Stayed in the Moonraker Suite for 3 nights. This is the room at the top of the "lighthouse". It was cute, clean, had a whirlpool tub as well as a stand-up shower, a microwave, and good sized refrigerator for a short stay. They also provided a coffee maker and coffee, a cheese board (because you know you are going to get cheese when you go to Door County), and a wine opener (because you know you're going to get wine too, right?). The manager was very nice and gives you his cell number to text him if you need anything. Is it the Ritz? Nope. But we didn't expect it to be. It was a nice place for a couple of nights with a lovely view of the bay. So why not 5 stars? There were a few things to note - they don't do daily housekeeping. This wasn't really a problem since we had plenty of clean towels, but I know a lot of folks stay at hotels to get that "pampered feeling." While the lighthouse is cute and kitchy in a Route 66 motel sort of way, it could use a little TLC on the outside. All in all, though, I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
Nice big clean room with a super comfy bed. Want to go back after Covid
Beautiful and quiet place in front of water. We had to leave a day earlier because my dog got sick at home. Owner refunded us for second night even tho we didn’t leave till 5 pm. Definitely We will be back next year!!!!
Staff was great. This was a suprise gem for us. Great Value aside from the continental breakfast, which was poor. Rooms varies in size im sure but ours had a view of the bay, a balcony, front pourch with comfortable chairs, roomy studio aprt feel, and best of all a double shower! Wife and i really really liked the double shower...;)
Run of the mill small town “hotel” which realistically is a partitioned old home. Clean bed and soft sheets but very dated furniture and flaky exterior. Dual head shower was nice. One AC unit and mini fridge. Included a breakfast w packaged muffins and bagels.
We booked this hotel last minute because we were supposed to be camping in Newport State Park, but cancelled it because of the storms. The guy that checked me in was super nice and helpful, the room was clean and very large. I would highly recommend it.
One day stay. Nice place. Little older but comfortable.
Was excited to stay in hotel - booked the lighthouse upper fireplace did not work refrigerator did not freeze barely cold no regular coffee provided with coffee pot Not enough hot water to fill hot tub. cold shower grounds were disheveled, garbage bins full Office staff said they would be available at 9 am on sat and sunday they were not there to checkout . disappointing
Troll House cottage should not be rented out when the water has very disagreeable odor. to the point that it made us ill. Office staff were not available at 9 am on either Saturday or Sunday of our stay.. this was communicated to us when we checked in. Made it difficult to check out.. Hotel grounds were messy - garbage bins overflowing. Overall hotel needs some attention and current rates should be lowered as it does not warrant a market rate.
The room is clean but plain. It was easy to see that improvements are being made. The room had a good view of the water and grassy area. Check in was very easy. I think I would stay there again because I was aware of the continuing remodel efforts and the price was a fair one.
