Have been going to this hotel for the past 10 years......would not be going back if something was wrong. Much prefer the Annex, as quieter, less busy and more friendly. OK Negatives first......some of the rooms are getting a little tired, but so would you after a day at the pool or on th wonderful beach. I know that the hotel has a refurbishment regime in progress. Positives....All the staff encountered over the past 10 years have been nothing but helpful and polite. To the guests, the vast majority are very social. All appear and always have done been respectful. In the evening in the bar you will meet people you think you know, but only because you will have bumped into them or walked past them on the miles and miles of beautiful beach, looking totally different, and yet you all do is making friends... Above all, this is a family resort, but if you want the quiet vacation this is also the place to be....
Fuerteventura is the closest paradise on Earth i´ve seen so far and ClubHotel Oliva Beach Resort is in the middle of it. Right on the beach, not stress and genuine atmosphere. If you want to feel calm, hear sound of the wind and smell of the sea you are right
A lovely relaxing week in the sun. We had fantastic customer service from start to finish. We arrived at 10am and had to wait 20 mins for a room, while we waited we had drinks and time to look at the pool. Yes the rooms are dated however they are pristine clean and everything you need is there. the only complaint we have about the room is that the air con was slightly poor. The light in the bathroom broke however we reported this and it was fixed immediately. Beds were clean and comfortable. Every room has a nice view of the beach or the pool. Shower was excellent and fresh towels were available every day in the room. Two pools to choose from, we stayed at the main hotel pool because it was quieter, again everything was spotless and sunbeds easy to find. Pool was cold and fresh and entertainment/music provided throughout the day. Help yourself to soft drinks/hot drinks/snacks and cocktails provided via the bar. Now the entertainment, as it is in every package holiday it can be a little strange but you must remember that they have to cater for everyone's needs. Shame on anyone here who has said that the entertainment was rubbish because the team work incredibly hard from 10am until late. We had a lovely week and it was just what we needed. We would recommend and revisit. You will have a great time and will not regret your booking.
We stayed at this Hotel for ten days, in the Hotel not the Annex, arriving home on Tuesday 10th April. It was a really lovely hotel, yes it is in need of renovation, which will be commencing in November this year. The room was big enough for us, the furnishings were dated but everything was spotless and cleaned beautifully each day by Carmen, even making the top sheet into a fan on two occasions. Bedding was changed every other day. We asked for more pillows as one was not sufficient, they were in our room when we arrived back after the evenings entertainment. After few days the hairdryer cord split, again we asked at reception and it was repaired with a new lead when we got back from relaxing on the sunbed. Despite other bad reviews the food cannot be faulted, there was something for everyone. The wine wasn’t to my taste but it wasn’t too bad. We walked through the Annex several times and the children’s club was in full swing and the children certainly looked as though they were enjoying every minute. The beach is stunning and we walked along it every day, be aware that if you turn right from the hotel onto the beach there is a nudist beach curther up... we soon turned around and went the other way, making sure we turned left after that. The staff are really friendly, we had problems with one barman but even he was ok by our last night. We intend to return once the refurbishment is entertainment team are brilliant although we don’t join in we enjoyed watching. If you are planning to book at this hotel bear in mind it was built a long time ago and the furnishings are outdated and we had a key for the room not a card. But other than that go and have a fantastic time.
We returned on Saturday after two brilliant weeks at the Riu Oliva Beach. I can't understand why there is all this negativity about it being outdated. To me it doesn't matter if the bedroom furniture is mahogany rather than light oak! You get huge wardrobes, big beds, suitcase rest with drawers, a big dressing table, two big bedside tables and a side table and chair. What more do you want? The important things like cleanliness (if you get up early there appears to be more cleaners than guests) are first-rate. The food is plentiful and varied (I put on 10 pounds in two weeks) and the facilities are excellent. The staff (especially Reception Staff) are brilliant. We would certainly come again. Though keep me away from the Danish Pastries and Nutella at breakfast!!
We stayed here in October as a family of four. We booked a family room but be warned this meant the kids sleeping on 2 sofa's. No air con in the room, just a ceiling fan that had no impact upon the room temp. The site itself was lovely, the pools where clean and we had no issue finding beds at the pool side. The beach was clean and nice. Food and drink were an average standard expected in AI. No one had an complaints. Staff were great.
Stayed here from7th Feb 2018 to 14th Feb 2018. Once again had a lovely holiday at the Oliva Beach. The staff cant do enough o help from reception to bar staff to housekeeping, they clean the rooms to perfection. The weather was a little chilly on and off when we were there but it was February and still beats the UK! The hotel is undergoing refurbishment in November and although I look forward to seeing the results I think it may have a negative effect on the clientele who have been visiting regularly over the years. I have always found this place to be comfortable and like a home from home, I wonder if this will change with the upcoming renovation. Beautiful beach, wonderful staff nice food and a short trip from the town of Corralejo. What more could you ask for.
