my flight was cancelled and needed a place close to airport to crash for a few hrs. so i looked on my phone, found hotel haven and it looked decent. I arrive and the lobby seems fine, clean and soda avail for purchase. the clerk gives me the code for the room (would be curious to know how often this code is changed especially for single female travelers safety). I go to the room (12 I believe) and immediately smell mildew/mold smell and i put on light and see roaches climbing the walls. I was in the room for barely 45 seconds and saw at least FIVE of them. I took my bag and go back to the clerk and demand my money back. He did give me a credit back on my card but I also called the bank to file a dispute. How can this place remain open with all the health hazards!
Decided to spend 1 night after long flight.Arrived at hotel at just after 10pm and after checking in to room 12,decided to take shower. The hot water, towels and soap, shampoo etc was sufficeint. The door to the bathroom was broken so getting in and out was difficult because it was a cheap ply door whole ply was loose and kept getting stuck to the frame. The smell was musty because of old carpets. I was awoken in middle of night with things crawling on me and when i put the lights on oh yes there were the roaches. I actually had to place my bags suspended and after dusting sheets and bed tried sleeping. Do not even try to make coffee as the roaches were all inside the coffee maker. In the morning as I was checking and packing my bags there were roaches all inside my bags so I had to throw my toothbrush, toothpaste and everything out as I cleaned out the busy critters. That was my first and last stay at this hotel. Photos online are totally different to rooms in actuality.
Being i had a flight arriving late before the cruise I booked this. On The Haven Hotel Website it showed a major nice tall building. OK>>So when I got to the hotel and saw it I was like wtf is this the right place. Then during check in the clerk said because they are aware of possible id thief omg that caused me to pay in cash. The room was ok small TV but it was only for a few hours.
We had a late flight into FLL, arriving past midnight and needed somewhere to stay before heading to Miami the next day. Reading between the lines: we needed a place to crash a cheap cab ride from the airport. Location for what we were looking for was great, about a $12 cab ride from FLL. There is no 24 hr front desk as advertised, but they were still able to accommodate our late arrival since we let them know in advance. The room is basic, but does include a fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom was somewhere you won't want to spend more time than to do only what is absolutely necessary. It could definitely use a good retiling or at least a regrouting. It was clean enough, probably as clean as one could get it considering what it was, so I wouldn't fault the cleaning staff. Wifi signal was not useable from our room, which was not even the furthest from the office. But we only needed it to hail our Uber, which we did from just outside the office. If you're staying longer than a day, that could be quite an inconvenience so bear that in mind. All in all it worked.
The place was clean at least, but the door looked like it had been kicked in a few times and had ragged gaps at the bottom. The bed was stiff as a board. The shower head was so low I had to bend my knees a lot to wash my hair, and I'm not tall. Strange person knocked at the door in the morning asking if we had called for a cab. Would not stay here again.
I just spent one night in this small hotel, but was a good experience. When I arrive I met the receptionist who was a girl, very kind and friendly person. She told me everything of the hotel and give some advices of how to get some places where I had to go. It was nice and very important the time that she dedicated to me..to assist me. Thanks for that. I appreciate that. The hotel is near to the airport just 10 minutes by taxi. I had to go to the airport the next morning at 3.30am so she was sweet and arranged a taxi for me(uber) which is a good option and price. The room was nice, cleaning excellent. So it's a good place to stay. It's recommendable. Thanks for all..
Pros: Extremely close to the Airport and Port Everglades. Air con. Cofee machine, microwave and fridge. Helpful staff. We arrived early and reception allowed us to leave our bags while we went and got some breakfast. Close to car hire. Wifi... Cons: Wifi didn't consistently reach our room. Our bed was old, uncomfortable and very noisy. Not much in the way of food and drink nearby - 15/20 minutes walk to the nearest supermarket, 10/15 minutes walk to the nearest diner. Not sure if it was wood-rot or termite damage I could see on the wooden skirtings. Paint bubbling in places. Venetian blinds weren't quite wide enough for the window which let a bit of street light in and didn't offer much privacy. Tip: if arriving from the airport or port, you could try take the SixT shuttle to the car hire and just disappear but only if it's busy. It'll save you a $20 fleecing from a cabbie.
I needed a cheap room to catch an early flight. The room was a dump...but, mostly clean. No smoke detector. No sprinkler system. The room was 8 x 10...NO window. Entrance in an alley. Looks nothing like the website photos. Lesson learned. Do not stay in room #9! There is secure wifi and cable tv.
This is a nasty bit of a place. I checked in and was offered the room with the best A/C, the most quiet room and Wi-Fi. The room was extremely humid and very cold. Everything feels damp. The mini-fridge decided to release water on the floor for no apparent reason. The room is small, oddly shaped, a single ceiling light but no bedside light. Inconvenient electrical outlets and light switches, a very tiny television set on the wrong ratios allowing me to see about two thirds of the picture. There was a cable remote but no TV remote to correct the settings which the owner claims was stolen. Took a fall while following the front desk guy and got scraped up nicely. This is the first hotel that required me to pay a $50 pet fee for my ESA. Spoke to the owner and expect a refund for the pet fee in the morning. He did a refund this morning. This is an old building. Weather sealing the place is not a high priority nor is sound proofing. It is in a very noisy location close to the airport. No phones in the room. Bathroom not air-conditioned and the window doesn't close. This place is an insult to the motel/hotel community.
The room had their mattresses in bad shape. The room smelled bad, broken walls and floor tiles. In the closet we found construction materials. There was no such thing as a continental breakfast at the hotel. Do not book a room at this place.
