I stayed at the Radisson Blu Karlsruhe for business because it was near the freeway and I liked the brand from other locations. It was a little hard to find it in the dark, about 5 turns after exiting from the freeway. Navigation helps, or study the route upfront. The hotel seemed rather modern, but it did have some issues. The hours of the wellness were only posted online (no information sheet in room), and different from what the front desk said. The room was clean, and supposedly modern style, but in my view it felt a little cold. The showers had relatively low pressure and the temperature fluctuated a lot, from warm, to cool, to scalding hot. Not very comfortable, and borderline unsafe. It indicates cheap plumbing and/or shower fixtures. Otherwise, the room was quiet and the beds comfortable. Checkout had an interesting twist too. When it came to pay by credit card, the machine gave the choice of local currency or US dollar. I usually pick local currency, because my card does not charge a conversion fee, but the hotel does charge for that. However, before I was able to select Euros, the checkout clerk quickly reached over and pressed US dollar. I thought that was a little bit sneaky. The fee is 2.5% or so and I only stayed one night, so only a few $, not the end of the world, but it left a bad taste. I wonder if they trained to do that, to make some extra money. That alone would be reason for me not to come back. Who knows what other shortcuts they are taking.
It is far away from any shops, cafes or markets.Your only transport is taxi. Pleasant receptionist and waiter ; unfortunately not good house keeping ! You can only get one tea bag and a bottle of water for three nights . No replacement ; If you stay one or any other nights... First hotel with this strange saving of a few euros !
The location is actually off from the main city and is in the middle of nowhere. The reception is quite welcoming and the restaurant as well as the room has a welcoming feel. The conference room facility was also satisfactory. Is a good hotel for business conferences but would be a pain getting there.
Was there for 3 nights. The hotel is just beside motor way and amidst picturesque landscape, you can see part of black forrest from the room. The room is nice, big flat screen TV, nice and firm bed will ensure good sleep. Bathroom is decent too. The room had a small safe, iron. The hotel has a nice restaurant with outdoor sitting option. I had one dinner here and loved the “Black forrest steak”.
This hotel could be so much better. We recently stayed her on our journey to Italy and it's ideal for overnight stops, just off the motorways, but we found two things let it down. Firstly it had been 35 C during the day and it was a hot night and yet the air conditioning was poor, when we asked about it in the morning we were told it was only operating at 20%! also why do they charge for parking if you are staying overnight, I can appreciate that during the day they might want to get some money from the car park for those attending conferences, but please consider offering free parking for hotel guests. The positives of the stay were the room size, the food in the restaurant, we ate outside on the terrace and it was really nice, drinks are rather pricey. The other positive was the staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful.
We arrived late after booking the same day while driving and it worked is really well. We found a deal online but they have a better offer when we called them to just confirm the very late arrival ( 01:00 ). That was much appreciated! We just stayed the night, and had breakfast outside in a nice park setting, great for the dog. Clean nice room and a good breakfast, the beds were very hard but nice pillows. The outdoor parking was good but remember to have cash to pay the parking ticket before you go to the car, would be nice if that was taken care of at the checkout. Not all travellers carry cash, but I've learned the hard way that in Germany it is a necessity.
I got what I was expecting from a Radisson hotel and that’s all I need. There was only a small issue with the restaurant staff, who refused to acknowledge they had served my colleague the wrong wine, even in the face of evidence. Eventually they changed the glass, although without admitting the wrong wine had been served which was annoying.
I chose this hotel as a stopover between the Basel-Mulhouse airport and Bad Homburg. The flight landed around 4 p.m. and I calculated that driving all the way to Bad Homburg would be too much for us so I looked which hotels are about midway and saw there is a Radisson Blu near Karlsruhe. I know this chain of hotels well from staying there in other cities around the world. The hotel is not new but was totally renovated just a few years ago that is why the room was so lovely, the mattresses great and all in all a very pleasant surprise. The staff was very kind and smiling. We did not eat there as we had to get with our car to the nearest garage very early in the morning. So all I can say is that the accommodation was very good. It is easy to leave the Autobahn 5 and find the hotel. One must consider paying an additional 15 euro for parking in the open hotel garage. I think the parking fee is a bit pricey. It is not in town, nor in a busy area. one could park for free on the street not far from the hotel but we chose not to do it as we did not know how safe it was to park on the street.
I have recently taken part of an event at the Radisson Blu Karlsruhe. The room I was accommodated in looked very trendy, and the mattress provided me with excellent sleep. The service personnel was always very friendly, and helpful, not once did a front office worker, service or cleaning personnel miss a smile. We have been provided with excellent catering during the event, mostly with fingerfood respective to nowadays' street food trends. The meeting facilities were also a perfect fit for our event, as the pleasant environment and the acoustic of the facilities perfectly complimented a conversation. I would happily recommend the Radisson Blu Karlsruhe for those who are looking to host an event, or seek a pleasant stay in this region.
I visited the Radisson while on a business trip to the region. I found the hotel to be charming - a nice, clean and rather large room by European standards. My room, 431, faced the thermal pool. It was lovely weather, so I had the windows open, and the birdsong was GLORIOUS! I was welcomed by a very friendly staff and felt at ease. The majority of the staff is friendly and professional. I had a few interactions that left a little to be desired, but it could also be that i was jet-lagged and stressed. For example, I wanted to order a salad to take to my room. I went to the Jockey Club (casual bar in the hotel) and found it to be completely empty; despite this fact, the bartender told me immediately that I was not to sit in a certain area. I understood that it had something to do with the soccer match, but it was surprising and a bit rude. I later found out that the seating was not reserved, but was for people who wanted to watch the game. I proceeded to order a salad and returned to my room, excited for a delicious salad. the phone rang and I was told to come downstairs to retrieve my order. I was surprised, but obliged. It felt strange to be carrying my own tray upstairs, but at the end, the food was good. Contrast this to the breakfast staff - friendly, kind, positive and professional. I would absolutely return to this hotel again (but for vacation next time!). the location is amazing - there is a park right next to the hotel, so you can walk, jog or stroll with magnificent views. You are about 10 minutes by foot from the city center, but charm is right outside the door! Lastly, the thermal pool is amazing. There is no need to go to the city thermal pool if you don't want to, both are feed by the same thermal water. It's fun - you can swim from the inside pool to the outside pool, take a swim in the 'regular' pool, order snacks, drinks and just relax! They have a nice spa facility with excellent treatments as well as a very small gym (worked for me!). Baden Baden is gorgeous - enjoy your stay!
