Just got back from another fantastic holiday at this hotel , our third visit . Yes the rooms are tired and need up dating , but they are clean , spacious and have all you need for a comfortable stay . Any problems are dealt with swiftly , our hairdryer hose was split , I reported it , maintinence was there in a flash , they fitted a new drier which was far superior to the old one . Next day a bottle of cava and chocolates were left in the room with a note of apology followed by a phone call to check everything was OK . The towels were plenty and of decent quality , always loads of hot water available . We found the food to be execellent quality , we visited the speciality resturants every night , you had to booked a day in advance . The Canerian was fantastic , sirloin steak cooked to your liking , as was the salmon . The beach at this hotel is what sets this hotel apart , absolutely stunning , shame the red flag was flying most days . You must pay 9 euros a day for the loungers and brollys . The naturist area is very popular , and they can tend to stray into family areas which I don't think is acceptable when they have such a large area . The staff are amazing , especially to people who are polite and treat them with the respect they deserve , they work really hard . Had a good flight with Thomson , no delays . I would not hesitate to return to this hotel again , it is fantastic value for money .

We went to this hotel again this year because we like it.we went with my daughter, her partner and my three grandsons. The boys throughly enjoyed themselves, always in the pool. There is now free wifi. The food was very good and catered for everyone. The animation team were very good and put on some good shows in the evening. The reception staff were very helpful. There are two little shops on site, one in the main building and the other down in the annex near the pool. There are two pools and a pool for the little ones. We stayed in the annex part of the hotel and the rooms were big.

We had a trip here and were the youngest ones. We really didn't seem to fit in as all the guest were old german couple who only wanted to use the free bar. The rooms were old and worn and the beds were terrible. However the staff was really nice, friendly and serviceminded. The location was amazing and right on the large white sandy beach with no hotels close. The staff and the location made it all okay. There is about 4 km to Correlejo so we ended up renting a car which was really cheap.

Recently returned from a lovely fortnights holiday , our 7th at this hotel .As expected the location suits ourselves as we do love the beach area , hotel bedroom although looking a bit tired, furniture was immaculately maintained nothing was a problem for the domestics Food was plentiful and varied , we did use the themed restaurants 3 times also very nice as well , entertainment team worked very hard to cater for every body`s tastes and I'm sure they did as these areas were always busy I did notice people moaning about sunbeds on previous reviews ,but we always got 2 easily ,all the staff were exceptionally pleasant as well as courteous hard working at all times ,in fact I couldn't fault nobody every one was always busy looking after their customers We did hire a car for 3 days , we used Hertz and pre booked in the UK, again easy to deal with as well as being reasonably priced , only £30 per day for a nice car with full insurance as I did hear of 1 chap who had to fork out £250 for a damaged wing mirror ,not Hertz another car hire company We will return next year as the hotel caters for our holiday needs and budget , an excellent vacation

My husband and I stayed for a week in Sept. We enjoyed all of the hotel facilities especially the lovely pools and stunning beach .Hotel is exceptionally clean and our maid in our annexe suite was superb. Food and drinks were very good .If people want 5 star then they should expect to pay for it in my opinion. We would definitely return to RIU OLIVA 😎😎

stayed here for a week with my mam this month its a lovely hotel and the staff are amazing. the food was a bit hit & miss for us but always found something to have. staff are so friendly and happy to help. the place is also kept spotless.

Perfect location on the amazing sand dunes and sea front. Excellent staff who spend the whole day making sure everyone is happy and have what they need. The food is very good, plenty of choice and suited us as a family. The star rating is accurate. The rooms and corridors are comfortable but abit tired and out dated. This didn't affect out holiday though. The local town has shops and plenty of restaurants and If you want a relaxing week in a stunning location, this is for you.

