OK, first the good things : there was a huge outdoor pool with poolside bar and we were upgraded to a beautiful bedroom with ensuite jacuzzi. So very good first impression. The problems started when we went to have dinner. The hotel sprawls all over the place and the signage is poor to non-existent, so it took ages to find the dining room. When we got there it was huge and incredibly noisy with a buffet service - more like a staff canteen. We later found there was meant to be a smaller bistro somewhere but there were no signs anywhere indicating this. The hotel is not located within easy reach of other restaurants, so going out was not an option. We resorted to a room service meal (pretty good to be fair but limited choice) and the next day had a big lunch out at the falls and bought snacks for the evening meal. When we went for breakfast the dining hall was shut - it turned out the breakfast room was on a different floor. What a shambles! The final straw was settling the bill. The hotel's computer system was down and they had lost the dockets we signed for room service. We disputed the bill (it was someone else's), the manager was called by reception (but didn't turn up for 10 minutes) and none of the staff were much help. Eventually the manager just wrote down a figure without any breakdown of how he arrived at it. As we were already late for the airport shuttle we had no choice but to pay - all very unsatisfactory. Our trip was part of a package with Cox & Kings, all of which was very good with the exception of this one hotel.
This hotel is beautifully laid out, and has a very relaxing atmosphere. There are lots of facilities, including a great outdoor pool. I really liked our room, it was very clean, comfortable and had a nice jacuzzi bath. The small lounge bar was nice to sit and have a drink in, we had an older gentleman waiter the second evening and he was really nice. There is a buffet dinner option and I thought this wasn't bad value for money, there were lots of options for starters, mains and desserts. The hotel is in a good location to visit both sides of the falls too.
What a little gem. It is about 30 minutes to Brazil side and Argentina side of the falls. The hotel was clean and spacious and very welcoming. All the staff were friendly and attentive. We got a welcome drink upon arrival, love those little touches. The pool area was just beautiful, pool bar, lovely cocktails. Dinner was buffet and again, beautiful. Tasty and lots of choice. We also tried the food round the bar which was equally reasonably priced and delicious. Nice comfy bed. We really enjoyed our stay here, a right little gem and a beautiful way to relax after lots of walking at the falls.
We stayed here 2 nights as part if our tour. We were all upgraded to suites, the rooms had king size beds with standard beds on both sides of the bed. Bathroom had spa tub and a shower. It also had a full length window that opened into the living space. Blinds could be lowered to block the window. As a warning they DO NOT completely block the window. The toilet is still visible. Buffet for breakfast and dinner were both excellent and food and service by the pool was excellent. Pool was large
Modern, large hotel with a convention wing. The pool is huge and rather pretty. The restaurant is a giant space with good Brazilian buffet choices. Easy access to sites by taxi or car. You can't walk to downtown easily. Only 15 minutes from the Foz airport by car.
The rooms are clean, spacious for two. We liked having a fridge, safe, robes, and plenty of shampoo and soap. Staff were polite and breakfast, particularly the juices, fruit and queijos, was good. WIFI seems to be better closer to the lobby. In our room, the side of the bed closest to the lobby was fine. My husband's iphone didn't connect well but my laptop and bargain basement samsung phone had no problem. Noise: a colleague on the main floor found it loud but on the 1st floor up we had no issues. It is possible to close the doors quietly, but folks don't, so that was the main noise for us. Exercise room: we didn't use the room, but it looked spacious and with plenty of equipment. It is encased in glass, looked like a nice space. The weather (Aug 2017) was great so we used the outdoor pool, which was nice. There's an indoor pool and hottubs too. Also gift shops and ATM. Despite the conference, it wasn't crowded. This hotel was nicer than other places we stayed in Brazil (also twice the price). Items (ie coffee pot, iron, etc.) that would be standard in North American hotels do not appear to be standard in Brazil. There were sometimes movies in English (i.e., not dubbed, with Portuguese subtitles) on TV. Some reviewers seemed concerned about the window in the bathroom, which made me curious about privacy. It is set >4 ft in the wall so it just provides fresh air without being revealing. It is also opaque so, if concerned, just close it. Many of the other reviews were very helpful, thank you, here are some more details if you are travellers like us who might be here for a conference and wanting not to spend too much. The location is a bit out of town, but we walked and bused and enjoyed both. There's a gas station 10-15 min walk if you want to pick up snacks and drinks. 45 min walk to the supermarket and 50-60 min walk to downtown. I did not feel unsafe. The public bus (<4 reals) makes everything accessible and affordable. And its easy. To head to town, walk to the roundabout and then it is easier to cross the highway. The 200 bus will take you to the supermarket, downtown (centro) and to the bus terminal. From the bus terminal, the 120 bus goes to the airport, the Bird Park, and Iguassu Falls (60-90 min inc. walking, waiting to transfer). The conference facilities, staff and food were excellent. The food and drinks were actually outstanding (better than the breakfast). The drinks were strong and abundant and we enjoyed the entertainment. Sound quality wasn't great in the rooms but the audiovisual equipment was quite good.
I changed 4 rooms during 2 nights.bedroom are too small & noisy.you have no view except barn or street.but staff are polite and friendly.there is nothing special to do at hotel only one swiming pool which is busy.not a quiet hotel.
We had a 4 night stay here and had to change rooms twice during our stay due to the noise. When complained to the Desk we were not even offered an apology and the room change process was done with a bad attitude. I am sure there are other better places to stay in that area.
We were there for 2 nights and had a comfortable stay , can't complain. However the rooms were not very spacious and the room layout was not in such a way to keep your luggage in a logical place.. it had to be kept pretty much in the middle of the room, near the entrance etc and that made the room cramped for space. The big restaurant they have which operates La Carte menu and Buffet served the purpose but lacking in cosiness and personal touch. It was just like a big cafeteria and this was not our cup of tea most definitely. Also, the reception desk staff could have been more friendly but it was more matter of fact. On the day we checked out, it was business like with usual customary questions asked like 'anything from the mini bar used ?' etc etc and the bill was settled without even a goodbye. No pleasantries exchanged even to the minimal extent of asking where we were headed or wishing us a pleasant trip.. absolutely nothing. Customer Service should be on the forefront and these small things mentioned make a huge difference to the guests.
My wife and I spent two nights at the Recanto Cataratas Thermas Resort and Convention Center during a trip to Iguacu Falls. The room was more than adequate although it didn't have wash cloths or facial tissues (I was told by fellow visitors that their rooms didn't have those items either so I guess it must be standard). The courtyard is very nice with a pool and bar. The dining area offered a delicious buffet for our breakfasts and dinners. The hotel staff is friendly, courteous, and helpful.
