The best thing about this place is the location. It’s right in the middle of the strip, which is great since parking and traffic down there are horrendous. The room was clean, but we did have an ongoing ant issue in our bathroom the entire stay. We were there in Dec right after a snow storm, which could have caused the ant issue, but we were on the second floor. We alerted the staff to the ants, which they came and wiped down, but they didn’t even offer us a different room. Besides the ants, our room was clean. There was, however, a missing light switch cover, a cracked vanity mirror and loud refrigerator in our room. The walls are also paper thin, as we could hear people coughing, playing music and even someone that dropped something next door. There was also no breakfast or gym use due to covid. The room where the breakfast is normally held was also very dirty and looked like they hadn’t cleaned it in some time. The hallways also smelled like stale old carpet, which is odd considering this place was recently renovated when Howard Johnson took it over. Overall the renovations were done quickly and they just slapped lipstick on a pig. I loved the location and some of the renovations were acceptable, but overall it was disappointing.

Room is spacious and clean. I wish there's a hook for the coat/jacket near the door, it would have been handy especially during winter rather than to hang it in the rack together with other clean clothes. The switch for the entrance/hallway is located near the bed, it should have been near door for accessibility. No breakfast available due to covid-19, that's quite understandable. We arrived at 8am on Sunday, there was a space or two available for parking. We had an early check-in with a fee of $29. Overall it was worth it especially with its location. Very walkable towards the village.

We love it here close to everything on the strip. Rooms are clean. Staff are friendly. Rooms are remodeled and there are chairs to sit outside every room. Fire pit is nice extra

Property was great and convenient to the strip. Loved the fire pit and outside furniture.

Very clean rooms and friendly staff.Construction work around pool was a little loud, but all n all it was a nice stay.

For the price, it was a very good hotel. It was clean, had basic amenities and a great location. I would definitely stay there again.

You get what you pay for. Great location with free parking. Rooms and bathroom updated. Allowed to park early since we arrived early. Also allowed an early check in. However sheets are terrible on bed. Bad water pressure in shower. AC unit makes noises all night. An outside solar light is on all night. Blackout drapes won’t get it out. One thing that sold me was a non smoking hotel. This was not enforced. If you’re looking to be close enough to downtown and a place to sleep, shower without paying to park this is your hotel. If you’re looking for something a bit nicer, stay at the Hampton. I would only stay for a quick weekend again.

Enjoyed coming to the Great Smokey Mountains, with Gatlinburg as a great starting point. Howard Johnson gave us a nice stopover.

The rooms are very smaller than they appear in the pictures. The price isn’t bad and the location isn’t bad either. Parking is limited.

Rooms were clean and nice, we were on the very end of the building and loved that in itself. Staff was friendly, beds were comfortable, i would definitely recommend a stay here and we will be back!!

Quiet location off the main strip but just a short walk to The Village, Aquarium and other prime locations. Wonderful staff, clean inside and out with a pool, seating by the creek and a large firepit. We have stayed many times and will continue to do so in the future.

Close to a lot of things to do, shopping and dining

Close to downtown. They were also redoing the property.

Great place, close to market and free parking and breakfast

At 10am the cleaning staff opened our door. Check out is 11:00am, confirmed with front desk and we had the do not disturb sign on door handle. In fairness, the sign's color blends with the door.