On the advise of a friend I have joined Trip Advisor and am going to attempt my first review. People have different tastes, likes/dislikes, wants and needs when it comes to a holiday and what follows is my opinion based on my experience at the hotel. So - in my opinion - the hotel is ok, but nothing special. As many people have pointed out, the hotel is tired and very much in need of complete refurbishment. We stayed in the annex. It was relatively quiet most of the time and very clean with immaculately kept gardens (note: rooms are not soundproof). The room: big, across two floors with two balconies. Getting to the bedroom at the top from the entrance to the block at the bottom requires going up 5 sets of steps, which may not be easy if you have walking difficulties. It was no mean feat getting the suitcases in, but we survived. The room was kept spotless, but we did not get a single decent nights sleep as the bed was (for us) uncomfortable. Waking up with numb arms and backache was not great and more than a couple of times we put out the 'do not disturb' notice to try and catch some Zs. The bath had seen better days but we had no problems with the water flow/temperature. Food: to be honest, we were very disappointed. There was variety (salads, fish, and meat options) but salt appeared to be a favourite ingredient in a number of dishes, and selection wise, it did get repetitive. Mostly, we opted to eat out - which kinda defeats going all inclusive and makes an already expensive holiday even more so. We have taken other all inclusive holidays in Fuerteventua, Turkey, and Greece, and would have to say that this one has rated the lowest for us. The restaurants - including the speciality restaurants - are a bit 'school dinner hall' although the food in the Asian restaurant was pretty good. Drink: other than sparkling, the wine was pretty dreadful to say the least, but the beer and cocktails were fine. Entertainment: the entertainment staff work hard but the venue and seating arrangements are a let down. Sadly, not much in the way of fitness classes, and the gym was very basic. Disco: bad, bad, bad and the 'gentleman' serving was very, very rude to just about everyone. He could start an argument with an empty room. Enough said about that one. Staff (excluding disco): wonderful, very hard working and polite. The cleaners are amazing, and hats off to the gardeners working away in very high temperatures. Pools: clean and very busy, there were beds available most days in the annex area but they were also crammed in like sardines in a tin (it's one way of getting cosy with your neighbours, I guess). We used the beds provided on the room terrace. No pool to take a dip in but for us, it was more comfortable and smoke free (there were a lot of smokers at the hotel and very few smoking restrictions). Iron: none supplied and no self service laundry room. Take a travel iron and suitable mat (or use the trusted 'table top towel' method). Hairdryer: supplied but would recommend taking your own. Water: massive let down - bottled water is not supplied in the hotel or the room. They didn't even give you a couple of bottles when you arrive, which would have been very welcome when you turn up late at night after a very long, and with no change for a vending machine. Thankfully, there is a Dino supermarket just a short walk away and we were able to stock up the next morning. Luggage: you take your luggage to your room. Overall, we give the hotel 3 out of 5. The majority of staff deserve a 5, but the hotel is let down by the food and wine, limited activities and facilities that have seen far better days. Would we recommend? A difficult question to answer as it depends on who you are. Last year we stayed in the south of the island at a 4* hotel that cost us over £200 less than it cost us to stay here - but it was a far superior hotel. We cannot help but think that with Riu you are perhaps paying over the odds because of the name. If you are looking for good food and the option to be as active or chilled as you want then no, this hotel is probably not for you. Looking for somewhere romantic? Probably not your best chouce. Families/couples/groups looking for decent sized, accommodation in a good location with a short transfer, but without lots of frills? This might tick the box.

Had to really think what to say about this Three star hotel .First impressions were that it was tired although the reception staff were friendly and helpful .Our room was disappointing as we understood we were having a sea view but if you are in the annex as we were that isn't possible Basic but clean with an excellent maid it was a good size Two rooms , one with a/c one with fan , a/c was poor. Food generally good , service varied from good to bad. Pools good ,pool areas poor This brings me to my main complaint there were smokers everywhere, particularly around the pools. In fact we have never stayed in a hotel where so many people smoked! Even in marked no smoking areas .The beach is the jewel with endless white sand but even there it was spoilt with cigarette ends . Sun beds and umbrellas are paid for locally .Beach bar good and prices were not too bad. The hotel caters for young families with a play area ,kids pool and high chairs, kids food in the restaurant look ok. If you don't like cigarette smoke you won't like this hotel but if it doesn't bother you or you are a smoker this is a good All inclusive Three star hotel. We had a good time but wouldn't rebook.

everything about this hotel is really good. from the food to the staff. our maid was a treasure she helped with questions asked and was so pleasant and friendly . the food was delicious and tasty with plenty of choices. when we hired a car you could take food out with you from the dining room. the rooms are spacious and comfy , and cleaned properly. all areas outside of rooms were cleaned regularly and proficiently, even to the fact of one evening some of the maids were mopping all the walkways to and from restaurants etc. Nothing was too much trouble at this hotel. also there was a safe in your wardrobe which was free of charge , wonderful. Would definitely recommend the Riu Oliva Beach hotel and would most definitely go back. To the STAFF ... Thank You for a lovely holiday