Location is at a great balance especially due to its location close the its own beachfront whichis sandy and within a short 5 min bus ride to the centre of the town. However the reason ive personally put this hotel at 2 to 3 stars is due to the fact the rooms were not to standard whereby the furniture and style of the rooms were for too old and the restaurants furnishing also.Food was ok however the chinese restaurant i would not bother trying at all in comparison to their own local cuisine restaurant book to dine. Not only was i the only person who left the chinese restaurant after 5 minuites of sitting down but many others as the food was either too salty or diddnt taste authentic at all The staff were impecable especially housekeeping and the entertainment team however with such a hotel it would need a refurb and with so many will be paying the extra to stay in a potentially great hotel and expect greater quality of foods.
Having passed this hotel on a transfer previously I had said to my wife I would love to stay there due to its location. So the chance came up at a decent price so I booked for myself, wife, daughter (aged 3) and my mother (wheelchair assisted). We started reading the reviews and got mixed feelings. We stayed the week before easter..... And the positives outweighed the negatives Negatives: 2nd part of the week hotel was full and started to creak in terms of day time space. Ie pool area WiFi not in rooms 3rd lift only working latter end of week. Pools - cold!! Which annoyed me as a swimmer and my daughter as a splasher!! Location - if you want lively corralejo this hotel is not for you Card/ game room. - Middle set of tables no lighting above it. Loud environment when acts on in bar next door Loungers - if you are like me and get up early daily then you will have no issue. 7.30am secured us 4 loungers in a prime spot that got sun for 9 hours....if you like a lay in you may struggle Omelettes - freshly made omelette station for breakfast only open on Saturday Positives: LOCATION...BREATHTAKING.... If this was in the Caribbean you would wax lyrical about this beach!!! Also first drop off from airport! Staff.....really helpful in all locations. Reception Team excellent. We booked late and got a family room in annex and a single occupancy room in main hotel through first choice. On arrival at hotel reception advised they had moved us to adjoining rooms in main hotel. However if room wasn't to our liking we could move to annex. Room was fine. Great service On another occasion my mums wheelchair needed the tyres pumping up. Done within 20 minutes despite busy check in period. Cava - lovely tipple to have flowing Children - although at 3 my daughter was too young to join in the rui club. What we saw looked great. English speaking child entertainers despite heavy German presence. 2 playgrounds were good. Pizzas - superb especially the tuna ones! Food - on whole very good and well replenished. Decent variety. Pool area - nice touch to have some "beach" areas within the grounds Shower rooms - despite early checkout (11am) decent shower facilities with towels provided. WiFi - covered ALL of communal areas. Rooms - cleaned daily Evening - good amount of seating at night Games room - decent ie 2 table tennis tables, adequate gym adjoining Jacuzzi - nice and under used! All in all I've stayed in 3 star hotels in mainland Europe that at nowhere as good as this. For me outdated 4star..... With amazing location!!! Do it!! Worth every penny
The hotel is split into two sections; the main building and the annexes which are set out like a village which are low rise. The main building houses a buffet restaurant and also the Canarian speciality restaurant. There is a large pool with lots of space to find a sun bed. There’s also a jacuzzi here too set in some gardens surrounded by more sun beds offering views of the sand dunes and beach. On the lower levels of the main building is the gym and entertainment area with 2 Poole tables and 2 ping pong tables. In order to play ping pong a refundable deposit is required by reception so bringing your own bat and ball would be a good idea. There’s also a large pool by the annexes which is ideal for families as it starts shallow and gradually gets deeper. There is another buffet restaurant here as well as the Mandarin speciality restaurant. . Our room was in the annex with a large balcony overlooking the pool, however it did not get much sun. Having booked just a standard room I was pleasantly surprised to find that the room was split into two levels, the ground floor having 2 sofa beds and a dining table and chairs and on the upper level was the bathroom and a further 2 single beds. The room was comfortable and bright however the bathroom was tired and is in major need of a refurb, which I believe is on its way later this year. The hotel is perfect for a complete beach break being on one Fuerteventura’s biggest beaches. The sand is silky soft and the colour of the water is exactly how it looks in the pictures. There is a taxi rank right by the hotel gates where you can catch a ride into Corralejo, or alternatively you can get the bus which is a reasonable cost. Each part of the hotel as 2 restaurants; a buffet style and a specialty one. The food in both specialty restaurants were excellent and a fantastic range in the Mandarin restaurant. The food in the buffet restaurants did get a bit repetitive, however it was of still good quality and tasty.
