We stayed here 7/26/18 thru 7/28/18. The hotel is very run down. We had problems the second night with bathroom ceiling leaking water from the ceiling. Bathroom toilet stopped up. They come and looked, never fixed anything. We left and came home very early because of this. They offered no discount or our money back. Never again. The toilet hung the first night and I fixed it myself.
first off i debated on writing this but I dont want anyone paying to stay here. first impressions were that this was an old motel. I didn't pick it and wasn't paying for it due to my job so I thought it could be worse. in my room I found a dirty wash cloth for some reason I started to take pictures of it. it was up on the luggage rack above the closet. hey it could have been missed easily, no biggie. I started to think if they missed that what else did they miss? upon a once over search of my room I located an empty Starbucks can under the bed. this would not be so hard to miss. what else did they miss? well with a thorough search of my room, this includes picking up the bed homemade board bed frame and all. I find a cup of water with cig butts and ashes in it and a marijuana pipe packed full with the dankest. if I smoked this would have been a glass half full situation. I dont and I start to get paranoid. i took it down to the guy in the front and he apologized profusely and offered me another room. I told him I didn't feel like searching another room from top to bottom and since my original room was cleared of all illegal substances I would just stay put. he was really nice and told me he would make sure to clean my room from top to bottom the next day. I got a sharpie and marked the sheets to see if they would actually clean the room as they say. same sheets, new trash bags. I left the next day.
What a s&$@ hole, I'm sorry but there is simply no other word for this run down ex Motel 8 leftover. My God they build bedframes out of wood streightvon to the floor nails perdruding all over the place boxsprings exsposed ,seethrough sheets from NOT hotel or even motel brand nor are the Matresses and boxsprings they may have found on the side of the road when the folks in town had bulk pick up day?And the Bedcover once opened straight from box to bed and never left that bed since? As well as the beige blanket beneth it ,yuk all the bedding stained and disgusting,we went up the street even though we just spend 18 hrs on the road with our parents and two children for a drive that should had taken us 8.5 hrs to get away from the hurricane that was to hit Florida which were we all lived to buy bedspreads and covers to use over the existing in order to be able to rest for the night because all other hotels were full and I had searched two weeks prior.athe bathrooms in all three rooms were just disgusting ,dirty and caulking was falling apart bugs crawling stinkyin all of them ,two did not have working vents or locks, strange stained tiles all over ,disgusting stinky water. This could be a great place if they closed it and brought in a maintenance crew tomoverhaul all a the broken stuff ,repainted ,recaulked ,replaced all the toilets and lighting to daylight and OMG do something aboughtbthe soundbarrier with the paper thin glass windows and ALL THt traffic .sadly we had no other option but to suck it up 3 nights maybe 12 hrs of sleep in all . I am now back home in Florida exausted and warning you DONT DO IT ,DONT STAY HERE. unless your live depends on it as ours did.
We stayed at this hotel spontaneously, a weekend night to just get away. The bed had bugs in it. There obviously had not been slept in for a while due to the cobwebs. The remote control was taped with duct tape. The light bulbs were blown and the room was musky. The beds were so sunken in the middle and old, we had to stuff the comforter under one side so we wouldn't be so uncomfortable.
I really liked this hotel. Really nice people I really liked they allow dogs !!! The room was big and the beds just eat me lol... I didn't want to get up but it was to nice to stay in bed. Highly recommended !!!!#
The room was very dirty and run down, there was mold under the counter and three holes in the ceiling that were plugged with toilet paper. The bed was so worn out that there were sink holes in the mattress.
Very hard to understand hotel staff. Several cosmetic flaws, our toilet handle was just hanging on by a thread. rooms not the cleanest but ok for what time we spent in the room. Breakfast was continental style, not much to choose from.
I was in town for a conference. I work for the army as an event planner. I decided to stay in this hotel because of the location and it was a cheaper rate. The staff was so rude and very unfriendly upon check-in. I then asked for some tolietries that were not in my room. I went to the front desk to request them where they tried to charge me, and claimed that the items were in the room before I checked in. Not only that as I checked out it was just a horrible experience and the manager complained about where I had parked my car when I pulled up to turn in my key. The location is great and the rooms were okay but dealing with the most unfriendly staff and poor management is enough to make me never want to stay there again and it was such a horrible experience that I took the time to write this review.
The motel has easy access to the area and is about 100 yards to the lake the only complaint I have was that the bed mattress was very hard and every morning I would wake uo soar. The last night I pulled the cushions off the coach and slept on them with no problem? But if anybody likes to fish and relax I do recomend Lake Guntersville Alabama. I talked to a relator and am thinking of retiring to this area. The weather was in the 50's but rained several days.
Found several dead cockroaches along the bed frame. Comforter had burn hole in it. Considering this was suppose to be a non-smoking room. It was also dirty. The air/heating unit didn't work right. The clerk's attitude needs improvement. The positive was the clerk said if I wanted to cancel my reservation for the next night. I could do so and get a refund. Didn't try the breakfast as I left to get a better one nearby. Can't recommend this motel for now. Perhaps after some updates and better cleaning of rooms. Might change my mind.
