We selected this hotel because of the mostly positive reviews but were really disappointed in the management. We found roaches in our first floor room and were promptly moved upstairs to the second floor by the evening desk clerk. Everything seemed fine then until the next morning when we discovered that the hotel had managed to run completely out of coffee! The coffee maker in the lobby was broken, and they were completely out of coffee packages for the room. The manager told us we could drive down the road to the pancake house and get coffee there! Not what you want to hear when you're at a suite hotel and expecting to have breakfast in your room. No apology--just get in your car and go get some somewhere else. Why management couldn't go to the grocery store and get a box of coffee "teabags" to tide them over until they could replenish their stock, I don't know. And of course no warning when we checked in so we could go get some ourselves. I hadn't planned to bring up the roaches again since the move had solved that problem, but because of the cavalier attitude about coffee, I did. "Oh, they're just waterbugs," I was told, "and we've been spraying for them." Guess what? According to pest control websites, "waterbug" is just another name for the oriental cockroach--and the photos on the pest control websites matched what we saw. A roach by any other name... If you do decide to stay in this hotel, ask for the second floor. Apparently the roaches are only on the first floor--and spraying isn't working very well. And make sure all the essentials are provided. If they can let themselves run out of coffee, they could just as well let themselves run out of soap.

Stayed here on our road trip to OK. Very nice facility, very clean. Plenty of amenities. Breakfast was good. Great location. Just prior to the Kansas Turnpike. Close to IHOP and others. We ate dinner at IHOP and received a 10% discount because we were staying at Candlewood Suites.

Nice clean room, with mini kitchen, full refrigerator and place settings. Close to IHOP and other fast food restaurants. the staff was very helpful. Good coffee in the entrance. They don't offer everyday room cleaning.

Very nice facility, clean, friendly staff. The shocker was $50 charge for a small dog, for one night. I realize they are geared for longer stays. Their website says $75 extra per week for a pet. We did not choose them again for that reason the next time we went through. Parking would be very hard pulling a trailer.

Stayed here for the Glass Blown Open disc golf tournament. It's in a great location close to lots of places to eat and Wal-Mart. The kitchenette was nice for cooking breakfast in the mornings and for late night cooking. Close to most of the tournament courses. Friendly people and a great value. I will only be staying here for future Glass Blown Opens.

We are currently spending the night at this property. First, I called prior to my stay and spoke with; Sandra, who was very pleasant to speak with and helped me with my early check-in request Upon checking in, we met; Gage, who was working the front desk. He was super friendly and later helped us with some television remote control issues. He also recommended some local restaurants. Later in the afternoon, we dealt with; Jerica, who helped my Daughter with some wifi issues. She was very pleasant to speak with as well. The property and rooms were very clean and we will definitely be staying again at the Candlewood Suites when we return to Emporia, Kansas. Kudos to Sandra, Gage and Jericho, who helped make our stay stress free.

Very clean. The staff from the front desk to custodial were all very friendly and accommodating. The fitness center was ok...the treadmill wasn't my favorite...but did get a nice mediocre cardio done. No breakfast, but they do have a "locker" on the honor system for different types of foods and beverages (non-alcoholic). I believe each room has a full kitchen including dish washer and garbage disposal with plates, silverware, and cooking utensils.

This hotel is a real treat. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are quiet. It is a little off the main business strip, but it is still close to everything in Emporia. The room is clean with up to date decor.

Great place to stay on a roadtrip! Friendly staff, clean room, everything is in good condition, seems recently renovated, and comfortable bed. Quiet, tucked back, location, but still easy to get to. Safe, lit, parking.

We stayed overnight at Candlewood Suites to attend a college graduation. For our winter vacations, we have been trying to find a hotel brand that provides a satisfactory long-stay experience. We had high hopes for this hotel and in some respects it excelled. The staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel, including our room was neat and clean. King beds are apparently not available at Candlewood, and our queen bed was not only smaller than we wished, but the mattress was uncomfortable – squeaky, concave and generally of poor quality. Furniture was limited to the bed, a large desk and a chair wedged on one side of the bed. There was one night stand on the other side of the bed. The hallway kitchenette seemed adequate although we didn’t use it for our one-night stay. Other annoyances at this hotel included a noisy highway and fairly loud full-size refrigerator. Although the facility and staff were above average, I could not see us spending several days in a Candlewood Suites hotel. Besides the inferior bed, given the cramped space and lack of usable furniture time spent in the room was limited to the bath, kitchen or bed; there was no living space.
