Nice and clean hotel with very kind and helpful staff. Gym would need some improvement still good though. Very close to the center, to shopping malls and shopping street, five minutes from Schloss Karlsruhe. Nice breakfast.
The hotel is located in the centre of the city of Karlsruhe, very close to the most important museums such as the Kunststadthalle, the Orangerie and the Badisches Landesmueum. It’s also very close to the Beim Markt Museum and the Cathedral. One can walk to anyone of those places from the hotel in a few minutes, what is indeed a considerable advantage. Apart from that, there is not much traffic in the street where the hotel lies. Altogether therefore makes the hotel location be a very good one. Contrary to the characteristics of the location, the room I was allocated was not a very good one. It was too small to move freely inside. In addition to that there is in fact no desk or table whose use may entail the necessary conditions for writing or reading comfortably. The only thing there resembling that piece of furniture is a shelf like glass under the TV screen. Apart from the fact that it’s too narrow and that it’s therefore impossible to work properly on it, the only light which could be used in such circumstances is a wall lamp by the said screen over one end of that glass, what makes obviously impossible to have the appropriate light in order to avoid catching a headache when reading. At any rate, the bed was very comfortable, the mattress having the right toughness for getting a good rest. Among the staff members there are some who are very kind and helpful such as the lady who was at the front desk upon my arrival and who checked me in. Others limit themselves to do their job or even less than that, such as the receptionist who took over from the stated lady in the afternoon and the evening of the same day. Finally there are others whose kindness is moderate, which is by the way nothing to complain about or to be subject to criticism, such as the personnel working at the breakfast room. The breakfast is very good and varied. There one has the possibility to have everything needed to keep going for several hours or maybe the whole day until dinner, as the case may be. All the food available in relation to the meal referred to is of a very high quality particularly the crammed meat and the pastry. The orange juice is also good. The hotel parking is in a garage some steps away from the hotel itself. In any case, it functions very well and the parking spaces assigned to the hotel are very well managed and controlled by the hotel staff in charge. It can be considered that the vehicles are completely safe in that garage. There is a good gym at the hotel. There one has the necessary equipment for getting the adequate exercises. The most important in this respect is that there are mats, which is an essential element in all gyms deserving to be considered as such. Taking the foregoing into consideration it can be upheld that the hotel could improve its standing provided the necessary measures were taken for the aforesaid flaws to be eliminated. In spite of all, one can manage to have a good stay in that hotel inasmuch as the good features referred to weigh more than the negative ones.
We greatly enjoyed our stay. The young women who checked us in was very welcoming and and took extra time to show us points of interest and restaurants on a map. The room was spacious and comfortable, and luckily was air conditioned. The breakfast was excellent with numerous options. We did not make use of then, but there were bikes available to borrow and also a fitness room. The location is within walking distance of the palace, shops, and restaurants. It is also on the number 10 bus line which goes directly to the main train station.
We stayed here 4 nights and really enjoyed it. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was fresh; varied; and open till 11am!. The lo marion was fantastic. The worst part was some street noise on weekend nights with the windows open, but not enough to keep us up. The staff was friendly, helpful and multi-lingual. And on our last day they stored our luggage for several hours after check out so we could enjoy the city one more time. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
Kaiserhof is not big, but located smack in the centre of Karlsruhe. The rooms are tidy, with luxurious adjustable beds, and breakfast is fine - as you would expect from a German 4-star hotel. Nice extra: they don't charge you for every small thing: WiFi, things from the mini-bar, etc, it's all inclusive!
This is really a **** property. Luxurious, large rooms, lots of amenities. Softest bathrobes and best fitting slippers I have ever encountered (too bad they don't sell the slippers - they would be great for travel.) Excellent breakfast also.
This is a conviently located hotel a walk away from the shopping centres and 10 mins by bus or tram from the train station. The markets place square is just opposite which leads to the Schloss Karlsruhe palace. The staff are very friendly, rooms are clean and breakfast offers a great variety of food and one can even order an omlet. For the athletic people there is a small gym and a sauna. Although it is slightly priced it is worth a stay.
We really loved this hotel from check in onwards. Gonzalo checked us in and could not have been more helpful. We had unfortunately, left our guide books at home and he was very knowledgeable about where to go and what to do. I would recommend that you upgrade your room as we had a really nice room on the corner, with double aspect windows. It was very spacious and had a seating area. The breakfast room was lovely, with inserts into the windows with all the occupations of the town. Good selection at breakfast, they even had a large window that opened, so much better than air con as it was very hot. They even had an ice lolly machine in the foyer. Parking next door I think it was 15 euros per night. Really enjoyed our stay.
In the center of town on the market square, which may give some noise during summer nights. Spacious room, clean, no airconditioning but a fan is provided, some toiletries to be had from reception. Good breakfast. Parking in a garage for a fee.
Was here for work and very impressed with the hotel. Staff were really friendly, from check in, to breakfasts and checkout they were always courteous and helpful. My German is limited, but would always switch to English when I struggled. The rooms were really clean and tidy. My only complaint was the bed was maybe too soft, which you can’t really change but the option to swap pillows was available. Fabulous location right in the Markt Platz and easy to get to everything. Bustop across the road from the hotel to get to the station. Would defenitely stay again.
