Did not get the room I paid for. Staff did not service the room, feet dirty from floor. Bathroom vanity falling apart from water damage. I had to ask for fresh towels, trash bags, etc. Terrible experience

The Caroline/charter house hotel

Unfortunately we didn't stay at the charter house as I had booked. Upon arrival to check in I was informed we were staying at a sister hotel which was completely subpar. I wasn't given any previous communication with this to look for another place instead. The bathrooms were not cleaned. We had left over food in our refrigerator and the sheets had what looked like cigarette hole burns in them. As for the outside, most of the chairs were broken. There was a busted up grill sitting around and trash in general. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Nor would I ever stay with their company ever.

This place is comically bad. Not a single towel was available. No sheets for the pull out couch. Trash left in the drawers including tampons. Exposed screw sticking out was a hazard. Refrigerator motor started making a loud noise in the middle of night.

The property needs a lot of updating and the hygiene level is very low. There is some serious need to pay attention to the cleanliness of the room because i couldn't even sleep on the bed how dirty everything was. The location is amazing otherwise but the management needs to do some upgrading for this place, they can charge more and people will come back in that case.

All of the ads showing the property and the room photos are not accurate and misleading. Mold and wet areas under windows, poorly patched, no tv, rotted out outside BBQ grill .. Plus we got out car towed because they said i was parked on the wrong spot!!!

I didn’t like the fact that after the office told me to come and go to Room 1 and when went, There were already a group of girls inside the room. All I know I didn’t get a chance to stay inside a room that I booked with my hard earned money. And I want my Refund.

The bathroom had mold and when I called to let them know nothing was done. I called repeatedly with no answer. Upon going to the office which is in another location there was no one available in the office! Very unprofessional and the room was disgusting.

was forced to sleep in my car rental

worst experience ive ever had in my 43 yrs of travelling. the checkin instructions email states checkin starts at 3pm. does not state an end to checkin at all. i booked the room last minute at 6:28pm (we were unsure how far we could drive so we waited to book a room) ... we arrived at 9:45pm and checkin is at another property 4 min walk away. no one there. lights off. called the provided ph# about 8-10 times from 2 different phones. no answer. called hotels.com gold line and was 1st advised they will relocate us at No charge (bc they could not reach the property either). they come back to the line with all kinds of excuses.. first trying to claim the email states the checkin, it does not also i made the bkg at 6:28pm and allegedly its already closed by then so why accept my bkg?? due to an event, the entire fort lauderdale in a 30 mile radius was SOLD OUT (or wayyyyyy out of our budget for a few hours to sleep indoors. hotels.com says we will need to pay for any difference in fare. so after driving over 17 hours, we had to "sleep" in the car rental. the most inconsiderate bs ive ever experienced and i work in the travel industry since 2008 so I know what im doing. they were trying to blame me. no future courtesy credit was offered and im still waiting on the refund for my prepaid bkg. needless to say "ths charter house" is at the top of my sh*t list. location is awesome but not if we cant get inside the room people.

We drove all the way from jacksonville and hit a lot of traffic getting to the hotel about 5 mins late and was told we couldt check in so we found other lodging very disappointing and staff was extremely disrespectful and when we tried leaving they even tried blocking us in and started honking the horn at us and we only wanted to go to the hotel we booked after this extreme disappointment. Id syay away from this place highly not recommended to stay there!!!!
