First of all, I understand that there is no aircon in most of the rooms since it is likely to happen in other German houses. One thing I did not expect was the safety of our belongings. I casually put my iPad and my phone on the table when I left my room this morning and when I came back at night, they were already gone. I left my room at about 1 PM with the TV ON AND i put the PRIVACY SIGN on my door. When I came back at 8.45 PM at night, the TV was already OFF. I first suspected that it was set to automatically turn off but that was already weird. Then, when i wanted to use my iPad I realised it was not there. I checked my luggage and I also noticed that some of my stuff was not where they were supposed to be, my pouches were not closed properly as I usually close them and the stuff I just shopped the other day was already unproperly wrapped. I immediately checked for security cameras in front of my room but there were no security camera. I came down to the lobby and talked to the lady at the reception. In my view she was not that helpful with the lost of my belongings. However she called the police to help dealing with this incident. This is such a disappointment for a 4-star hotel like this.
The room was spacious and the location is great and close to the conference. Love the customer service and enjoyed staying at this hotel. Special thanks to Nikolela and Clara. I would love to come back in the future.
Standard disclaimer: This review is affected by a bad personal and seasonal experience. The hotel is listed as a four-star hotel and while surprisingly Spartan for such, it is clean, modern and at least my room was good-sized and well outfitted. The staff speaks English and the location close to the southern end of Königsallee is excellent, whether you want to go for a stroll or use public transport. The surrounding restaurants are of varied cuisine and generally of good quality. Then the bad. There is no air-conditioning in the superior rooms, despite a control unit mounted on the wall. Düsseldorf can be downright tropical in the summer and the room got so hot that not even the minibar fridge could keep its contents cold anymore. You have to keep both windows open and while the hotel is generally quiet and well-soundproofed, the streets and restaurants outside are not. My booking at this hotel during summertime was a mistake, plain and simple, and the hotel staff simply had no answer to the suffocating heat. I could add a minor complaint about the hotel wifi, which was unstable and at times downright weird.
A well located hotel with comfortable rooms and nicely fitted bathroom. I found the WIFI slow in the evening. Breakfast selection was not bad but not worth €20. I could have used a harder pillow and would suggest such an option is included in all rooms. Check in and check out were efficient and polite.
Very comfortable and relaxing, great location convenient to the shopping and altstat areas and to the rail station. Good restaurant "Rosie's" alongside. Quiet, clean with friendly and efficient staff. Good, free wifi in room. You won't go wrong by booking here.
No air con available in this Hotel. When I arrived to the room, this was about 30 C. Only way to sleep is keeping windows completly open during the night, so you can hear perfectly all the noise all long night. This may be accpetable in the 80' but not in 2017. The rest of the Hotel is ok, but I won't come here again. To sleep well is priority nº1 to me.
I stayed 2 nights. First night: I arrived by 00:30 after a long day. Made the check-in and the gentleman at the reception asked for the voucher (the room was booked by the agency who works with us) and I said to him: as soon as I switch on my computer in the room I send you the voucher to the email address you provide me. Answer: no, now. Sorry? I want it now. I had to open the suitcase, start the computer, connect to wifi and send him the voucher. Otherwise he didn´t give me the key. The room was small and had no AC!! 30ºC outside, and therefore inside. In the morning I went to the reception and asked about the air, thinking there will be some technical problems. No sir we don´t have AC in most if the rooms, and she offered me a fan. I said: to be honest so far the experience is being terrible. What would I have replied to a customer saying this: what´s happening sir? what´s the problem? How can we help you? What did the arrogant lady at the reception replied with a cynic smile in her face: thank you. If I was your boss I would fire you immediately. You are an arrogant who does not care at all about customers. Useless at your position therefore. The breakfast was at the same level, very very poor. Terrible experience, horrible.
very warm in the room. Airco not working. Very noisy with windows open. Waste of money. Also shower smelling bad. Breakfast very good and hotel and rooms are clean. Missed the car park as I couldn't find a sign directing the hotel parking which is around the corner.
Visited Dusseldorf this month, on a business trip (Interpack 2017 exhibition), which I have been doing in a regular basis since 2002. First time at NH Hotel. Very well located, just around the corner of one of the most important avenues in the city (Konigsallee), and a few hundred meters from the subway. There is a nice German restaurant just a few meters off the main door, which is a good option after a whole day walking at Interpack. But if you like, you can also walk down Konigsallee and reach the oldtown (Altstadt) for an entire selection of bars. If it is sunny, I suggest one of the restaurants by the river. Staff of the hotel very receptive and kind. Nice and comfortable room (seemed renovated recently). If I have to suggest some improvement, I would say that a closet with space for hang your suites and shirts would be great.
I stayed here for one night to attend an event. Good location, close to Königsallee and walking distance to Altstadt. Room is modern, even though rather small. Breakfast is fine, average. One major problem was the lack of air conditioning in the room. End of may, the temperature outside was 28 degrees.. This really affected the quality of my sleep. Overall I would recommend the hotel, hoping for the AC to be fixed or implemented also during late spring when it can get very hot in Germany.
