The place is just beautiful. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, well equiped and beautiful with huge ensuite bathrooms and good working shower. There is wifi available in the rooms (surcharge). Also, free wifi in the restaurant area. There’s a small dinning area in the rooms, a ketle and a sink. And a little terrace area (some have a balcony). The gardens are amazing, three beautiful pools surrounded by lush vegetation (palm trees, coconut trees and hibuscus everywhere)! It looks gorgeous. We had a light breakfast included which was nice! Loved the fruit salad+homemade muesli+natural iogurt option! (+juice&tea/coffee). The staff is great! Very friendly and helpful. It is a bit out of town but the regular “buses” get here in a regular basis (we never waited for more than 5 minutes), so it is super easy to get to town or anywhere in the island! Mangoes is for sure a great accommodation option in Port Vila! We loved it!

Mangoes was overall a beautiful stay - the bungalows are beautiful and surrounding gardens and clean plunge pool. Room was very clean & staff were very accomodating ... Downfall errors - took literally 20 mins to check in, we arrived off the bus with a group other people, we were shown to our room last. Plus - received a refreshing drink while waiting. the main gate to the front gets locked at 6pm and we were not shown how to get out other than that door. Took us about half an hr running around in the dark no torch trying to find another path way, I cut my foot on the edge on a sharp rock because I couldn't see - really pissed me off especially because we were late for our dinner reservations - did mention to the lady at reception who just laughed. Pre ordered a air conditioning room but the Australian lady at the reception didn't receive that in my booking - really wanted air con because it was hot & I have medical condition but she INSISTED it was quite cool at night - absolute disgusting you need aircon in this tropical climate. Worst sleep - especially our first night I just wanted to sleep in. Had to have a cold shower just before jumping in bed - hubby was boiling the kettle for a tea and the power tripped off and 3 other units - so here I am standing in the shower in the nud in pitch black trying to find my Phone for light- I swear my temper was just rising. Our kettle was at fault? The hospital lights fires at night so that comes straight into your window, next door was smoking came straight into our window, slow moving fans. Some people might deal I can't. did mention to reception and she was willing to accomodate and upgrade us the sister terraces which was lovely but was too much effort for us to pack everything and walk up. Seeing as we were leaving early morning saved the hassle. I would've rated at a lower star but staff were willing to cooperate to our needs. If you're going to book here and get an air port transfer it's actually cheaper to barter with a taxi. And make sure you have an air con room!!

As a tourist, I didn't not enjoy staying at mangos resort. Between the off chicken meal, vegetable bowl that turned out to have bits of chicken, a vegetarian meal that turned out to also have chicken added, amature massage and toilet and shower and floors never being attended to it left us wondering how this resort has any stars at all. I would highly not recommend staying there. Manager Virginia tried to be attentive but always seemed to have an excuse for everything. She reported that locals are substandard cooks and she would never eat their food and yet the resort had a local chef! Example of lack of housekeeping : towels being smelly, dirty and not provided with same or adequate supplies each day. And nothing in the bathroom being wiped down let alone cleaned during a week's stay. The condition of the pillow covers covered with stains including blood. The floor only being swept once during a week. The breakfast taking three trips to get correct even with clear instructions. The massage being inappropriatly high on legs and dangerously rough on head and neck and no oil removed post massage, and no privacy or common courtesy when changing as they watched.

Came here for our wedding anniversary and did not regret the choice. Easy check in and a fantastic apartment with its own private plunge pool. The room is huge with its own kitchenette, a large bathroom and a king size bed. The grounds of the resort are fantastic with a number of pools and great views over the harbour. This is a lovely place to relax and the service is typically Melanesian, warm and friendly.

Mangoes is a terrific place to unwind, relax, to eat well and be comfortable. I spent a week at the resort and had some of the best food I experienced on the island. I am a small eater so chose meat and salad on a daily basis. The salads are a great choice with fresh ingredients and one night I had a dessert, the lime pie which was first class. Breakfasts were good and plentiful and coffee was great. There is daily special board with cocktails, happy hour and dinner options. The staff are efficient, capable and friendly. Taxis and local buses are available during the day and evening. Some of the amenities are a little worn like the cushions on pool chairs but as they are exposed to the sun one would expect that. Nothing is perfect even in paradise but this is very close.

