Viale Cataratas Hotel

The hotel is close to the main attractions of Foz do Iguacu, but far from the city. The room is clean and the staff friendly. The only detail we didn't enjoy is that they don't have plugs near the bed. We enjoy using the cell phone by the bed while charging and also use the alarm function. The breakfast had nice options. My family and I enjoyed our staying. We used the FozTrip Tourism services, which is just beside the reception. They were very friendly and our driver, Mr. Jani Pacheco, was SUPER friendly and shared many useful tips.

I attended a four day meeting at a venue across the road from the Viale Hotel, so I stayed there. Hotel is good value for cost, room clean and ample, wi-fi worked OK. The breakfast was excellent and typical of Brazil. Has a large outdoor pool. To dine out just have the concierge call the restaurant which will send a free pick-up van to take you there and bring you back to hotel after meal. A good option if you want a reasonably priced place to stay with all basic comforts.

Enough space for tour bus. Large entry area. Friendly help desk. Large comfortable and clean rooms. Good breakfast buffet. Nice and quite sitting place near the bar. Excellent assortment of hard and soft drinks.

We had a large conference at this hotel recently and the hotel coped well with our group of over 100. The conference rooms were mostly windowless, which is never ideal, and the buffet food became a bit repetitive after a few days. But the staff are friendly and ready to help. And the rooms were very comfortable, of a little bit 'tired'.

Two of us were traveling in Brazil with arrangements made by Martin Travel. We had requested 4 star hotels and they booked us here. I cannot believe anyone would rate this hotel as excellent. The room was ok, but the food was one notch above inedible. The dining room was big and noisy with room for a cast of thousands. There no restaurants within walking distance and we were afraid to try room service.

If you want the experience of a Chinese hotel, go here. The restaurant is the size of a barn with seating for about a thousand. The noise is deafening. The food is deplorable. The rooms and location aren't bad, however if that is all you care about. When you walk down the hall it is pitch black until you get to the next sensor when the lights go on.

We stayed for 2 nights and the hotel was pretty good . Neat and clean and it's just 20 min drive from the Airport . They offer free wifi but had to type in the details every time we log in and it irritates,, they provide continental breakfast and has a good swimming pool as well . The staff at the reception can speak English which was a boon for us . Would visit again

We spent a month traveling in Brazil and Bolivia. This was our least favorite hotel. We did not have a terrible experience; it was clean and amenities functioned in the room. But the following mattered to us: we did not have a car and the restaurants were not in walking distance (forget the mall for decent restaurants and it was raining even to walk there). There was only a huge cafeteria style room with a buffet for dinner, so we ordered pizzas in the room. They were not at all tasty. We were on the floor just above the escalators --and even being quite a ways down the hall, we heard children playing up and down the escalators and on the landing above the main desk from 11 at night until 1 in the morning (apparently the desk clerk was oblivious to the fact that they were disturbing the guests). Our air conditioning did not work and the room was freezing. It took an hour to get a maintenance person; he did not speak English and he thought we wanted it cooler. A second call finally resolved the issue about 2 hours after the first call. There as music and party noises from quite a ways a way most of the night. The breakfast was ok; I wish I had noticed the tapioca pancake stand before loading my plate. I would have liked to try one. We left early the following morning and we asked if we could get coffee..nope. Other hotels in Brazil that catered to tourists had an early bird continental starting sometimes as early as 3:30! Since the main flight back to Sao Paulo is a very early one, this should be standard at this hotel--nothing elaborate, but coffee and bread perhaps. The front desk staff (with one exception) was bored with questions; it was not a welcoming experience. There are other choices--try something else.

Overall my stay at this hotel was good. It has all the necessary amenities for a tourist heavy spot such as Foz Iguaçu. If you don't feel like spending the time doing the touristy thing, you can spend a day of relaxing at the pool, working out in their decent size gym, drinking beer and cocktails by the pool. Wait staff were helpful, front desk very informative, and the concierge was helpful. Most speak good English. I recommend this hotel for a solo trip or couples. I may try a hotel closer to downtown next time I'm in town.

Just completed our 2 night stay. The hotel was clean and the staff very helpful with the area and many other questions. This is not a five star hotel but very clean and comfortable. It's just 800 meters from a large shopping mall. The pool area was very clean and very well maintained. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast (included in our rate) and found it to be better than most. We also had one dinner there on their buffet night which was also good and not pricey. Now for the not so great features , hallways always dark until you walk and sensors pick you up and then they turn on. Not to sure if this would be a safety issue, but none of our group liked this. Air conditioning difficult to work. Did not provide wash cloths in the baths.
