Everything was amazing with our recent visit from 8/8/17 thru 8/12/17 in Room 323. First of all, if you go there, the staff will always be there for you. We like them so much, we knew their names. Debbie, Kristin, Daphne(Penelope - HA!!), Aaron, Letty and the other guy that works at the front desk. I forgot his name. We were greeted with a very warm welcome. We got to the room and I said to my mom, I love this place. The room was super clean. We had a fridge, microwave, small coffee maker among other good things. The bathroom was super clean too. They provided us free breakfast that had all the trimmings. A very tasty variety of breakfast food. Very, very reasonable rate!! They also have conference rooms and a business area where you can use their computer, etc. I highly recommend that you check this place out if you go to Fort Walton Beach!! Its not right on the beach, but the beach is less than a mile away! Fort Walton Beach is a friendly and quaint place with great restaurants and beaches! Oh, the Comfort Inn also has an indoor pool and hot tub and washers and driers.
I have stayed in this particular place once before when it was brand new. I remember how my stay was then and how is was this time, and other then the worn torn vinyl on the arm of the desk chair, it was pretty much the same. I feel they could have updated the furniture and used the space a little better than it was, but that being said, I slept comfortable, had a mini refrigerator for my medications, and had a simple free breakfast downstairs each morning. There was a safe in the room, desk and TV with the standard single cup coffee pot, ironing board, and a writing desk. The air conditioner worked very well and the lamps had electrical outlets on them to help from finding one behind the night stand or bed. The rooms were very clean and the housekeepers were very sweet and willing to provide extra towels and coffee. The front desk personnel were very cordial. There is a swimming pool, laundry room, and a small conference room on the first floor. If you like Pizza Hut, there is one right next door! They even deliver to your room! This hotel is centrally located on the Miracle Strip and across the Main Street from the interior beach with a great view both ways. This place is far from a luxury hotel, but on a middle class retired persons budget, it was great compared to what I've paid for in the past. I would recommend this place to all my friends and family and will most likely stay here again when I visit Ft Walton Beach, Florida.
Staff was very friendly. Room was very clean. Breakfast same as most hotels with the rubber fake eggs but there was quiet a variety of other foods. Coffee in rooms was better than some other places. Good clean microwave and compact refrigerator. I would say only complaint was king bed kind of sank in middle but was not too bad. Arm of desk chair was peeling pretty bad. Chlorine from inside pool really strong.
I stayed at the Comfort Inn in Fort Walton the last weekend in July with my sister and my two kids. The hotel was great. Easy drive to the beach and shops. FWB had a lot of seaweed so we drove to Destin for beach activities. Not a bad drive. I'm not a picky person. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was great. The lady who ran the breakfast was on top of her game and the food was continually refilled no matter how many people were in the breakfast room. The hotel is right next door to a Pizza Hut. So you can easily walk over and eat or pick up a pizza. We had a good experience there too. All I need in a hotel is for it to be clean and safe and this hotel fit the bill. All in all we had a great stay. 10/10 Would stay again.
Due to a travel snafu I found myself without a reservation in a beach city during the height of the travel season. I was looking for "any port in a storm," and chose this hotel randomly. I was very grateful that they had a room available. The staff was friendly though seemed to be stressed (understandably) and the room was nice enough for the price. All the guests I saw while I was there was families with children including children sitting and playing unsupervised in the hallway. But the rooms were quiet and I got a good night's sleep there.
There were good points and bad points to our stay here. Unfortunately the bad outweighs the good. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were always ready to greet you with a smile. The breakfast was good. There was a nice variety of options and they kept things filled. The location was pretty good. It was easy to reach the beach and sights. The first impression upon walking in was the overwhelming smell of chlorine from the indoor pool. Then our room was not cleaned properly. There was dirt and a sticky substance in the refrigerator. There was a hair tie from a previous guest or employee on the floor and some mess on the armchair. It had a desk, but no chair to go with it. The bathroom ceiling had mold or mildew all over the ceiling. The main complaint I have is that it is extremely overpriced for what they give you.
I am not very picky when it comes to hotels, but this one definitely did not meet my expectations. The Bad: Our room made us uncomfortable: there was a huge dead coach roach on the floor when we arrived, the walls did not look clean, (it almost looked like bug guts smeared on the walls in multiple places.) The carpet was DIRTY - our feet got black every time we walked barefoot. The "pull out couch" was terrible - it was a very very thin, stained mattress that let every single spring poke right through to your back, and it sagged badly in the middle. Our bath tub did not have a drain plug, so we asked the staff for one so my son could take a bath and when they arrived someone was in the shower so we asked them if they could come back in a few minutes and they never came back. Our curtain was broken but we fixed it. The Good: Friendly staff, especially the chef tending to the breakfast bar. Free breakfast which was good, (breakfast included waffles, eggs, bagels, juice, bacon or sausage, etc.) Indoor pool. 10 minute drive to the beach. Ice and vending machine on our floor. Decent window view of part of the bay (we stayed on the 4th floor. The queen beds were comfortable and they gave us plenty of pillows. Toilet and shower/tub appeared pretty clean. Mini fridge in room. Quiet - we never heard noisy neighbors or hallway noise.
Complete in room comfort affordable price coffee set and refrigerator. Great free breakfast with a eatery caterer that provided food for the late ones she was kind Letty she was. Breakfast was a continental. I enjoyed apple juice grits, eggs, sausage, bacon, apples, waffles, strawberry waffles, chocolate muffins, banana muffins. Letty served with joy and sense of humor for the unnecessary worries. Service receptionist were straightforward.
This hotel has all the amenities that I search for in a hotel room. The room was clean. The only complaint I have is they only left one bath towel each time they cleaned. We had two dirty towels our first day, so you would think they would have figured out we needed TWO bath towels. We couldn't call to have one brought to our room because they would not answer the phone, so my husband had to go from the fourth floor back down to the lobby to get one.
The bathroom and beds were clean and fresh beds and pillows were reasonably comfortable. The floor could have been cleaner, though wasn't totally gross. My room served my needs. The staff was quite wonderful.
