This place was so charming. Our host checked in by text before arrival and part way through our stay to see if we needed anything. The bikes were so much fun. There were 2 provided on property. A must have on Folly. It was easy to get around the island and fun to explore while riding. We also rented a Golf Cart which made the whole island experience even better. The hot tube was clean and perfect for our windy sunsets. The pickle ball courts down the road were within walking distance but regularly busy. Hot Pursuit Donuts is a new truck on Center Street and will not disappoint you. They are a must have!The Roku TV made streaming so convenient. The beach is walking distance for adults but maybe need a wagon for little kids. We would definitely stay here again.

Folly Marsh House was the perfect post holiday wind-down spot for us; quiet and chill with gorgeous views of the marsh. The house was super comfy and cozy with the heat cranking when the temperatures outside dropped. The hot tube, fire pit and outdoor lights provide the ideal setting for enjoying the beautiful outdoor space. Beds and linens were great. Don't forget your pickle ball set; the courts are super close as well as a playground and basketball courts. This house is perfectly situated for a short walk to the beach, Berts Market, restaurants and coffee shops. Make sure you check out nearby McLeod Plantation. We definitely want to come back and recommend this spot to others. The host was thoughtful to check in with us pre-check in and was super responsive to answer questions. Thank you Folly Beach Marsh House. We will be back.

Property was very secluded and cozy, but still super close to everything, which was absolutely perfect and just what we were looking for. We loved being surrounded by nature and the quietness. Definitely recommend this property for those looking to just escape for a little bit!

This is undoubtedly a lovely property… but we unfortunately had an ABSURDLY bad check-in experience that really took away from the trip. We were met upon arrival by the local gas compan,y who stated there was a gas leak and then came into the property, inspected, and shut off the hot water as he said it wasn’t up to code. He would not get out of the property even after this, and my sisters and I were frightened and annoyed as we just wanted to relax and shower after a long drive. The rental contact person responded after about 30 minutes of us dealing with the gas company alone, and they were all continuously in the house (along with the gas company) for hours after that. Really not how we wanted to kick off the first night of our already short girls’ trip. We really liked the house, but just unbelievably bad experience arriving at the house. They did credit us back about 8% of the total cost but that obviously doesn’t help the time and enjoyment that was disrupted.

Charming beach home you won’t want to leave!

Matthew’s marsh view property was secluded and peaceful. With amenities like the hot tub, fire pit, outdoor shower, screened in patio and and bikes you literally never want to leave. We had a girls weekend and it was so rejuvenating to relax on the porch swing on the patio and listen to the rain or watch the birds of the marsh. The hot tub was a wonderful way to start our days. The house is charming with a wonderful amenities but it is charming because of its age and location! Be aware water pressure of showers are that of a beach house! Beach and downtown folly in walking distanc, pickleball courts not even 3 blocks away at the park. We loved our stay and can’t recommend this location enough for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation home to be cozy and scenic.

Such a perfect beach getaway!

We had such a great stay and will be back! The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The views are incredible- we lived on the porch swing. The beach was a 5 minute walk and a 2 minute golf cart ride. The owner was super responsive and gave us great restaurant recommendations. The golf cart which is available for rental was a great way to get around the crowded main areas. Highly recommend!

Awesome place !

This home is great! It is on the marsh with a great backyard and views. The street is a dead end and very little cars. The owner, Matthew is quick to respond before, during and after my stay. When I arrived, washer was broke, new one came the next day. The photos on the site doesn't do this place justice. It's actually 3 bedrooms(listed as 2). Good stocked kitchen. Extras like the golf cart and hot tub are a great bonus. Other extras-puzzles, kid books, beach chairs, sand toys.Highly recommend and we will return!

Folly Beach vacation

We were lucky enough to pick this place for our visit to Folly and historic sites in Charleston. Plenty of room, very clean, and great location for visiting the beach and plenty of food options. Would love to come back and stay longer!

Stunning Views

This property has it all. Great location to downtown Folly, yet nestled in and away from it all overlooking the marsh and Folly River. The golf cart was a fun bonus. I would highly recommend staying here for a laid back and great vibe vacation.

Cottage Family Trip

Cottage like home nestled away on a private street. Great proximity to the beach. Golf cart was a nice perk. Loved the back screened in porch. Screens need some repairs. Lots of mosquitoes. Frogs in the pond are very LOUD at night. Beautiful natural noise but it kept everyone from sleeping soundly. Not as clean as I had hoped from the reviews.

Family Beach Trip

The house was just as advertised, which is always a nice surprise. It was rustic but very clean and nice. The location was perfect, overlooking the marsh on the backside of the island. It was nice to be able to escape the sand and enjoy the screened-in porch and great views. The beach is about a 60-second cart ride with reserved cart parking. I would definitely rent this place again.
