Good points: staff welcoming, both rooms and communal areas very clean, entertainment team work very hard and are friendly with a special mention for Helena (French speaking). Food freshly cooked, with a reasonable variety of meat and fish, not so much for vegetarians. Lovely big pool with plenty of beds and umbrellas, beach towels are provided free which useful and a nice bonus. Not so good points: booking was for room with queen beds; what we got was two single beds pushed together..., drinks in the bar are expensive and as other reviewers have said because of location there is little alternative, the sun beds although plentiful many of them were very grubby, which wasn't very pleasant and could so easily have been rectified. The hotel is advertised as family friendly and it definitely is and probably more suited to them than couples. I would say I think it is a littleoverpriced but overall I enjoyed my stay there
Arrived for 11nights at this hotel The view is stunning and pool is lovely but soo cold so hardly anyone went in it Food was exactly the same basically for the whole time We ate out in the evenings as we like to try different places but wow soo expensive anywhere you go Entertainment team are great and loved their music everyday and long chats especially mario and the girl who spoke french so sorry cant remember her name All staff soo friendly and they made our holiday Sunbeds always available at any time of the day Oh and loved the beer and the cute cats Will return one day i hope
Nice rooms, good buffet, nice pool, friendly staff, near the beach. The bus stop is a short uphill walk, and from the time you leave the room till you get to old Town, it would take 25-30 mins. WiFi in our room was poor and patchy, but great across the resort. The reception was slow at check in due to groups. Quite happy we had taken a full board package (incl alcohol), because old town was the most expensive amongst our trip of Zagreb, Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik.
I visited with my sister for a week. The hotel is set in a beautiful location right by the beach and only ten minutes via a frequent bus into old town (which is stunning). For a 3 star the hotel is in good condition with decent clean rooms. The food was pretty good. The freshly cooked pizzas were absolutely amazing. Drinks you can only have with meals and they don't let you fill up your water bottles but have over priced drinks at their own bar. You might as well go to one of the lovely beach bars nearby to get a drink at the same price. What bought my rating down were the entertainment team. They are only doing their job but whoever thought it was a good idea for them to shout and scream down a microphone with awful music blaring, for six hours a day, is absolutely crazy. When you try to escape the noise to get some peace and quiet, you can still hear the microphone and music echoeing across the bay from the beach below. It's just really unnecessary and nothing to this extent that I've witnessed before at other hotels. If they spent some of their profits on getting better quality sunbeds, instead of the rock gard white ones, small things like this make a massive difference.
From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were amazed at how friendly the staff were. We had originally booked a balcony with a park view and were upgraded at no extra charge to a sea view. We paid for full board which meant breakfast, lunch and dinner including soft drinks, wine and beer. The food was excellent, so much choice and plenty of it. We were absolutely spoilt for choice. We loved the entertainment team who had so much energy from morning until nighttime. They were all so friendly especially Helena and Mario. I have stayed in many hotels and not bothered with the evening entertainment as they were so boring but in this hotel, I couldn't wait to watch the team. I even joined in round the pool for Zumba which I loved! The location was excellent. Cava Beach and Cocapana Beach were excellent and right on our doorstep although I would have preferred sand! We took a walk to the other nearby Valamar Hotels and although bigger, posher and more facilities, the atmosphere at the Valamar Club beats them all. The hotel was very basic, the rooms were a bit dated and the bathroom was very small but the staff, entertainment team, food and location make up for a fantastic holiday. We took either a bus or taxi to the old town which was amazing although I am glad we didn't stay there because it was too hectic.
This place is not well marked and may not be exact on GPS. Nice place though. Rooms were clean but seemed slightly dated. First time I stayed at an all-inclusive place. At least that's how they billed it. I call it mostly inclusive. Food and drinks, including beer and wine, from the cafeteria during meal hours were included. Getting a drink at the pool bar was not. Nice pool facility, nicely connected to the beach below, pretty good food and only a short (10 min) drive to old town Dubrovnik.
Stayed here for a week at the end of August with my husband and 2 kids (5&8). It is a fairly bland looking, functional hotel both from the outside and inside. However what it lacks in appearance it makes up with location, fab pool, and friendly staff. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the all inclusive food was. Fresh pizzas made in front of you. Daily grill, fish or meat was excellent. Fresh fruit and salads. Of course it does get a bit samey, and a week was long enough! The hotel pool is massive and loads of sun loungers. Lots of entertainment for kids and adults alike, so be prepared for noise most of the day around the pool! Lovely location right on the peninsular, great views! Easy to access Dubrovnik old town by bus, although discovered Uber was much quicker and far cheaper! The kids were kept occupied with kids club which was really well ran by some great girls who were incredibly attentive, highly recommend! The room was okay. It was spotlessly cleaned, daily. The bed was firm and pillows okay. Tiny shower room but good water pressure and modern fittings, worked perfectly. We had a room that had an adjoining door, unfortunately this meant we could hear, and no doubt be heard by people/family next door! If you want one room, I suggest not getting a family room, but a standard double with extra beds! Much quieter. All in all, exceptional value for money, don't forget this is a 3 star hotel. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Just make sure you buy water and provisions from the mini market outside the hotel. Drinks are really expensive outside of the all inclusive meal times!
Don't expect all inclusive - it isn't! You have to pay for water during any non-mealtimes (which works out at £3.70 a bottle!) and you aren't allowed to top up your own bottle for the day either! The breakfast selection is poor at best - stale bread, raw omelette, there was bacon in the 'vegetarian' cooked veg selection and no fresh juices unless you pay extra of course! Rooms are ok but don't expect anything special - definitely not worth the price tag. There are no local shops so you are pretty much stuck here paying things you expected would be included in the price. Only good thing I can say is about Andre and Mario the pool/entertainment staff who were very welcoming and friendly - overall would not recommend.
Stayed here at the end of July beginning of August with my husband, 8 year old son, mum, dad and brother, for 10 days in this great hotel. Couldn't fault it, hotel was very clean, staff everywhere very friendly. Room are small but you only shower and sleep in them so wasn't a massive issue. Kids/adult entertainment was excellent in fact the best we have come across. My 8 year old had a great time day and evening, some days we didn't see him for hours as he was having too much fun. Food was great for a 3* hotel lots to choose from and yes they did repeat what they cooked. Omelettes breakfast time were lovely and freshly made to your liking. Pizzas lunch/dinner time were a hit with everyone. Pool area was FAB very large plenty of beds and umbrellas. Some people though did have a tendency to take beds or umbrellas if you left them for lunch, so we ended up going to lunch in shifts just so we didn't lose these items. You definitely need the umbrella shade as it gets proper hot! Short walk down the back path to the beach which was lovely very busy and you definitely need aqua shoes as it's very stoney. Babin Kuk where this hotel is situated is lovely and not spoilt, from the front entrance of the hotel to your right there is a small shopping centre with a few shops, bars and restaurants. Definitely worth a visit. Bus stop is a short walk from the shopping centre this takes you into Lapad and Dubrovnik old town which is an absolutely must see. Would definitely recommend Dubrovnik and this hotel to friends and family. Hopefully one day we will visit Croatia again and maybe this hotel again....
We have stayed at this hotel 4 times and it has always been excellent. The food is good, the entertainment is fantastic and the staff go out of their way to be helpful. The pool is lovely and the kids are well looked after, nothing is too much trouble. The only negative is the prices of drinks but the world-class shows and entertainment on an evening make up for it. We will return!!
