Incredible scenery around hotel area just invites you to settle back and relax. Jared and his great staff then take over helping to fulfill your needs and challenges with a smile. The entire staff have made our stay( third year) completely satisfying and we leave planning for next years return!
The entire staff at the Durango, CO Quality Inn was extremely helpful but one person stood out. I briefly stuck my head in the lobby for 2 seconds. Kassi, the front desk person, smiled and said "hi" to me and I left. When got to our room Kassi was calling asking if I was looking for cookies! How did she know I was looking for cookies. And how did she know who I was and what room we were in? What Kassi did for us may be a small thing. But it's a big thing in many ways.
Would give five stars if we had known it was an outdoor room entry hotel. Matt was fantastic, made everything so smooth and simple. Breakfast was delicious. Overall an excellent stay for an excellent price.
Breakfast was great. Both mornings Nycole greeted us and let us know that she would fry eggs for us if we would like them instead of the scrambled eggs that were offered. She was cheerful, friendly and efficient Always in motion she was cleaning up as each guest vacated a spot, prepared for next set of guests. She had a smile for everyone!
We stayed here for 5 nights. First the good. We had a 2 queen bed room which was decent sized and clean. They have a pretty decent hot breakfast that was well stocked. They have afternoon snacks each day of popcorn and something sweet. (ours was donuts all 5 days but I heard rumor that once they had brownies) The bad... The bathroom is very small. Barely conducive to one person, let alone more than one. The first night our TV didn't work at all and they basically said "sorry, can't do anything". Actually, not even sure I got a sorry. It took 4 phone calls that night and the following day to get it fixed because nobody "had any notes about it from the previous shift". The coffee maker is missing the drawer to put the coffee in, I won't bother to call about that after the TV experience. The toilet doesn't flush well, again, not worth calling 4 times to get it fixed. One day housekeeping took a cloth that I use that was hanging up with the towels and failed to return it. (I'm sure they bleached it and tossed it out) They said they didn't have it but it was definitely hanging on the hook with the towel that they took. On the 4th day we left the room at noon but it still wasn't cleaned. Again, as we returned at 8:00 at night I didn't even bother to call because I'm sure there is "nothing they can do". It is right on the access road to the highway so if traffic noise bothers you be sure to request a room facing away from the highway. I won't stay here again.
We had a very pleasant stay at the Quality Inn in Durango. The room was one of the cleanest we've been in and very quiet - beds were great and the staff was outstanding - very friendly and helpful - a pleasure to deal with. There were bottles of water and packages of candy in the room to greet us - a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again!
My husband and I flew into and out of Durango for our tour or southwest Colorado. Our experience with them our first night there was so good, that we decided to spend our last night with them as well before we went home. The staff was super friendly, rooms were clean, and breakfast was fresh and delicious. If you stopped in the front desk and just the right time....there were fresh cookies too. Both times we stayed we went across the street for some good pizza too.
Harry and V.B. Ahir do everything they can to help their guests. Nycole did a marvelous job in the breakfast room cooking my eggs to order and remembering how I liked them. Sharma, in addition to keeping our room clean, helped with requests. We arrived before check-in time, and Jesse, the weekend breakfast cook, who was leaving for the day, stayed awhile to help us. We will definitely be staying at the Quality Inn on our next trip to Durango. Bob and Kathy
This Quality Inn was one of the best. It is clean, well maintained, and had the friendliest staff I have ever seen. They do everything they can do to make your stay a pleasant. The amenities are great with hot tubs and a pool (in season). The wifi works and they have a computer setup room, not to mention being on the Animas River and also having the Durango Silverton railroad go by. The hot breakfast is another plus.
The rooms were clean. The beds were very comfortable, the breakfast was better than most, including they would make your eggs to order. the staff was polite. i couldn't ask for anything more. the pool looked inviting.
