Very lovely host and convenient location for touring wine region. Stayed in what seemed like attic apt. Lots of angles. Bumped head several times on slanted ceiling. Room has small cooking area, but sufficient for light meals. Overall, it was comfortable.
This is a very large property in the immediate vicinity of the village center. To accommodate my late arrival, outside the reception working hours, I was given exhaustive instructions on where to park and how to get there, accompanied by post-its with my name to guide me to my room. The room was very spacious, comfortable, and included a large floor fan to deal with the summer heat. Despite a very good first impression and the fact that the interior of the property is renovated to contemporary standards, the bathroom had a peculiar odor. Due to the compact nature of the village, the room window overlooked a back alley and the dull wall of the adjacent building. The morning staff seemed to be comprised of one person wearing sweatpants and flip-flops, with little to no English skills, who would serve you a mediocre coffee from an all-in-one machine while having one themselves, run the noisy dishwasher while other guests had breakfast, handle payments and clean the rooms.
We enjoyed our stay and the room and thought the breakfast was one of the better ones we had in Europe, since we were able to make our own crepes which was fun! We did have a few problems with the check in - just to forewarn other guests. They want you to check in from 3-5pm. We weren't able to do this, so we hurried into town by 6:30pm, but then didn't realize someone was still there. They had left notes for us, so we found the room just fine, but we missed the welcome drink, and we also wound up having to park our car outside the town (not terribly far) - and pay for 2 days (3 euros a day), since we had arrived before 7pm. I didn't need the welcome drink, but I do wish we hadn't rushed, since we could have arrived later. We wound up packing our things into smaller bags (for just one night) so that we didn't have to bring our suitcases all the way from the parking. I think they do have free courtyard parking, but it only fits a few cars. So I just wanted guests to be clearer about this and perhaps communicate about the parking and arrival ahead of time. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, were glad to experience the town in the evening and the morning (before the crowds), and would recommend this hotel. We also booked directly with the hotel to get breakfast included, which we appreciated.
My wife and I stayed for five days in one of the apartments and were delighted by everything about it: it is attractive, clean, roomy, and exceptionally well equipped as well as perfectly located in Eguishheim. Breakfasts are good even if somewhat monotonous. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful.
Our plans changed and we managed to get the last room in this B & B for 1 night. We wished we could have stayed longer. We had a great room for me, my wife and my adult son. He had a separate sleeping area and we shared the bathroom. The rooms were clean, bright, well equipped and well decorated. On arrival we were greeted with a choice from the wine tasting menu and the wine was superb and we bought some bottles. We managed to have a car parking space within the courtyard and the the B & B is well situated in the centre of Enguisheim. The breakfast was adequate and the staff very pleasant. Would certainly stay here again if we visit this area.
Very friendly staff ->good location at Eguisheim -> nice rooms -> parking available around the corner -> winetasting possible for Ginglinger wine - very good Cremant and loved the Ambre Cuvee (Auxerois & Pinot Gris)
An overwhelming surprise. Very nice and serviceminded people in a family owned winery and Chambre d'Hotes. Nice decorated room with all functions we needed. Good breakfast offer. Cosy room for vinetasting. Easy to reach and no problem to find parking nearby.
We got a warm welcome including a glass of superb Gewurztraminer Grand Cru, the owner guided us to the room and private garage, friendly and very flexible attitude. 5/5 Our spacious room, clean, comfortable with wide comfortable bed, coach, wardrobe, simple but nice decorated, flat screen tv, free of charge stable and strong wifi signal. 5/5. The bathroom, spacious, light and clean. The shower compartment is spacious, very comfortable but the floor is quite slippery when wet, take care. 5/5 The breakfast, start at 8 o'clock, typical French, simple, fresh tasty crispy baguette, croissants and chocolate bun, yogurt, Kellogg's, 3 x fresh quality jam, 2 x ham, cheese and fruits. (the pears were over ripe and almost brown) 4/5 Coffee and tea, juice d'orange from container. 4/5. Service friendly and very efficient 5/5. Missing a warm egg.
Very nice place, small however interesting. Beautiful village with enough of shops and of course plenty, plenty of wine houses. A. Good two nights stay, dont miss to walk the entirely village round (twice, you will understand).
Being welcomed by a nice lady who spoke French, German and English we had no problem communicating. We got appartment Leon, which is a garret for 6 people. The appartment had a nice kitchen/living room with (what looked liked new) furniture. The one thing that was a bit of a downside of the appartment were the tiny windows which you had to stick your head into a shaft to look outside. The two bedrooms were nice and clean, not as much room as I hoped, but it will do. From the bedrooms you can directly look in the main street which has a lot of tourist flow. Bathroom was also clean, also a bit on the small side when you are with a group of six. Furthermore is parking a bit of a problem, there is a limited amount of space for approx. 2/3 cars. Parking outside the house not really an option (morning/afternoon) since you can only park for 20 minutes, and have set your parking disc every 20 minutes. Kitchen was also in great condition, nice big fridge, and plenty of space. NOTE: If you are around 1.90 meters tall please consider another appartment because there are beams that are 1.84 from the ground.
