Fantastic accommodation, the position is perfect and the rooms are clean, comfortable and really stylish . The room we had has a huge king bed , Central Air condition that can be easily adjusted to your temperature, a bath and a shower, nee vintage style and amazing pictures on the walls. To us its a a 5 star.
My room is cheap, clean, big and smell good. They use a lot of SMN there. The breakfast is really good, hot and yummy bread. I need to say, if u are capable to pay more, the room is really big and awesome. Not my room, but wont regrets. Btw the earliest breakfest at 7:30. But they still pack bread and juice for us. Nice experience.
We booked a room in the Casa Howard for our stay in Florence and we were tremendously pleased with the accommodation. We had the Fireplace Room, which was lovely. The room itself was quite large, with big window that open to the typical Florentine small street. The bathroom alone was as large as an entire room in certain London hotels! Highly recommend for any travelers. Be sure to visit the website and ask which rooms are available, as each room is unique and they differ significantly in style and bed arrangements. The mix of modern amenities with classic furnishing and style really made for an excellent stay. Walking distance (<15 minutes) to Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, Palazzo Pilli, Ponte Vecchio and other great sights!
This was a wonderful place to stay in Florence. Extremely close to the train station, an easy walk. The place was very quirky, we stayed in the play room which was themed as a childs bedroom and had a rock climbing wall! A really large and spacious room. The location is just outside the main part of Florence however everything is still walking distance and an easy walk too. Staff were great and friendly! Wifi was a little slow at times - the only downfall.
We found this charming place online last minute. I was a little leary because of some of the reviews but took the chance and we were delighted. We were put in the black and white room which was very charming. If you are looking for 5 star four seasons type treatment..then this place isn't for you. It is better in my opinion. It's a complete B&B experience and charming atmosphere. Some complaints stated that it was old and worn but this is to be expected with any B&B because they can't control everything..Everything looked clean and well taken care of..We just noticed a little wear and tear on the couch in the room which wasn't a big deal.very clean and beautiful simple breakfast brought to your room. The staff is friendly and helpful. We put this on our list for #1 pick when in Florence. It was delightfully decorated and will return again.
The first thing I note is super welcoming and friendly receptionist, who kindly offered me a larger room with a separate entrance.)) in the room a beautiful bathroom with fireplace and claw foot bath, where, after a day walking through the gardens and attractions very helpful. The room is clean, bed is big, the interior in vintage style, I like it. The location is great, near the train station and close to the center too. Breakfast served in your room, you can also eat in the cafe opposite. Next time I will stay here.
Beautiful house in the center of Florence, friendly and helpful management, breakfast served in the room, comfortable beds and bathrooms presentable. Accepts animals up to 5kg.It has rooms for smokers.
The Good: 1) The staff is so friendly, helpful and accommodating, A+ 2) The location is really great if you want to be able to walk to/from train station with luggage and be easy walking distance to all the main sight seeing & eating places, A+ (and why we booked this place) 3) The rooms are inexpensive 4) Some rooms are good, some are not. The Bad: 1) I went into this knowing it was maybe "quirky" and that it is not a traditional hotel - I scoured pictures, read all kinds of reviews, checked the hotel's website etc and thought well ...how bad can it be, it's probably "ok" but my experience was it is just odd. Not "cool" odd, just odd. The Casa Howard website exudes this kind of high end feel and nice looking rooms but that is not what we encountered. 2) Our room was dated and smelled horrible. While the bathroom was inside the room, it was very small and very dark. In stark contrast ... our friend's room was upstairs and had been remodeled. It did not smell and the bathroom was bigger, new and their overall accommodation would have been fine for me - but not our room. We were on the first floor, I don't remember which room number. I can still imagine the smell and weird old furniture and such - I felt like I was in someone's house but not in a good way. The take away: For me (I won't be staying there again) but I would not advise staying there unless you could see/know which room you would be staying in. I didn't mind not having hotel staff (no big deal), or breakfast or that fact that you managed and handful of keys and a puzzle of doors to get in/out of building (security I guess) but I had a yucky-ish room and saw that there was a decent room so it's a crap shoot.
The location is excellent - very close to everything you want to see in Florence. The staff was friendly, the rooms are clean, and the toiletries come from the Farmacia Santa Maria Novella and smell wonderful. The bathroom was huge and had a lovely claw-foot tub. But...our room was a bit odd. It had a metal spiral staircase leading the bedroom that was a bit difficult to navigate at night or with bare feet. It also had a see-through floor which is not for anyone with a fear of heights or vertigo. The bathroom had a glass door with a curtain for privacy - why not just have a regular door? The breakfast was fine, but we didn't like having to set a time for delivery each day. That isn't the fault of the B&B - we just didn't realize that was the case and would have preferred to have a more relaxed schedule on our vacation. The TV was in the bedroom but it would have been nicer to have it on the ground level with the couch - especially since it had a very bright light on it. The room also felt a little damp, which could simply be because it rained a bit during our stay and it is an older building. Ultimately, while it has its charms, Casa Howard just wasn't a good fit for us.
Every room is different, but as we experienced three of them during our stay the one thing they seem to have in common is that they are a little tired decoratively and with some very strange and esoteric wall coverings. As they say this is not a hotel, the staff are wonderfully friendly and pleasant but are not there all the time. They serve breakfast in the room at a time of your choosing and it is competent if not seductive. Having a series of large doors and grilles to both enter and exit it feels safe, even in the absence of any staff after 8 or 9 o'clock. The rooms at the front overlook a busy road, although it was not too noisy for me it would be for some light sleepers. Most of the bathrooms are internal and windowless so feel a bit dark but are clean and the water in the taps is hot. There is wifi but it is not great. The location is near the station but on the edge of the main town heading out. The staff work hard keeping the place and the rooms clean and working but it could do with a refurb'. All in all it was over-priced for what we paid and we wouldn't stay again.
