The WiFi is not reliable, the speeds were around 5mbps each time I checked. The room was clean, but there is some noticeable wear that’s not shown in the pictures. Overall, good hotel for the price and very walkable to all of the attractions in Georgetown.

Convenient

It’s a very good location for me to get to the ferry and walking distance to many of the attractions in town. But don’t stay in the room facing the main road especially 1st and 2nd floor. Very noisy all night long from the cars on the road.

The front desk person could not communicate One room key so you couldnt leave air con on to cool the wee hot box when you went out The toilet nearly fell over when you sat on it Had to ask for wifi password The listing said there was a safe but there wasnt The noise from the road was very loud When calling reception from room or mobile there was no answer

Georgetown visit

Very good hotel with nice bathroom and bedroom Unfortunately the foot ferry from butterworth drops you about a 10 min walk up the road. Be careful of traffic You have to pay for tourist tax so I would advise you to get a receipt for this as I was nearly charged twice

Hotel was across the street from a buss turminal. There was a Free "CAT" buss that circled the George Town area that we used daily. The hotel was located on the mian foad that circled the Panang Island making it easy to go and see everything we wanted. Hotel staff was friendly,wonderful and spoke English with us. They were accomidating when asked for extra towels, ice, etc. Plenty of hot water for showers and room was air conditioned. Very confortable and the price was good--we needed two rooms for the 3 adults.

Breakfast finished by 9.30am, nothing much left but yet charged RM22 for additional children. Charged additional RM 40 for a child but neva even give any extra beds or anything... Then y charged additional?

Overall ok

The room was ok (nice, beautifull and clean). Breakfast menu ok. The location was very strategic, in front of Jeti rapidpenang terminal. One flaw is I felt intimidated when had a breakfast there, because the waitress always keep her eyes on me (I had a breakfast for two days there and I always had the same situation), like she was very insecure with me. What's wrong with me?? 😢

Bad breakfast / No internet/No customer service

When we checked in the lady at reception told us we only had one room booked, when we actually had 2 rooms booked. After some time I told her to check if it was under a different name , which it was I had to suggest this to her , she made no suggestions apart from telling me to contact Expedia as I had booked with them. The rooms given to us were quite small. The internet does not work in the bedrooms therefore you have to be in the lobby, embarrassing with guests from hotel sitting in lobby using the Internet. After a few complaints about the Internet we were moved to the fifth floor as they told us the wifi was better on that floor, BUT IT WAS NOT. Could not be bothered to go up and down to complain about it. The breakfast is very very basic, although the kitchen staff were helpful and made us omelettes on request. If you are a westerner be prepared to have only coffee/tea /toast and eggs, rest is noodles with sauce. Reception staff don't speak good English , we asked the man to tell us the name of the local ferry port he did not know and made no attempt to help with it, and as the Internet did not work we asked if he could order us Grab, like uber, and he had same problem loading the internet, but he made no other attempt to help us to get to the ferry port .

Nice room in convenient location

Well done basic hotel room with great shower facilities. Staff were unhelpful bordering on rude at times. When we arrived there were no towels or toilet paper in room. We alerted the staff to this but had to ask again several hours later. Hotel is very convenient for public transport and tourist attractions. Nazzeera's cafe round the corner is lovely and provides an excellent breakfast for just 10RM compared to the disappointing breakfast at hotel 19.

The wifi not good at all,very slow and hardly got connected,coz of that my work got pending. Breakfast seriously sucks and charged RM15 for children. There is no extra pillows as stated 1 child allowed.

When the room safe-deposit box cannot reopens, was told not to used it anymore, as she is not always available to reopen it if the deposit box fail again! What an objective answer and condescending staff and a supervisor too.

Transport and food an easy walk.

Within walked distance in Heritage zone.

1) House keeping no provide face towels, until we checked out mentioned about it, the registra admitted they knew about it. We were supposed better served, right? 2) Counter Registra not that informative to brief us about after 11.30am check out time, will blocked us to enter our room when we came back at 12pm. Is only 30 mins. Why no brief us abt the room blocking ? 3) No provide breakfast voucher to us, we realised they was breakfast in the morning, another staff asked for voucher from us. Actually should use voucher or no need ? 4) Breakfast food not that fresh and sumptous. Should be better.

Efficient, clean, updated hotel with very simple tasteful décor. Located directly across from the bus and ferry terminal, and very short walk to Clan Jetties, and Little India.

Nobody at the Reception to refund our deposit!

Nobody was at the Reception Desk on the morning of our check-out Feb 18th. We couldn't wait around because we have to catch the 6am ferry to Butterworth to make the 7.20am train to KL to make our flight back to the US. At KL, we called the Manager, Alice. She explained that the Receptionist was at their other sister hotel running errands that morning. I emailed the manager my nice in JB's info for Alice to send the refund check to. Not getting any response, 2 days ago I followed up with another email with my niece's Maybank account so the manager, Alice could make a direct deposit of our MYR 50 deposit. Up to today still, no response. Hotels.com need to be aware that the management of Hotel 19 is not returning our deposit. Do something. The day before, I spoke to the housekeeping staff. Apparently he is the only one taking care of 47 units. Poor guy. But for us 2 persons, only 1 set of toiletries was given. My guess is on the morning of our check-out, the Receptionist was picking up Guests Breakfast Buffet to make the 7am Breakfast for Guest since the Alice herself said it is prepared off site.
