Le Méridien Grand Hotel Nürnberg

4.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Grand Dame in need of a facelift inside and out. Very good location on the edge of the old town. Comfortable if a bit faded room. Could use a better air conditioning system, which was never really cold in the room (three other hotels that we stayed at on the same trip had better A/C, so no excuses about how this is Europe and they don't use air conditioning). We stayed in a junior suite and it was a good size. Staff needs more training: i.e. asked the same question about train schedules to different people and found different levels of familiarity with the train system among them. These folks won't get your train tickets for you in advance of travel and you will have to deal with the machines at the station. Our hotel in Munich, our stop before Nuremberg, had no trouble getting tickets for us. Another morning the maid repeatedly kept coming to our room and knocking like crazy to wake us up. The DND sign was not on the door but she obviously knew we were in there. Eventually she walked in on us. The next day we asked the desk for a do not disturb sign and used it every time we were in our room. Hotel restaurant has a limited dinner menu and fair food.

The rooms were clean, the employees were caring and considerate, and the overall hotel is simply gorgeous. It is right outside the old city - walking distance to the castle - with beautiful city views.

Outstanding hotel and location would recommend to all

Nothing negative, many good interactions, but nothing that I'll always remember.

I was surprised at the 19Euros per day for internet service and 24Euros for breakfast. The rooms were clean and nice but nothing special. Over priced for what you get at other hotels.

It's a great hotel, with a great location but it is attention to detail that kept my fiancé and I from having a perfect experience. There was a open beer bottle in the mini bar. It seemed someone had drank half of the beer and put it back in and it had remained unrecognized by the cleaning staff. After I had informed the front desk they said they would make a note so I wouldn't get charged and they would send someone to the room to remove the bottle. They did make a note but never removed the bottle, which in all honesty made me feel a little ignored.

Have you ever had a hotel experience where everything was perfect, but the little things killed it? The Meridien is a wonderful high-scale hotel. You're paying for quality. Clean rooms, wonderful decor and friendly staff...but oh how they missed the little details a business traveler expects. WiFi and Internet - Beware its EUR19 a day for internet in your room. This is almost bearable except for the fact that it can't handle the bandwidth requirements of VPN, VOIP or any business traveler's basic needs. Breakfast - They don't tell you whether your room rate includes breakfast or not until you ask. I had eaten breakfast at EUR22 per day for three days before I recognized it wasn't included in my rate.

Perfect

good location for business travler the banhofe station is near. easy to get the metro to messe and other parts of nuremberg . frindly staff. 22 euro for breakfest is too much they should consider to add breakfest for that kind of rooms price.

This is a "Grand Hotel" in a grand location. Very close to the Christmas Market and train station. Room was very clean and a nice blend of old european and contemporary. Did not use the restaurant as we so enjoyed the outside street cafes and other market vendors. Would highly recommend this hotel to any couple or business traveler to Nurnberg.

Initially taken to an old horrible room but after discussing with staff taken to lovely renovated room. Do not accept old rooms and you will be good. Otherwise good location and service. Right across from train station.

Location is good, rooms were clean.
