Smashing Florence Hotel

A wonderful stay, lovely hotel. It’s nice and quiet, just 5-10 minute walk to central Florence. Staff friendly and attentive. Good continental breakfast. Rooms clean and comfortable and individually decorated which adds to its charm. Would highly recommend.

Lovely place to stay

Jaada was wonderful as was Andrea and the other woman with dark hair at the front counter (I'm sorry I can't remember her name, she was French). I had a bit of a problem with my room, leaking pipes left the carpet wet around the tub but Andrea helped with that. One day used pillow cases were left on my suitcase, no coffee was left and the toilet brush and plunger were left on the toilet. She must have been in a hurry that day.

After a long search for stays in Florence, we landed on AdAstra. The name means “to the stars” in Latin which caught my attention, and it checked a couple of our boxes, having a large bathtub and being situated south of the Arno. We weren’t quite sure that we’d have access to a terrace, but we did (in the Exclusive Double Room), and it was so lovely. We enjoyed absolutely everything about our stay, from the breakfast (continental and can get repetitive but is included in the stay, fresh, and includes cappuccino or whatever coffee drink you’d like) to the extraordinarily helpful staff, who were willing to help with everything (including dinner reservations). The property itself is beautiful beyond words and a mix of classic Florentine architecture and modern decor. There are books everywhere to pique your interest, in the room and common area. The area is relatively quiet and surrounded by lovely neighborhood restaurants; we ate at one restaurant in the more touristy area north of the river and decided that we would not do that again! We were always pleased to return to our little sanctuary after exploring Florence and Tuscany during the day. This place is simply amazing and I would absolutely stay again. Thanks AdAstra team for making our vacation unforgettable!

Unique, chic stately home vibe with lovely spacious rooms, yummy continental breakfast, unobtrusive, friendly and helpful staff. Super convenient location just 10 mins walk from Santo Spirito, Palazo Pitti and Ponte Vecchio yet quiet, non touristy and good neighbourhood restaurants. Would highly recommend for those wanting something boutique and high quality but not needing the facilities of a ‘standard’ hotel.

I found it odd that on their social media they promote the garden setting but what you realize when you arrive is this is someone’s house and their garden. You are not allowed to walk around. Not exactly the most hospitable ‘hotel’. Great location but a bit funky. Could use a major upgrade to the interiors.

A Wonderful Experience

It was a pleasure to stay in this beautiful old building. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. It is an easy walk to the main tourist attractions and there are many lovely small restaurants within a five minute walk from the hotel. We were delighted with our decision to stay here.
