The room was fine the only drawback was the construction that was going on outside. It was only supposed to start at 9:00 am but a worker decided to start up his machine outside our bedroom at 06:20 am. The coffee was dreadful.

The room was very small. Not two queen beds but one bed and a pull out, very uncomfortable. The noise coming from the street was very loud. As for the breakfast, not great. We went elsewhere to eat.The location is good but I wouldn’t recommend staying there.

Second time staying here so that should say something. Great location, near ESF, John Lewis (love that store) plenty of restaurants, Old and New Town, Bus Terminal and Edinburgh Waverly. Great spread for breakfast, staff helpful, beds and room clean. Good prices. This is an older hotel so some amenities it doesn’t have are a room fridge or safe but the staff accommodates if you need food stored for an early tour etc. It really could use new carpets but all in all I feel safe and comfortable here. It’s getting to be my home away from home.

The hotel is in a great location, which is why we chose it. Airport tram is steps away from entrance, Edinburgh Street Food court is across the street and has affordable, good food, and there is a mall not too far away with food and pub. Convenient small market 2 doors down The room was clean, but beware if you have mobility issues, steep stairs of entrance and weird stairs down to elevator and up to your rooms once you exit the elevator. Also, they do not provide washcloths unless you ask. Thermostat is tricky to figure out and no instructions. Having the free, on site breakfast was nice, especially if heading out on an early tour, but it's just okay - same thing every day. Staff was helpful, but not overly friendly.
