There's this guy behind the bar who never came to my table, I had to go to the counter and order, and brought my own stuff to the table! Not cool at all!! I guess it's more fun to organise bottles and glasses than to serve the costumers, then you got the wrong job dude!
Rooms were nice, clean and had what we needed. Breakfast was plentiful with loads to choose from and both hot and cold selections. Location could have been better but it was a 10 minute walk to the tram and around 15 mins on it to get into the town centre. It was handy being so close to an IKEA as well as it's a good place to pick up snacks or drinks for the day. Bar staff were unfriendly at times and seemed to think us ordering drinks was inconveniencing them. But the other staff seemed nice.
Good, clean hotel but with quite expensive prices for what it has to offer. We liked: Cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff, awesome breakfast. We didn't like: Very good coverage WiFi but with poor WiFi speed, very high price, furniture quite old, poor TV set channel selection, air conditioning not working
Early accessible from motorways, good access to city centre via tram. Quiet and comfortable room, ample breakfast, but try to get a tariff which includes it. Good staging post if driving across the country.
Friendly welcome and normal amenities you would expect from a Holiday Inn, but the room was looking tired and in need of a refresh. Hot weather and couldn't open the windows due to mosquitoes. A/c only stayed on while card key was in the room and it didn't really get that cool.
We were rather wondering about our booking here after reading recent poor reviews but have to state that any apprehension was totally unnecessary. The hotel was excellent and we had a most pleasurable stay. The room was well maintained, and of a good size and wonderfully quiet. The food in the restaurant was varied, of good quality and very nice indeed – meals were very enjoyable. Wi-fi throughout the hotel was stable and fast. Finally, the members of staff with whom we were in contact were courteous and friendly. We would certainly return again here if we were in the area.
We stayed here as it was close to a company that we were visiting. Very good value hotel (unsure whether prices would be the same if at the time of an exhibition). The hotel is fine but the surrounding location is not attractive. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
We stayed for one night while travelling through Belgium. The hotel's location is good for that purpose, as it's close to the motorway. It's a fairly big hotel and offers competitive rates, however there are some real problems here. The biggest one for us was the breakfast. Plates and cups were dirty, with dried food sticking to it and the whole breakfast are didn't appear clean. Some items looked like they'd been out for a few hours and there was no one around to talk to or to service you. It was so bad, we left without eating. If you want to eat better, there's an IKEA across the road which is cheaper and clean. Outside that the rooms are OK, but need refurbishment. There is a very small gym as well and the WiFi is free and fast. Also the hotel's own outdoor car park is charged at €10 / day extra. I will not chose this hotel again.
I think Shearings made a mistake with this package going to Kruekenhoff Gardens almost 5 hrs away.Food was average and limited overcooked veggies for Belgium .Noisey Bar and not much else.Only three floors so lidt was quick ? Decent TV which you need as appart from a sandt building site ,Ikea and the motorway you have NOTHING ELSE for miles.Tram is almost inaccesable and not that near. Hotel is Worste part of an very good holiday which our driver Mark partly or wholly rescued.Feel sorry for him. Expect lots of sitting on a coach with these packages.Just about worth it and GHENT was exceptional surprise.Again thanks Mark.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn next to the expo centre as we were attending the comic con event there. We arrived late Friday night, well actually Saturday morning around 2am and checked in pretty easily, once we found the check in desk. We drove from the UK and found the car park easily enough however there was no sign as to where the entrance was and we ended up having to climb up stairs at early hours of the morning with all our luggage. Breakfast was fantastic. Everything you could possibly want was provided. We ate tea in the restaurant on the Saturday night which was a buffet. Nice range of food however things quickly ran out and weren't always topped up and when they were they weren't necessarily what was there before. But for €27 all you can eat. It was pretty good. When we booked we saw the price (which was expensive) but we wanted easy access to the event, so we just booked it. The holiday inn gave an approximate price which upon check out and despite being an IHG member had increased. I had anticipated paying £175 each for 2 full nights and our part Friday. However our bill came to over £195 each. Which is extortionate! Overall it was a lovely stay but it wasn't worth £195 each.
