My wife and I loved our quaint little room on the top floor. While it was not a big room it was very nice, comfortable and well appointed. It is a great room for couples (1 flight of steep stairs). The hotel staff was very nice and had a good breakfast as well.
Not a place we would stay again. The Hotel staff were friendly and helpful though. The hotel was very dark and dank, also had a musty smell. The room was very dark and the TV had no English speaking channels. The sound between rooms was also very clear and loud so we could hear the next doors tv and even a normal tone of voice as clear as day. The breakfast was average and the space you were sat in was small and in the same small room as the front desk. I would advise anyone who has issues walking stairs to think twice, they did have a lift after the first flight of stairs but it could just fit two people and we are small to normal sized people. On the other hand if you only need a good location this is the place.
Visited the hotel on 25th & 26th May 2017, Location is excellent for everything. Check in was smooth and pleasant with lots of helpful information given, including a map of the city, Only negative, if you can call it negative,, was the hotel reception is on the 1st floor, there are about 6 steps up to the lift if you cant carry your case, Room 33 was lovely, spacious, well decorated and had everything you needed. Beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is adequate, there are lots of choices, you can have scrambled egg or sausage, but it's mostly cold food ie hams, cheese breads, cereals etc. you can eat as much as you want. We didn't have any view from this room, but we only slept there so not a big deal. I would definitely stay here again.
We go to Florence every year in January and we always stay at the Strozzi Hotel. Our most recent visit was in January 2017 for two weeks. The hotel is centrally located for seeing the beauty Florence has to offer. You could not ask for better. If you wish to eat nearby, try the self service cafeteria around the corner which serves delicious home cooking at great prices. Our hotel room was perfect: clean, well heated, with a large bathroom and comfortable beds. Breakfasts featured a wide choice of offerings (coffee, juices, sweet cakes, toast, cereals, eggs, cold cuts, fresh fruit, and yogurt) and was served in a tastefully decorated area. The most appealing feature was the friendly staff. The hotel is not huge so they get to know the guests and are always willing to help. They made us feel as if we were at home away from home. Besides greeting us every day, they were very knowledgeable. They will assist guests in any way they can. When one of us took a bad fall on the street (with a bloody forehead which didn't require emergency care) they went out of their way to help. They calmed us down and offered tea as well as bandages and disinfectant to take to our room. We will never forget their kindness.
We had two rooms for three nights on 26-28 April. The accommodation was excellent. Staff could not have been more helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The hotel was in a great location in the centre of Florence. I would definitely rate this hotel 4 star and would not hesitate to return.
This hotel chosen as close to centre. The room was classed as a superior double at the front of the building on the 4th floor. Large spacious room nicely decorated with comfortable bed. Shower was over bath type. Sprayed water everywhere and flooded floor. We had noticed hundreds of motor scooters parked in the street. Assumed belonged to commuters. On 4th and 5th nights of our stay, Friday and Saturday, we were proved wrong. The riders and their voices appeared on the street and disturbed the whole night! Engines revving, shouting, bangs, all amplified upwards to the high floor front rooms. Breakfast was extremely mediocre. There is a very limited space for any food preparation, hence only tinned pineapple and prunes. Some pretty old apples in a dish. Dried up scrambled eggs and chopped frankfurters. The breakfast was at odds with the star rating and needs a really drastic revamp to be acceptable. The housekeeping in the hotel was excellent. The hotel is extremely close to all the main tourist attractions and within easy walking distance from railway station. The reception desk were extremely helpful with maps and directions.
On arrival we were greeted with wine, nibbles and two upgraded rooms on the 4th floor. The staff were extremely helpful, the rooms were clean (huge) and comfortable. The breakfast was basic continental and adequate. The location is perfect, no more than 100m from the Duomo. If there is one down-side our room (street side) the bins and streets are cleaned and emptied around 6.30am so it is a bit noisy at that time - but no problem if you want to make an early start.
I am not able to rate higher than 5 hence giving this hotel a 5. It is a small quaint hotel. The rooms are very tastefully done in royal blue. Large and extremely comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is a small hotel with very limited rooms. They offer cold breakfast. The spread is limited but good. Location is great as it is close to the station and all the important sights of Florence are all in walking distance. Plenty of good restaurants all around the hotel.
Pros: -Location was within close walking distance of most major attractions. It was also a 5 minute cab ride from the train station we arrived in. -Beautiful room that was good sized and well decorated. Comfortable beds, and awesome shower. The high tech shower had multiple nozzle settings that provided with a wonderful shower at the end of the day. Good breakfast buffet. Very clean room, and the minibar in the room refrigerator actually had reasonable prices.
Beautiful historical in the middle of Florence close to the Duomo and the famous landmarks. It is close to the train station about a 15 minute walk and 5 minutes from all the glamorous shopping of Gucci, Louis Vuitton, & etc. The staff was courteous and good breakfast buffet. Definitely a must stay and well-recommended.
