Perfection! Cosy rooms, amazing quality of food, nice swimming pool and hot tub. Shops nearby, public transportation nearby and genuine and warm staff. Beautiful lobby as well. Japanese breakfast is very good.
Excellent hotel if you are visiting Fukuoka. Great location near restaurants and bars, easy to get there by train from airport. Fabulous lobby, rooms spacious and well appointed. All staff were excellent. Front desk staff very welcoming with a friendly professional check-in. Concierge Ms Mayumi Matsumoto provided outstanding service. If you are looking to be treated well in a top class, comfortable, well appointed hotel, stay here.
Had travelled to Fukuoka 3 times during these past two years, and it’s the first time I stayed here. Happy to report that besides the wonderful location (please explore the elevator that connects to the underground), the service is very good. At first sight, the rooms look a bit old, yet everything is so in place (event the flimsy looking shower head works wonderfully). As we are travelling in a party of 6 in three rooms, I need the Guest Relations team to help recommend and book meals for me throughout the 4-night stay. Their replies are most prompt and professional. One draw back- the wifi in all our rooms are very bad. But since we have our own mobile wifi, it does not bother us.
Me and my husband stayed at this hotel for my birthday. The hotel was very nice and sweet that they have a birthday card and some cookies ready upon my arrival. Nice and center location, clean and big room, A Korean staff was very nice and helpful. BIG THANK YOU TO HER. Coffee machine and mini bar is available, both Japanese and Western style of breakfast can be choose. Nice breakfast
Hotel is directly linked to the subway with pathway and elevator along the way, you can literally get from Fukuoka airport to this hotel without getting above ground 😂. The hotel surroundings are great too, many food options in the area and also Riverain just beside it. While the area is not exactly in Tenjin area, I find myself walking to Tenjin area a lot... The service is great, room and bathroom is clean. Due to unfortunate issue on the first day, we have less than anticipated time in Hakata but will definitely be more inclined to come back to Hakata for this hotel. Highly recommended if you don't want hassle, great location for options and feeling pampered on your holiday. After multiple visits to Hakata, I could finally say I have THE hotel I will always return too. 😁
I am writing this review as I am checking out of this hotel today. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel in Fukuoka, you should not hesitate to book here. Sure the lobby furniture is not updated, and the bathroom can be modernized, but what distinguishes this hotel is the people who work at this hotel. I reserved 2 luxury twin room and requested high floor, and that is exactly what we got. We had a breathtaking view all over Fukuoka over the seas. The location of the hotel was very central, and breakfast was great. I contacted the concierge before my trip to arrange for dinners, and she communicated with me diligently to make everything happen. When we checked at the concierge desk, they not only confirmed reservations and gave directions, but also accompanied us in person to the taxi stand to make sure that the driver will understand where we are going. The highlight of our stay was the Cultural Walking Tour that the hotel offers for the guests. Our guide was Mr. Nagata, as the general manager who usually gives the tour was not available. Even though it was the first time he lead the tour, he tried very hard to show everything in the itinerary. Now, I stayed in many 5 star hotels all around the world, and this is the first time, and probably the last time I would be offered a free walking tour of the city from a hotel. It was an absolute treat! I saw many sights that I missed from my previous Fukuoka visit. This is where the Japanese hospitality stands out, its people. Thank you Hotel Okura for making our stay in Fukuoka memorable.
My husband and I really wanted to visit Fukuoka while on our honeymoon and the city absolutely did not disappoint, however, the hotel did. This property is fine and at one point in time I imagine it was lovely but now it’s dated, the room felt musty and dirty and worst of all, the TV was locked to the wall. The staff is friendly at best — they appear to be trying but they just keep missing excellence. And, unfortunately the restaurant is bad for breakfast. I had reservations about booking here but the options in town were so limited when looking for a luxury property. With a solid facelift I think this property would thrive.
Stayed for 2 nites at Okura Fukuoka in 2 connecting rooms. Located near subway station, and a good 15 stroll of Canal City. Got the feel that this hotel is more popular amongst Japanese, did not see to many tourists. Furnishings so-so and fairly good front desk and concierge service. For the price paid, I might want to try Grand Hyatt Fukuoka, that has a big shopping mall located just next to it.
We stayed in a luxury deluxe room spacious enough for three persons with three large luggage and still have enough room to move about. The extra bed was ready upon check in - which speaks a lot about their efficiency. Hotel is about 5 mins walk from subway stations so it is convenient to travel to Tenjin which is only a stop away. There are some yatai stalls outside the hotel if you want to experience street food. Otherwise, there are many restaurants around the hotel. Staffs are friendly and helpful although not all can speak English. Will definitely stay again.
I stayed for 2 nights in a standard room. I was able to check in despite arriving 30 minutes early. The staff at the front desk and concierge were very helpful and discreet. The room was reasonably sized considering how small many Japanese hotel rooms are. Although the room was expensive compared to other hotels in Fukuoka, it is much cheaper in comparison to Tokyo hotels. Two options were available for breakfast - Japanese and Western. I tried both and preferred the Western option as there is more variety and they still provide Japanese options in the main restaurant whereas the Japanese breakfast is more limited. The hotel is located close to Nakasukawabata Station but be aware it is quite a long walk from the station platforms to the hotel through the shopping centre. Overall an excellent stay.
