Elopement retreat

The house was perfect for what we needed, beds were comfy and the kitchen was well stocked. We were able to have a small family dinner (discussed with extremely responsive hosts first of course!) on the large porch with spectacular views of the lake and mountains beyond, including the one we hiked for our private elopement that weekend. The home was clean, and the lower level space was a great bonus area for my niece and nephew to safely play while we cooked.

Maintenance issues. Didn’t realize we would be a 30-minute drive from Durango or that Purgatory would be closed most of the time. Lake access was impossible—thought we would be able to walk down a fish or kayak. Nope. Still,beautiful setting and escape fro Texas heat.

Great time in Durango!

We had a great stay! It was the perfect home base to explore locally and drive to national parks in both Utah and Colorado. The house was clean and the views were beautiful. Very comfortable linens. Hot tub was perfect. Thanks for a great stay!

Great getaway, perfect for skiing!

The cabin is great, super warm and really spacious. We loved how close it was to the ski resort. The Kitchen had all the essentials and the complementary toiletries were great. You will definitely need an AWD vehicle for winter but we were able to get in and out pretty easily. Overall a great stay! We would love to go back next year.

Perfect location with amazing views!

My fiancé and I stayed with our 2 dogs at the end of October and it was the perfect fall getaway. The house had everything we needed and the views were amazing. We enjoyed the easy access to trails nearby and my fiancé enjoyed fishing on the lake. It was a very easy check in and out process and the house was very clean. We loved getting to take our dogs and were so glad they were pet friendly! Could not recommend the property enough as well as Vacation Rental Collective. Will definitely be booking with them again!

Stunning property and perfect location to visit the area

Absolutely loved our stay here. We used this as our home base to visit Durango, Ouray, and Silverton. The property views are stunning and the amenities are perfect. The owners allowed us to bring our dogs, which we are so grateful for because we love to travel with them and spend our days outside exploring and hiking. This was our anniversary trip and we fell in love with the area, so we will definitely be back!

Relaxing Get Away

Wonderful! We had a great time. Loved the house and the view. We felt very comfortable and welcomed. The property was nice and clean. Also, like that it was close to a lot of the things we wanted to go and do. We would definitely consider staying here again❤️

Quiet Woods Retreat

Amazing Property!!

Everything was perfect and in great condition. The new kitchen appliances were fantastic. The hot tub and double deck were superb. And those views!! Engineer Mountain and Columbine Lake really set the mood for relaxation and serenity. Excellent location in proximity to Silverton/Ouray/Durango as well. Hiked Ice Lakes Trail during my stay, which was about a 45-minute drive up the Million Dollar Highway. Only enhanced this incredible stay! Highly recommend and might even have to return in the future! Thank you so much for an unforgettable memory!!

Peaceful Paradise

Everything about the property met or exceeded our expectations from the peaceful mornings to the starlit skies. We saw 3 shooting stars, a beaver swimming along the shoreline, and most spectacular of all were the three young bald eagles who swooped in 3 separate times to secure a dinner. We hated to leave but took our memories home with us!

This was such a beautiful, peaceful location in the woods, on the lake! Even had a bald eagle perch on a tree right next to the house for most the morning! We LOVED it and can’t wait to come back!!!

Sorely Disappointed

Spectacular views and awesome location. Hot tub was nice. Heating elements on stove badly needed replacing. Refrigerator needed resetting every few hours or it would shut off. Ice maker did not work at all. Carpet in den and kitchen area was covered in burns from fireplace and cigarettes. Dishes in cabinets covered with stuck on food. Corroded leaky pipes in garage. Back deck and the screen door leading to it in bad need of repair/replacing. There were mouse droppings in the cabinet under the kitchen sink. The home looks to have been built in the mid 1980’s and has had little maintenance since.

Lakeside cabin

Located on a pretty, small lake with peak views. Upstairs living area is small, but downstairs is roomier. There is a major safety hazard: the walkway to the front door doesn't have a railing. It's a short drop, but you could easily break a bone with one wrong step. The kitchen needs a re-do. The insides of the cabinets were sticky and there was dried food on the dishes. We had to wash everything before we used it. The stove was a joke; the heating coils don't even fit. The original microwave is broken and the replacement is in an awkward place. The "new" refrigerator/freezer was out of operation for two days. The repairman was helpful, but we had to leave it unplugged for over 24 hours, ruining everything in the freezer and compromising the safety of items in the fridge. If the owner fixes up the kitchen, this would be a very good (though dated) rental. Close to Purgatory resort, about 30 minutes north of Durango.

Fantastic property in a fantastic location

Property is outdated, but that doesn't matter with everything that it has to offer. View from deck is incredible, location is perfect, super quiet, beautiful lake. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get away.
