We had stayed for two nights for my niece's 4th birthday. Everything was amazing from the time we were welcomed until we checked out. The staff at the restaurant are so welcoming and attentive. They sang happy birthday for the little one and she made us treat her like a princess 😂 We had buffet dinner which was Pacific Feast including lovo at $70pp. The buffet seemed limited with only a few selections and the same can be said for breakfast. Buffet area needs to be organised well as pastries and bread seem left out in the opposite area. Omelete can be greatly improved. A la carte dinner options are really limited and basic. We order a combination from both the restaurants. Full buffet dinner is only of selected nights which was a downside. The rooms were amazing. We stayed in beachfront ocean bures and the view was spectacular. Rooms need to include more information on resort services and activities. The pool is infront of the main buffet restaurant which is not desirable. Landscaping is an area of improvement. Definitely a recommend and truly amazing staff. Rating it 4/5, minus 1 for food 😊
We had the best time at this hotel – and it was all because the staff truly made us feel welcome! From the moment we got to the hotel at the radically early hour of 6am …everything went right. We were informed that we had been upgraded to a huge suite and that they would take our bags up as soon as the room was ready. We assumed it would be several hours before we got in the room as check in was 3pm- nope! We were in our room before 8am! The food and service were simple excellent every day of our 5 day stay. Rooms were clean quiet and kept well stocked. At one point my kids and I were walking around with a coconut we found on a beach. One of the hotel security came up and asked if we would like to learn how to open it. Not only did we learn how, he drilled a couple of holes in it and popped in a straw Great great hotel.
Forget about the resorts in denarau, too hidden from the real country. Here the staff are like friends, we where even invited to a babies christening by a staff member, a BBQ by another, given cool coconuts by security because he knew we saw him cut them the day prior. You just can't go wrong.
The location, the island, the boat ride and best of All the friendliest and most helpful staff ever. Bula (hello) and vanaki (thank you ). The infinity pool was lush and we felt as though we were in our own bit of paradise
5 stars is not enough to rate this fantastic resort! What a memorable experience we’ve had at the Double Tree by Hilton in Sonaisali Island, Fiji… we spent close to a week here and yet could not have enough of this experience!! The resort is on Sonaisali Island, a 20 minute drive from Nadi town centre, and is accessed from the mainland via a very brief boat ride as you soak in the serene backdrop of the river banks lined with coconut trees. The resort in itself is a piece of paradise… with charming, luxurious bure villas and resort rooms set amidst lush greenery on a beach front property facing the ocean. We stayed in an ocean facing bure villa and it was fantastic accommodation – very spacious, with beautiful construction, interiors and a large balcony to enjoy ocean views, the sunset et al! Water sports, in-house activities organised by the lovely Activities team (that provide a great flavour of local culture), delicious food in the restaurants, lush green resort landscapes, a wide beach front strip lined with coconut trees, hammocks and beach chairs, striking sunsets to gaze into from the beach or the stunning infinity pool while serenaders play music by the pool bar… all part of unforgettable memories (and a stack load of photos!) at this resort. Our holiday in Fiji was also to celebrate a special occasion... Rodney (the Manager) and the resort staff went the extra mile for us, definitely making the occasion one that we would remember forever. Enough can’t be said about the wonderful staff at this resort – they are a fantastic team, all very helpful and cheerful! The resort is a short drive to Nadi and Denarau, so it makes for a very convenient location to enjoy local shopping or island cruising, while also being able to enjoy a quiet, exclusive island holiday at the resort. We highly recommend this resort and surely plan to visit again!
This is a large full service commercial resort with all the bells and whistles: restaurants, bars, water sports, excursions, spa, kids activities, and the faux South Pacific ambience of "native" dancers at night in grass skirts with burning torches. If that is what you want you will not be disappointed here. It is clean, well managed and service standards are very good. Staff are friendly helpful and professional, quite exceptionally so. Rooms and facilities are all good. This is not an isolated resort in a pristine location - you are a short (30 minute) drive to Nadi and the airport and this convenience does have a cost in terms of not having the physical beauty and location of much of rural Fiji which can be pretty spectacular. But the resort location is not bad at all - it is on a small island, more of a spit, across a short distance of water, and is quiet and private. The beach is "ok", but do not expect golden sandy beaches and crystal clear water. At sunset the view out to sea and to the off shore chain of islands is spectacular. The room rate is very reasonable but the same cannot be said for the food and drink and other services. You are paying top dollar for all meals at a rate on par with high end restaurants and bars in North America and Australia - this is where the resort is really making its money. That is disappointing - typically when you are a captive audience for a lengthy period the resorts opt for reasonable pricing. That would be forgivable if the food really was great but is actually quite mediocre and over priced. The A$46 rib-eye steak in the Tavu grill restaurant was a very small heavily overcooked sirloin that arrived cold and dry. OK, I could have sent it back, or followed other due process, but I was hungry after it took 40 minutes to arrive (15.6.17). There is a small buffet ea night but which also disappoints: Aus$31 for a "live" pasta station with a few small salads and dessert. Really? A$18 cocktails at the bar round it out. A la carte meals can still be quite good: the prawn wrap was all fresh ingredients, well prepared and balanced in seasoning. Ditto the chicken roti or the pan fried Made-Mahe. All in all the offering is inconsistent, and the pricing is way (way) too high. I enjoyed the time here. It is what it is. A few days is probably enough. There are much better resorts in Fiji, if you want to research and sniff them out, travel a bit further afield. And pay a higher room rate.
Nice Resort about 20km from airport. Food was a little expensive in our view. We would have liked a place with a better beach front, instead we got murky water. Friendly staff who liked to impress guests for staff rewards/feedback cards.
A resort on an island all of its own if you are a couple or young family then this is for you. Beautiful room with OMG beds, free wifi in main areas, make sure you get breakfast included it's worth it and saves you a packet when there. Not heaps to do At the resort, no beach to swim at so plan activities. Staff were not overly welcoming and the tour desk staff really push certain more expensive tours so do your own research about where you want to go to avoid paying $$$$$ . DO NOT go horse riding Awful experience they were very wild and very unhappy about being ridden, also was meant to get a drink included never happened and emailed them was meant to be $30 got their and was charged $40. Live band every night that was amazing but otherwise not much to do in the evening.
Absolutely blissful! every moment you were made to feel special and welcome. Food was great and Port Denarau close by for something different. Will definitely bring the children with next time as everything is extremely child friendly ! Vinaka 😉
The breakfast buffet is outstanding, definitely worth the price, any price. It includes an extensive selection of sweet and savory items. Everything is fresh and we'll prepared and nothing missing. The room was clean and modern. The staff was friendly and helpful at every turn. Really no complaints, a great value. I'll add that none of the cocktails we ordered seemed to contain very much alcohol. I like the taste the rum in a mai tai or pina colada.
