Wonderful location, great service and atmosphere. I would suggest it both to couples and families. Bonus- you are right next door to the famous Officina Farmaceutica Santa Maria Novella! Don't forget to check it out!
We stayed for two nights and Casa Howard Guest House has been an absolute dream from the moment we rang the bell to come in. The location was a convenient stone’s throw away from Firenze SMN station which we arrived from with one luggage each. It was easy to navigate to and the building has a lift to help with the heavy luggage. We loved everything from the rustic keys and doors to the exquisite decoration of the Drawing Room Which we booked and would highly recommend. It comes with two queen size beds, a huge TV, three windows, comfy couch, a toilet, shower and hanging rack too. But what really made our stay here great has to be the warm and great hospitality from Edgar. (Hope we got his name right) He was a great help and when he knew we had an early day, he managed to get us breakfast still. :) Breakfast was great as can be seen from the picture. There are also a few great restaurants just downstairs. We are already planning our next visit back, and are definitely coming back to Casa Howard Guest House.
Great room, lots of hospitality from everyone. I loved the breakfast served in our room and that the house is close to the historical center of the town. We will gladly come back at Howard Guest house.
This guest house is individually and uniquely decorated. The location is safe and convenient. The room is comfortable and quiet. In room breakfast is delicious. Walk to all major attractions and restaurants.
Casa Howard is a very special experience. In this boutique hotel, each room has a different theme, with distinct decor and furnishings. The staff is helpful and friendly, communication in English is easy. Rooms are clean, well maintained, and quiet. Casa Howard is within easy walking-distance of the Florence Train Station, and also conveniently close to the Duomo. Highly recommended!
The staff were welcoming and polite. Clever management photos didn't give us an idea of the room we would have. On the website there are very few photos of our room though I notice one photo described it as 'deluxe double'. We certainly wouldn't describe it that way- more the cheapest room in the guest house. The shower was very basic- a painted cubicle, no tiling. It was kept clean. When we reported to the staff that the room was very cold, we were promptly given a heater, which was effective. Along with the decor of the room, some of the electrics were quirky too. For the price, so close to the centre of the city, it was ok- just!
Stayed here 3rd to 6th Nov. You must stay here if you are looking quirky, good value accommodation and you don’t need 24\7 attention. I stayed in the standard double camel room. Huge bed, clean, well presented, good bathroom, quiet and the staff who help are great. Good breakfast and privacy. GreT value for money and close to everything. Would heartily recommend. Great stay and would recommend to others including family and friends. Thank you Casa Howard.
service was slow and quality very poor, rooms are OK but does not seem to be maintained, for example phone was not working, they took it and never came back for the whole stay, table light bulb needed changing. the best thing about the place is that it is conveniently located but still I wouldn't go back again, I prefer a proper hotel.
We loved everything about our stay at Casa Howard. The location was perfect (about a 7 minute walk to the duomo), the room was so comfortable (we loved the bed/pillows and the vintage style tub!), especially for the price. And the staff were so kind and helpful -- we were on our honeymoon and the staff upgraded us to a premium room, which was such a treat! They also held our bags for us while we toured around on our last day before catching our train out. We also loved that it had all of the amenities of a hotel, but felt more unique than a hotel. Highly recommend!
the guest house is not great but it's good for Florence. In Florence, there doesn't seem to be many modern, comfortable hotels/B&B/guest houses. Casa Howard is good in comparison. the place is unique and rustic. it can be charming. the location is quite good as it is near Santa Maria Novella and the train station/bus depot. The surrounding area is quiet and safe. The rooms are generally adequate. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room that we had was quite cold at night as outside temperature dropped below 10. The room had a bit of a musky smell. The breakfast was quite nice. The TV has a good selection of English channels.
