The pictures on the website are very misleading. This Hotel is barely fit for habitation. It appears that only part of the structure is the hotel, I think a large part of it is derelict. Opening the curtains in my room exposed a strange setup of mirrored glass, used to disguise the view. How on earth they can claim to be a four star hotel I have no idea. Avoid.
The hotel lobby is very nice but the rooms need renewal works. The food is good and the breakfast is OK, however, the restaurant also needs some re-working. The personnel is excellent and really helpful. The rooms near the train railways are too noisy. The window notice of not leaving it open in a 5th floor looks really unsecure.
We had to stay in this hotel two nights. It was difficult to get a reservation near the airport and even after not being thrilled with it the first time, it was the most convenient hotel available the second time. The staff are very gracious and helpful. Both of our rooms were designated "non-smoking" and both smelled of stale smoke. The carpets in both rooms were threadbare. Both rooms felt shabby and dirty. In one of the bathrooms there were several strands of hair in the tub. One of the rooms was located on the ground floor, so for security, the window did not open. I had coffee and a pastry in the restaurant one morning. It was overpriced and the pastry was stale. I would not recommend staying here.
We stayed here in order to make an early flight from Florence. The hotel room was large with a balcony and good size bathroom. The restaurant had a good menu. The hotel was 10 minutes from the airport.
It is a mirage. Looks decent on line but is terrible......every single thing about this hotel is terrible. Staff were unpleasant and less than helpful. Location is awful and a 30 minute ride to the city. The restaurant looks like an old rundown banquet room off the lobby. Completely over priced!! Do not stay here !! Keep looking, there has to be something better than this place
As titled it was an unexpected stay due to travel agent error. Upon arriving the hotel looked a little tired, but when inside that was better than expected. We were happy with our room on level 5 and had a balcony view over the hills. The room was clean and tidy with a lovely super king bed and a suitable bathroom too. Breakfast was good with a wide selection of cheese, meat, and pastries too. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Only gripe was that there was the lack of tea/coffee/milk in the room. No coffee at all and when requested for sachets, they said they didnt do them, rather odd for Italy who drink lots of it. We did however have some tea of which wasn't replaced once we had used some. Strange! Overall we had a pleasant stay and was good value for money too.
I read previous reviews after I booked which scared the life out of me (whores outside, toilets not working, dirty bed linen, mosquitos etc). But the receptionist was really nice and booked me an extra night when my flight got cancelled later in the stay. It messed my key card up though twice which meant 2 trips from 6th floor to ground. It is very dated -1970s style. It is very close to the airport (but so is the Ibis which I'll stay again next time I'm here). I was in a back facing room - only noise was the train track but they don't run late/early. Had a balcony but no furniture. Nothing in the mini bar so I got beer and food from LIDL (15 min walk away) to fill it with. The breakfast is OK - all you can eat for €7.50 which works out cheaper than local places (I got a sandwich, OJ and coffee for €7 down the street) and the local McDs doesn't open til 10am. I failed to take heed of the mosquito warnings and got bit 4 times on 1st night. On 2nd night I hunted down and killed 4 of them (see pics). On 3rd day I asked maid for fly spray just in case and got another one (tip - do not leave balcony door open and bring repellent). Don't know why they are there - hardly sub Saharan Africa! Not a 4 star hotel - more a 2/3. Not cheap either - Mon and Tues were €120 each plus rip off city tax of €4.5 (double that of Rome), but extra night was €160 (maybe as she knew I was in need). It gets inundated with coaches of tourists who clog up reception and the (painfully slow) lifts so avoid them.some good restaurants nearby are Aliosous and Ossetia Della Bistecca - cheaper than hotel dinner (€30) which I didn't try. In summary the Mosquitos ruined it for me - hence the warning to others .
The staff really makes up for a number of deficiencies in the physical property. While everything worked in the room and the beds and linens were good, the overall property is showing a lot of wear. The property is close to the airport and an easy walk from nearby restaurants. It is a good choice for a cheap place to stay when you are catching an early morning flight and just need to get some rest. Again, a lot of credit goes to the front desk staff in making the stay a good experience.
Two friends and myself were flying out of Florence in the early morning and needed a place to stay for the night. This place was perfect. They let our friends who drove us to the hotel park there for the day while we explored. They also were very helpful when we first arrived getting us bus tickets and printing off a voucher to use at one of our stops. They also helped us set up a shuttle to take to the airport the next morning. They met our needs quite well. Nothing fancy, but a great place to sleep for the night.
I spent a night here mainly because of the hotel's proximity to the airport. The room was a bit small but comfortable enough. Breakfast had a decent choice as well. Not the best hotel I've stayed at, but not the worst either.
