10pm, we still had noise at 2.30am. The worst is there is no one to complain to as reception is not manned at nightime. There are fans and a large aircon unit, although the bedroom fan only went on high or off. Two other speeds didn't work. The bathroom is adequate which includes the toilet and a shower that had nowhere to put soaps etc. We had to sit them on the floor. They advertise free wifi but limit it to 200mbs/day/unit. Management replied to one complaint that it was in keeping with other accommodation providors in the area. Sadly that is probably true as Australian accommodation providors are still in the dark ages compared to the rest of the world when it comes to free wifi. They need to modernize their thinking as free wifi is a critical aspect for modern travellers. To be honest you could probably find much better accommodation. We wont be back!
Fantastic huge 2 bedroom apartment, location, swimming pool, sauna, spa and amazing sunsets. Staff were very helpful. You don't need a car as the beach, walking tracks and shops are very close. We will be back.
We booked a superior 2 bed apartment so as to maximise the view for our English relative. We were allocated apartment 121 on 15th floor for 5 days, which indeed had one of the best view on the coast, as one could see all up the sweep of coastline to the CDB of Surfer's Paradise, and part of the hinterland as well. Gemini has an enviable position in every way, as it is a short walk to the Burleigh shops and numerous cafes and coffee shops; and the Surf Club ( virtually on the beach), and Oscars well known restaurant are about 300 metres away. The apartment itself was very spacious, well lit, clean, attractively furnished - had a new 60 inch TV installed while we were there, and had one of the best equipped kitchens we have ever had in a holiday apartment. There is air.con only in the living area, and I wonder how warm the bedrooms might be in summer. The bathrooms looked very fresh, clean and perhaps recently renovated. Perhaps the only thing that might worry some are the very light( maybe Verasol?) blinds in the bedrooms. All the city lights look lovely at night as you can see through the blinds, but I wondered in summer whether the sun might be a problem in the mornings, and for anyone who likes a dark room to sleep. In that case take a sleep mask.
We loved the sunset view from the balcony very much. the apartment was quite clean, and spacious. we loved the location as well. However, they need to regularly check and do maintenance for all the interiors and the bathroom. the other downside for this apartment is the narrow parking space, and "funny" Internet quota limit. We only used the wifi less than an hour then shift to our own Internet Data Plan.
