We have a wonderful stay the staff were friendly, happy and helpful. The resort had a lot to offer rooms were spacious, close location to the airport, great service and delicious food... so relaxing and gorgeous views and sunsets...
Great resort to stay at to relax and wind down after a long stressful year. Found that portion sizes at the main restaurant were way too big. Other than that, staff were friendly and happy to accomodate all needs! Housekeeping would even clean the room around our schedule unlike most other hotels that have specific times.
The staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. Do not expect much from the food or bar and expect to pay a lot for it. The rooms are a bit tired and the whole of the resort is in need of an update. Having said all of that, we had a cracking time, the kids had loads of fun and we got a chance to relax. Just be prepared that even with a full board package (which gives you limited menu options and does not include drinks) that you will need to budget an additional $1000 AUD on top of your initial booking fee. I'd recommend getting some instant noodles/soups for your room and stocking up with the maximum amount of wine/spirits that you are allowed to bring into the country to avoid the exorbitant resort prices. Oh and Fiji time is a real thing. Just roll with it and you will enjoy yourself much more.
Would 100% recommend this to whoever. I went with my partner for a week around Christmas and the place was amazing. Only issue was our transfer from the airport never showed. Food is very restricting (as it’s on its own island and 25min away from Denarau Island) lots on the menu but if you’re a picky eater,
There was no welcoming! We were put in Bure44 which was basically one of the last one from reception, pool, restaurant etc. I had a 5.5 month baby and 3 year old and it was average 31 degrees. When asked to be put closer, receptionist said ‘sorry we are house full’ and was not willing to help. Turned out to be an hectic trip and worst one.
This place could be amazing without little effort. A new chef for a start would be good. Same breakfast every day, average choices but way over cooked. Getting a coffee for breakfast was a challenge in itself. You are shown to a table and told to get on with it. Dinner was dreadful, overlooked again and tasteless. So the compromise is a $160 round trip in a taxi to another restaurant, usually in Nadi or Denarue. I would say 50% of the staff are friendly and helpful, the others just don't want to be there. Don't approach a member of staff who are on their phone, for instance, I made that mistake whilst collecting towels (towels are available when someone can be bothered to collect them). And don't start me on 'Fiji time'. 20 minutes to check in and 30 to check out is just not on. The resort itself could be amazing if more attention to detail was carried out. Beds by the pool and shore are filthy, parasols broken and have mould on them, little sand on the bed area, and beach area is mud. There are lots of water activities that are free however it wasn't until the last day that we where informed of this. Our fire alarm kept us awake 2 nights in a row even though it had been repaired or not! No sorry or new room sadly.
I really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. From the kind attention from our checkin clerk who kept the shop open on Xmas day for us to purchase clothing as our luggage was lost to Kesaia who always greeted us by name each time she saw us - we were so impressed with Doubletree. Our oceanview Bure was magic - views were incredible. A nice sized not overcrowded resort with a relaxed vibe. The only two things which would have made it perfect would have been a bigger pool area and less ‘Fiji time’ when it came to dinner service. We will be back again!
Stayed here over Christmas and it was more than I could ever ask for. Beautiful private bure (villas) facing the beach and spacious rooms. Very comfortable and clean. Two room services a day were amazing. It's very cool basically having your own flat ! The staff were the nicest and most professional group I have ever encountered. They were genuine people, not just working for tips. So friendly and ALWAYS wanted to help or asssit In anyway they could. The pools were incredible. Very well cleaned and taken care of, with amazing views as well. The beach was the only downside, as it was very dirty on the sand with garbage and the water was very murky. Could be cleaned by staff. The food was a little on the pricy side which made sense as it's a private island but it was always amazing and all restaurants were very clean. Breakfast everyday was delicious. Did the horseback riding and it was one of the best experiences ever! Their 24/7 jetty connecting with the mainland was run very professional and the staff always asssited with heavy bags or luggage. This hotel is one of the best I've stayed at in my life. Amazing service and attitudes by the staff. I can promise I'll be back here.
We came for a week of relaxation and we certainly got that. We stayed at a waterfront suites with beautiful views over the sea. The rooms are clean and modern with air-con. The service from the smiling staff was excellent who try hard to attend to one’s requests. This is not a 6-Star resort, but a great getaway with all the services you expect to find at a 5-Star establishment without the hard-sell. Good value for money
Not Hilton, not even Golden Chain, maybe a dodgy backpacker standard. Filthy with no regard for hygiene and food safety. The food is petty bad on a good day, on a bad day you may be served chips with someone else's serviette still attached. The pictures look great, however they are photographed very well. The beach is only a minimal part of the island but you can't see what's under you while it's shallow. The bathroom, if you're lucky enough to get a renovated room, had mold everywhere, I think they missed the part about sealing porous stone so those black flicks aren't a feature it's mold! Food and drink prices are extremely inflated, more than double Denarau. (I don't usually write reviews unless it's positive, however, this was so bad you need to be warned. Also I met with the duty manager and mentioned concerns to staff during the stay however nothing changed)
