We moved from Boaz to Tennessee a year ago. We came back to see family and attend the Jacksonville state homecoming game. Since the other hotel in Boaz was booked, as were the two hotels in Albertville, we decided to give Key West a shot. We should have kept right on driving when we pulled up in the park and ng lot and two police cars were in the lot, and a small gathering of people kept staring us down as we got out of our car. We went ahead, went inside and asked the clerk on duty about the situation. After giving us somewhat of a believable explanation we checked in. Do yourself a favor, and never ever check into this place. I would rather sleep in my car. The room hadn't been cleaned, around the bottom of the toilet on the floor were urine stains. There were stains and splatters all over the wall were the table was, and it looked like a wad of snot or blood. There was a huge hole in the wall were I guess an amenity was supposed to go. When my husband went down to request another room the clerk acted offended until he was shown my pictures I had taken. We had booked through Expedia, therefore couldn't get a refund. From now on I will always check my hotel rooms, especially if booked through a 3rd party!
Paid for room without checking one of the rooms (my mistake). Entered musty smelling room, old refrigerator unplugged, microwave was unplugged, and I could see light around three sides of the door. Facility must be very old, went to deal obtained refund minus $5. They said for city tax. I would sleep in car before I would sleep.there..out
The room wasn't clean. The bathroom was filthy! The handles to the dresser looked like it had never been cleaned. There was dead bugs and spiders in the coffee pot. The floor looked like it hadn't been vacuumed since the last tenant checked out. If it hadn't been for the hotels close proximity to the hospital I wouldn't have chosen it. If it hadn't been so late, and I hadn't been exhausted I would've demanded a refund!
I was in the area for a quick trip, just needed a place to sleep for the night. There were few options in the area all in the same price change, so I just chose this motel. It was about what you would expect based on the price…( I was glad that I brought my flip flops to wear in the room, I’m just saying) My biggest issue was that this motel advertised itself has having a complementary breakfast. When I woke up on the morning I wasn’t necessarily wanting to partake in this breakfast, but I did want a cup of coffee…..so….I walked over to the lobby and not only was there no complimentary breakfast (or breakfast of any kind) there was also no coffee. So I was a little annoyed that I had to get in my vehicle and drive down the street to get coffee. Again, don’t advertise amenities if you don’t provide them…that is called false advertising!
Very nice and clean hotel with very good hotel service would recommend to everyone. They have free WiFi and vending machines and laundry room. If your ever 9n boaz check this place out...I think you would like it......
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It smelled so bad that I had to get air freshener and was dirty. The mattress was brown on the sides and the sheets had stains. This hotel gives new meaning to the phrase "roach motel". It looks ok from the outside, but you get a shocker once inside.
We stayed here last week due to our car breaking down (not driveable) late at night on our way back from Decatur/Huntsville area. I must say that this place is less than desirable. My 1 year old daughter was crawling on the floor by the beds. When I picked her up, she had black stains all over her hands and legs. There were spiders and ants crawling in the bathroom. They give you two small towels and a tiny bar of handsoap to bathe with. The refrigerator was turned off and unplugged - took all night to finally get cold. The bed linens are stained, and the beds are so cheap or worn out, you feel like you are sinking. No liners for the ice container. There was black mold on the shower curtain. I don't expect fabulous at the rates they are charging, but I do expect cleanliness. I will never stay here again. No way.
So, there are 3 hotels in Boaz and I suspect if you MUST pick one this would be alright. However, if you can make it a little south Gadsden definitely do that. The showers and toilet were disgusting and the bed was awful. The sheets were covered with cigarette burns and the sides of the mattress had all sorts of stains. My wife and I slept very little due to the noise of the air turning on and off and the general feeling that we were sleeping in a mess. Also, at $60 or so a night, I thought that it was incredibly over priced. I have stayed in much nicer hotels for less. Again, you're in the middle of no where so you can't expect too much.
I had to laugh at the other comment about the wobbly toilet. She must have had the same room we stayed in in 2006! We were meeting with a realtor about retiring to the area.We now stay in Guntersville as that is where we want to buy.Convenience to Boaz outlets was nice and so was their staff.
This hotel is owned and operated by a nice family. Reservations and check-in/out were quick and simple. The rooms were clean but in need of renovations. Shower was stained and potty was a bit wobbly. The beds were comfortable but I didn't sleep well due to the automatic air conditioner turning off and on often. Every room faces the highway and the traffic was loud. I would stay here again though if I were in Boaz.
