We stayed here for a week as a couple.. We stayed in the Beachfront Fare which was clean and tidy.. No air-con here, but didn't really need it.. Bed was comfortable.. Outside shower is a nice touch. The mosquito net is daunting but wasn't necessary as we didn't see any.. The food is okay without being great .. The staff here try there best to help you here, and they make your stay even better because of that.. The pool and grounds are clean and tidy.. But there is sand everywhere, so wear adequate footwear, not high heels or dress shoes. The entertainment was good.. Adults only Resort so its quiet in that way. Buses and taxis are plentiful out front . Thank You Breakas..
Stayed three nights at Breakas when I had to be in Port Vila for a work related trip. Great place for a honeymoon. Not so good for anything else. Here is why:- No TV's in the room. Wifi super expensive. No meeting rooms. Showers are kind of outside with no roof so if there is a bit of a breeze you seriously freeze. I also kept getting lost as finding my little hut seemed a difficult task for me as all the paths looked exactly the same. Having said all that. The location is beautiful. And the staff were awesome. But next time I will stay some where with a few more services.
We had 7 nights here and loved it. The accommodation was very clean and nice, the staff were very helpful and it was a fantastic location. First time at a resort where no kids were allowed and it was fantastic, so tranquil and restful. The induction the hotel provided was fantastic and enabled us to navigate our way easily on the local bus system. The food was nice and breakfast very tasty. The hotel made an effort to have some entertainment on most nights which was really appreciated. The fare (room) are all standalone and ours was one row back from the beach (47) in the beautiful and well maintained gardens. We'll certainly come back if we get a chance.
We stayed here as the stopover when flying into/out of Port Villa. However we arrived at night on Independence Day which meant the city was a bit bonkers. We flew out early on both occasions - we should have planned better so that we could enjoy the location. The room was comfy. Bathroom a little hoky - and if impt to u it was outside of the mozzie-net security of the room. On another night that we stayed for 6 hrs due to flights dinner entertainment was provided around the pool - if copacabana and Leedo Shuffle are your cup of tea...... We would recommend tho.
My husband and i stayed at breakas for 5 nights and we can only say great things about the resort! All the staff were super friendly remembering who you are and what you like. Shout out to Roy in food and beverage hes more than happy to accommodate to almost any request, if he can do it he will! The rooms Embrace the culture of Vanuatu each room is an individual hut and are truly unique with outdoor showers. Only 5 mins from town and you can get in a bus out the front for only 150 vatu. The resautrant food is amazing!! We ate there every night and was not once disappointed! Overall this resort made our trip to Vanuatu i recommend it to all! Very safe and clean. We will definitely return 😊 Thank you Breakas Prue and kory
Spend 6 nights at the resort and my husband and I enjoyed our time but it could have been better. I read many really good reviews of the resort so went in with high expectations but was a little disappointed. I personally didn't find the staff all that friendly. They were not rude but didn't greet you with a smile and when you did speak to them they sometimes had a look on their face like they didn't speak English and didn't understand what you just asked. They also didn't seem to be in a rush to help you. Found it hard to get someone's attention to be able to order a drink and on a few occasions they forgot to bring the drink to us. On our last day we walked to the near by restaurant Cafe Villa for a drink and the staff there were lovely!!! They lady that served us asked what our names were when she seated us and remebered our names asking us a few times how we were going. I don't think anyone at Breakas would have known us by name and we had breakfast and dinner there everyday. The food was really nice, the private beach was lovely, was impressed with the security that walked the resort 24/7 so felt very safe, the orientation with Freda was very helpful. The village walk that the resort does was really interesting, Also every morning from about 4am you could hear a rooster and other birds that were very noisy so if your a light sleeper once awake was sometimes hard to get back to sleep. Would also recommend getting a extra blanket from reception as gets quite cold at night but bed and pillows were comfortable. Also not many places in Vanuatu take card and you need to pay for many things in cash. Even the resort when your check out charges you 4% for paying on credit card but when you order s drink at the bar or dinner they automatically put it on your room.
This resort is very nice and in a great location. Everyone from the security guards to the cleaners were extremely friendly. The private beach is nice, a lot of colourful starfish and fishes to see. Though there were quite a few locals walking past. The food was very nice, well presented. Probably our major gripe was that we were there for 9 nights, the first 4-5 days you could tell the resort was very empty as there were not many people around. However the backend was packed and only then did they start putting the chairs and tables on the beach as per the photos you see. Just felt at first when it was quiet they did not do everything (another example our orientation and village walk no one showed up so had to do it in the second week), then when there were heaps of people everything you see in the photos was done. One thing to keep in mind is that you are on island time, so for us for some reason we could not sleep past 5.30am therefore once breakkie started at 7am we would be there. However a lot of things would not be ready until earliest 7.30, one day they did not have coffee out until 8am. Island time. Our room was nice, however even though it was advertised as an open shower it was actually undercover, which kind of destroyed some of the fun. Location was great, short and extremely cheap ride to the city (always a bus around), a milk bar across the road and another bar next door to it. Overall a great place to go, fantastic that there are no kids so not too much noise. Would visit again
This resort was perfect - there was an enviable ambiance. Service and friendliness was high quality. happy hour at the bar provided time for couples to get to know each other, if they wanted to talk to others. The singer Jimmy was a highlight for us, we stayed in every night he was playing. I would, definitely return.
Breakas is a beautiful resort. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The setting is magnificent. If I was to return I would make sure I was in a fare that was closer to the middle area. Our fare backed on to the village where people are, quite rightly, living their lives but this meant we had constant rooster and dog noise plus a guy who decided to yell all night on one night and quite often smoke from the fires. Otherwise it was the perfect holiday.
Overall we had a wonderful six days at Breakas. The place has alot of positive and a few negatives. The positives are: the staff are always friendly, the location is close to Port Villa but away from the hustle and bustle, happy hour cocktails, dinner on the beach, shower under the stars, adults only and listening to the ocean as you go to sleep. The few negatives are: the noise from the nearby area (dogs, people and roosters), no free wifi but I think that is actually a positive, the pool is not heated but i expect that is normal in Vanuatu and although the staff are so friendly they seem not the most prefessional (we had to go searching for cutlery and glasses for breakfast, no bath towels, some meals went to the wrong table, etc). As soon as you highlighted the problem they fixed it with a beautiful smile. Overall I would recommend Breakas if you want to completely unwind and take a break from technology.