Staying in the apartments the view from the rooms was to die for. The service was second to none, and the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or tea was delicious. Breakfast usually consisted of eggs Benedict or fruit salad and a croissant. Lunch included blt's or a delicious salad, and the teas were fantastic from filet mignon to nasi goreng were perfect. The service from the staff was always friendly and helpful, with them going out of their way if they assist. I loved every second.

This was to be our first romantic holiday since we got together 5 years ago and a celebration of our engagement. I get that it's third world, but I don't get how it can be described as 4-4.5 stars, 'honeymoon accommodation', 'happy island' etc etc. My fiance and I have a business that we tend to 24/7, so a holiday means the absolute world to us to unwind, relax and take in the beauty. The pictures are somewhat unrepresentative for a start. Put aside the old furniture/decor and dark feel to the villa. This place is not clean. We could not walk around our villa with no shoes on as the floors were obviously not mopped prior to checking in or throughout our stay. The smell of the place was stale, dusty and 'off'. The bathroom smelled of urine, the toilet lid was full of mold, my make up brushes even started growing moldy spores despite washing them in soapy water daily! The milk in the fridge was never replenished, the TV channel options were v poor, room service came with no cutlery and the villa was really not a pleasant place to take cover from the few rainy days we had. Movie choices were okay, but the movies clicked on that we really wanted to watch were not attached to the hard drive. One other little gripe... when I go away on an island holiday, I want coconut water. Why have fresh coconut water on the menu when you are not prepared to serve the water from the coconuts I saw delivered that very morning? I wonder if it is indeed 'fresh' or there was a shortage of coconut water cartons? Now, I do have to justify my 2 star rating because the above should deserve a 1. The pools were pleasant, we did relax by the pool on a few days and received great poolside service. The grounds are quite nice and setting okay. The view is alright and the food on most days was really delicious. BUT, when asked whether a dish on the specials board was steak or fish (complete with animal noises and actions) and we were told steak.... only to receive a salmon dish (obviously fish), we were even more disappointed. Plus, a dessert was described as apple crumble, but was actually Christmas pudding! EVERYTHING here is extremely expensive, so you want to receive a perfect meal. A side of salad with balsamic glaze?... no, it was a tiny handful of rocket swimming in white vinegar (literally). I think they had ordered too much white vinegar because my eggs Benedict was covered in vinegar (not poached eggs amount but full on soak everything on the plate in vinegar amount). The resident cats were a highlight to my stay. They are pretty cute and I didn't mind that they jumped on our laps in the restaurant although many people did! I didn't experience over friendly service either, more like a 'we will because we have to' attitude. The fish curry was great, special of pork lovely (until I saw a poor pig prior to slaughter kept in appalling conditions *crying face*), cocktails are delicious, Affogato we cannot fault. The first time I ever said we would have had a better time at home!

It was a bit far from the downtown area. (That means you might need a car(either mini-bus or rental car). However, you can enjoy a beautiful view to the ocean side of Port Vila. I also liked their breakfast!

We loved Mangoes so much after our first visit that we just had to stay there again on our next visit. The staff couldn't be more helpful - such lovely, friendly people. The resort is really beautiful, and with only around 30 bungalows, it always seems pretty quiet. I'd recommend getting one of the pool bungalows - such a treat. Though you can get an air-conditioned bungalow, we've never really needed one because they always get nice breezes and the fans generally provide enough circulation. On our last visit we stayed in one of the larger apartments - they have an oven, so you can easily self-cater if you want.

Beautiful resort over looking water. Always smokey at nights locals cooking. Food expensive. Take cab to city or walk and catch bus (van) to city buy there. Supermarket expensive not much bread. People very friendly. When getting off at airport make sure go tourist side not locals side when arriving. Tourists should be left lanes
