Issues with property manager

The house was great! Location was perfect! Everything was amazing until we were stranded on the golf cart in the rain. The properly manger was rude and unhelpful. We were informed there was no maintenance staff working on the island and we needed to walk. We were capable of walking but frustrated by the lack of assistance. We were under the impression that the management club was on the island. It’s not managed by The Island Club. The owner just pays for access to the club’s amenities. We continued to have golf cart issues. The charge only lasted 10 min. We were told we were using the wrong charger. Maintenance showed up and told us it was working fine and we were using the right charger. We were then told “the batteries are lithium and have problems in the water”. The batteries are not lithium. They were compared to a Tesla… I have a Tesla it is fine in the puddles. I have attached a phot of the batteries. Other golf carts were getting along fine on the island. We did talk to someone who said when golf carts are on “the way out” they can struggle in rain and water. Had the property manager been kind and offered us some sort of alternate transportation when there is no other way to get around the island, this would have been no big deal. She rudely told us “most people enjoy the experience of remote living”. Yeah… remote living is great but walking to the only restaurants on the island when promised a working golf cart was very discouraging. House amazing!

A wonderful place to relax

When you arrive on the island, you feel like you're in another world. Incredible nature: we saw turtles, numerous bird species and even manetees while kayaking.The house is inviting and only a few meters from the beach where we spent a lot of time.The facilities are good, the beds incredibly comfortable. The host was always available for questions via WhatsApp.

The home was clean and bright.

Stayed here with my family over New Years and had a wonderful time. The island itself is still being cleaned up from the hurricane but was not a problem. And the home was renovated and complete by the time we arrived. Thank you. A few houses down from the beach was perfect location. The golf cart was fun to use to explore the island and drive to the club.

Beautiful property on a beautiful island! The property was very nice and clean. Host answered questions very quickly. I do think the damage deposit is very high and I was a little stressed about the refund process (which is VRBO not the host). The refund took a full 2 weeks from VRBO. I’m only including that fact in this review in case anyone else is curious about it.

Vacaciones inolvidables

Es segunda vez q nos quedamos en la isla. Y esta es la mejor propiedad en la que hemos estado. La casa es perfecta. Tiene todo lo necesario para disfrutar de una maravillosa estancia. Muchos juegos de mesa, juegos de patio. Un jacuzzi maravilloso. Puedes hacer s’mores en la noche. Hay de todo tiene una gran cantidad de productos de aseo, de baño, de cuarto. La cocina perfectamente equipada. En general es la casa perfecta. Además la atención de Gaby fue espectacular. Responde al instante cualquier duda o necesidad q tengas. Pienso repetir el próximo año y 100% recomendada.

Peaceful and cozy

Perfect house with plenty of games and outdoor activities to do at the house, very short and beautifully scenic walk to the beach with the trees and mangroves, the kids loved the pools and July 4 activities. The host was easy to communicate with—with quick responses. The shelves were stocked with snacks should we need them, other essentials in the house made it easy for us to cook. A basket with sunscreen and bug spray was available as well. Wagons to take to beach as well as chairs. This house had all we needed and more. Highly-highly recommend!

Perfect Island getaway

This house was perfect for our group. There were plenty of beach towels, bags to use to take to the beach and indoor/outdoor games. The beds & linens were extremely comfortable! The house is very private & peaceful. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing after long days of activities & quite large. The house was stocked with snacks, food & everything we needed for cooking. They even have a waffle maker! The only thing we needed for smores was the chocolate. It even has popcorn tubs for a movie night! The host was wonderful! She made sure we had everything we needed and check in & out was a breeze! Thank you for all of the thoughtful amenities, we will definitely be coming back to stay again!

25th anniversary

It was everything we hoped for and more. We’ve never seen a home so stocked and ready to just come in and feel at home. Unfortunately I got sick on the trip and had to seek help from the fire department as to what the process would be to see a physician but other than that we consider the trip a huge blessing. Would definitely recommend this home.

A great time!

We had a great time at this property and plan to return! It was very clean and had many of the things you need so we didn’t have to pack! The beach is very close and an easy walk! The golf cart is left at where the ferry drops you off so it’s easy to get to the house and saves you money. We were very impressed by everything. Thank you!!!

Perfect place for our small group

Many of the homes are still being repaired on the island so it was nice to find a place that was up and running. Host stocked a lot of snacks, coffee and spices that really helped our stay.

Beautiful getaway

This place was the perfect get a way for my 15 year old daughter and I. We love the beach and the island was nice to spend time together. The house was very clean and had so many games and things to do. Gaby was wonderful. We will definitely be going back.

Family friendly

We had a wonderful stay at this home! It was incredibly family friendly, stocked with tons of games and beach supplies! The location was absolutely perfect, a short walk to the beach and quick golf cart ride to Mangos. We were pleasantly surprised with how clean and well stocked the home was! Gaby was easy to talk to and very responsive. We hope to be back soon!

Fantastic stay

We had a fantastic stay at this property. The communication from Gaby and VRBO was perfect. The house was great. Just as advertised. Really comfortable and clean. The location is really good. We kept our boat in the marina so it was a 5 minute golf cart ride back and forth which was really easy. Also, walking to the beach was super easy. Can't wait to come back and stay on North Captiva again.

Paradise Found

We had such a wonderful time and are so glad we visited the island. The home was just a few steps away from the water. The recovery from the hurricane in 2022 is well underway and we are happy to be part of it. Not only was it a truly wonderful visit, but we cannot wait to return. The house was perfect for our family. The kitchen had tons of stuff to use for cooking including spices and supplies and there were plenty of towels for the beach and showers. There was laundry room too if you ran out of towels. The rooms were nice and the whole home was just very comfortable. We had access to a golf cart to scoot around the island which made it very fun. The hammock was perfect for an afternoon nap and there was ping pong, giant connect 4, and a few other games to play at the home. the hot tub was great, especially on the cool evenings. This trip really allowed us to relax and disconnect, especially since we arrived via ferry and could not just run out to get something. We were on island time for real and my only wish is that we didn't have to return to work and our boring lives not on a beautiful beach island :) Thank you for having us, we look forward to visiting again soon!!!
