My mother and I (and my dog) stayed here for three days - June 5-7th I think. It was a very nice place to stay. The hotel was pretty clean and the staff was so helpful and accommodating. They had a good breakfast in the morning, a laundry room to wash your clothes and an indoor pool! It's not a perfect place...but your wont be paying "perfect" prices. It's a good value for the money. And, Ferdinand Indiana is a hidden gem. It's so beautiful...Go to the Mexican restaurant on the main drag called Agave and visit the Benedictine Monastery (Monastery of Immaculate Conception).
A very nice, economical hotel. Rooms are big, bathroom is nice. It's not spotless, but it is clean. I feel safe and comfortable when I stay here. I really enjoyed driving away from the interstate to a local dive when I arrived around 8ish. Very popular and rowdy place. It was fun to sit and watch the crowd.
Have had reservations since August. Spoke directly to the front desk. Called the night before to make sure everything was OK and was told that I couldn't have my room as the whole first floor was under renovation. So I was moved to the 2nd floor, along with my friends who had 2 other reservations. When I got there, the room they had moved me to was a king not 2 queens. Then I was moved to the 3rd floor. They assured me my friends would be on the same floor, even gave me their room numbers. Well guess what, we were on 2 separate floors. Front desk is totally inept. English language is a strain for them. No coffee in the room. Breakfast is very slim, no fruit and items are not refilled.
The rooms are not cleaned, had to change rooms and the 2nd room was just as bad. Sheets had hair and dirt in them, the bathroom was not cleaned at all, the toilet had faecal matter on the seat. The housekeeper that cleaned these room was completely lazy. Filthiest room I have ever stayed in and the rooms are not cheap. I slept in my closes and had to clean the toilet myself, unacceptable!
The staff and owner of this location was so friendly. The hotel was nice with good accommodations, however the staff made the stay memerable. Very pleasant a d welcoming. There is. No doubt that when our family returns to Santa Claus we will stay here and support this property owner. I would go as far as to say,we made new friends here. Thank you and we look forward to returning!
We needed a place (after 550 miles of drivnig today) and found a coupon in the Indiana coupon book. The price was quite reasonable. There were two luggage trolleys and an elevator that made getting luggage to the room a snap. There was a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, tv. The only problem is there were not enough outlets in that area for all of them to be plugged in. However, we always carry a power strip so this was not a problem. Plenty of other outlets around the room for charging batteries plugging in computers (free wi-fi). Interactions with the staff were pleasant. The hotel is in the Eastern time zone but when you cross the street you are in Central time. if you are going out factor this into opening and closing times.
Staff were very friendly and nice. Location is great if you are staying for Holiday World. That said the hotel was extremely overpriced for what you get. Our room was musty and stinky when we walked in. It was very dirty. Carpet had nail clippings, toilet had urine down the side, bathroom had make up on vanity, tub had a large area with a tar like substance on it, and the final straw was I found a pair of dirty socks in the nightstand drawer. We left within 15 minutes.
Hotel was clean with a pretty good breakfast. Pool was disappointing as it is very small. A good straight shot to Holiday world maybe 10 minutes or so. Staff was very pleasant. I would stay there again.
Over all a typical chain hotel but my room was not clean, sticky table by the coffee maker, fridge and microwave were dirty and my room had ants because of it. This I found to be irritating as they were crawling over all my belongings. Upon checking out I mentioned this and was told a manager would call. I have not received any phone call from management.
Ceiling was leaking and towlet broke wouldn't recommend to anyone they use this hotel. Then when got downstairs for breakfast in the morning they was no items to eat out of everything. Understaffed so they couldn't keep up with food. Spent 150 for what they offered didn't stand up to price.
