There is a terrible smell in the Lobby area, for around 48 hours. Enquired what the smell was at reception. The Lady said ‘what smell.’ Absolutely, no way that she was not aware of the smell. She just didn’t want to say. Tried another receptionist the next day. She seemed to struggle to understand what I was saying. Then said a guest must be cooking food. Definitely, not a food smell to linger for so long. The public areas need hoovering and tidying up. No ventilation in the bathroom. Carpets in room are dirty. No heating in the room apart from a space heater. Draft form the old windows. Manager was very pleasant.

The property is little bit old and carpets in the common areas could use some vacuuming but our room was clean and spacious. If you are counting on using kitchen, be careful as there is not much variety in pots and pans and very few utensils. We didn’t interact that much with the staff except for quick check in and check out.

Blood on the sheets. Spit on the bed skirt. Running toilet. Poor hot water. Breakfast closed early twice because they didn’t make anymore food. Homeless hanging in the lobby. One was drunk with a needle. It’s by far the grossest place I have stayed in a long time. Clarion should be shut down. Felt like a halfway house.

Room was clean, staff was friendly. Remote for the TV didn't work, and there were no buttons that I could find on the TV. The thermostat for the room also did nothing to control the temp, so even setting it to a comfortable sleeping temperature of 62, it was still 85 degrees in the room, so I got no sleep at all.
