The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We spent time in breakfast cafeteria meeting the staff and having fantastic conversations meeting new people and new perspectives. Close to Mercato Centrale we walked and found many delicious food choices and were lucky enough to experience live music that evening middle of lots of art and basilicas was a nice few days wandering around. I could do without the high end shopping in the middle of the old beauty
We are so happy we stayed at Hotel La Scala for our four-night stay in Florence. We chose this hotel due to the location, but the real charm is how the staff make you feel so welcome. Prior to arrival we received a personalized with details of our stay (not a canned message) and the staff take the time to get to you know you during your stay. Before retiring for the first night, we were asked to share our breakfast preferences from a selection of options, and the breakfast was made to order. This is not only practical to avoid the hotel from wasting food, but the personalized service was a great way to start the day. The location of the hotel is close to the train station and within walking distance of most attractions. A BIG THANK YOU to the staff for contributing to a memorable vacation.
Walkable from train station. Staff is very flexible and reachable via Whstsup. Lift is tiny only one person can go and need to how to get in and how to get out
Great hotel for the price. Comfortable room for family of 4. Nice renovated bathroom. Nice breakfast included. Location is great, close to the train station, and walking distance from everything. Importantly, very nice people managing the hotel. Recommended!
Lovely staff. Great location. Feels like a bed and breakfast.
Conveniently located right near the train station. However, I walked back and forth in front of the building three times before realizing I was in the right place. There is only a small sign on the building wall. The hotel is in a very old building, on the second floor (third floor to Americans) There is no elevator so you have to ring a bell to be buzzed in through a metal gate. I had to lug a huge suitcase up four long flights of stairs, then ring another bell to get in. The hotel is small, but the room was fairly nice and clean, having been recently renovated, and the bathroom is even better than the room. There were no grounded outlets in the bedroom, so I had to charge my laptop in the bathroom. Breakfast starts too late, at 8 a.m., and was just okay, not enough fruit or other healthy options. However, on my last night, my key didn't work in the front door, and I waited outside on the stairs for almost 40 minutes, unable to get in. I rang the bell, called the hotel front desk multiple times, but no one answered. Luckily another guest came back to the hotel whose key worked. The hotel manager called my room to apologize, saying he was in another one of the properties when I rang the bell. If the hotel is going to be locked at all times, then there should be someone at the desk at all times. On the positive side, the two young men who run the hotel are very nice, and the location is great. Incredible fresco on building ceiling.
