Took my in-laws to a rugby game in Edmonton and stayed at this inn close to the Coliseum. It was on the major bus routes and five minutes from the train. The rooms were exceptionally clean, the smell in the room was pleasant. The bathroom was clean as well. The room was a little small with two queen size beds, a desk, a table and two chairs but it certainly suited the purpose. I would probably not recommend the continental breakfast as it is simply toast and cereal but for the price, I was very happy. The local ruffians were added entertainment value as well. I would recommend this place for the traveler.
First off, the woman at the office, super friendly! Awesome first impression. Stayed here for an event at Northlands. Cleaner than I expected. I was so wary. But hotel was awesome especially for its price.
Apparently the Eastglen did not have the best reputation. When I told people where I was staying the tried to get me to change my mind. I'm glad I didn't. The staff were extremely personable. The room I stayed in had been renovated and I had a living room with a leather couch and a separate bedroom. There was also a mini fridge and microwave. The room was very clean. There were no parties in the middle of the night and quite a few families were staying there. The hotel rates were very reasonable and the location is ideal.
The price, location and large space made this a good value And an enjoyable stay. Close to restaurants, night life and the Harley Dealership. Would definitely stay again if I return to the Edmonton area.
Staff are excellent, very friendly, responsive to additional needs. Location is excellent for getting downtown. Room is comfortable (1 king/non-smoking). Continental breakfast is good. Fruit, muffins, toast, hard boiled eggs, coffee, Wi-Fi and parking is free.
My husband and I pulled into the parking lot expecting it to be exactly how it was. Until drunks started screaming at us and eachother. Unfortunately we decided to check in anyway. The room was disgusting. Smelled like smoke and urine. The scent was bad enough to burn your throat. All the while these drunks or druggies were screaming and hollering. My husband went to the front desk to get a refund as we would NOT be staying there and subjecting our child to those smells and unsanitary rooms, and the crazies outside. The lady was rude and told us we can't get a refund. So she showed us 4 other rooms. All just as bad with the same throat burning smell. So we chose the least terrible. Went in the room for a few minutes and couldn't stand the smell anymore so we were forced to go elsewhere, and the lady at the front STILL refused to give us our money back. Stay away from this place unless you like that sort of thing.
Clean and comfortable beds with nice white duvet and pet friendly! The staff was very nice, besides the tv 📺 older style and the bathroom heater should be replaced, which is minor. I would definitely stay here again.
I was there for most part of a week on a business trip, i came back here cause i stayed here before and found the place well situated with lots of amenities around, the service was excellent and the manager is a good guy, had good housekeeping too. I would recommend it to anyone.
Unless you don't mind screaming kids, rude parents, disinterested and rude front end staff, I don't recommend this place at all. The place has become more of an apartment than a motel, with all sorts of displaced people living here long term, which means they have limited rooms available. Sadly, the people living here allow their children to scream and run around and the parents aren't much better, with lots of yelling and hollering at each other. This behaviour went on until 11pm. A call to the front desk did little to stop the issue. There is no coffee pot, no coffee available, and the front desk staff are rather indifferent. The rooms are clean enough, the bed comfortable, but it's a hard place to rest in. If you want a pop or snack, and need to use the ATM cover your butt because they charge $3.00 to use the ATM! All in all, a disappointing experience. They take a photocopy of your drivers license which I found unnerving, and apparently that is in case the police are called. It's a practise that borders on invasion of privacy. Unless you are desperate, I wouldn't recommend the place which is sad as its close to a lot of things like the coliseum. It used to be a great little motel, but that has changed since I stayed here last, and I doubt I'll stay here again, unless desperate.
Booked this 'Motel' as a last resort. Didn't realize that World Cup Soccer and Pride were happening at the same time, which meant Edmonton was practically sold out of hotel rooms. This place charges people a deposit in case the police have to be called to your room. Seriously. They also take copies of the IDs of every adult staying in the room. I've only ever experienced that at hostels in Europe for security purposes... The room wasn't as bad as I thought it would be based on the outside view of the motel. However, our window on the second floor wouldn't lock, and since it didn't have a screen it did not feel very safe. Honestly, this felt like a "pay by the hour" place if you get my drift. I was pretty sketched out by the whole situation, and ended up finding a friends couch to crash on instead of staying here. The one plus to this place was the front desk lady, who was very kind!
