Stayed here with other family members whilst attending a relatives wedding. The Hotel has great views overlooking the bay, we opted for a sea view & to be honest you’d be daft not to as there’s buildings either side of the hotel & a large wall behind. The place was clean & modern with graphics & prints adorning the walls. The staff were polite & friendly, the room was cleaned daily & there was a good selection of food for breakfast. Would have been great to have an all inclusive option at this hotel purely for convenience of not having to carry money when at the pool or beach. The Main Street with all the bars, restaurants & shops is a couple of minutes walk away & Dubrovnik just a short taxi ride. Get to see some amazing sunsets too.

Very nice hotel in a very nice location. The room is small and has one armchair to relax in. Not enough space to add another armchair. The bathroom is spacious with combined shower in a bathtub. The room comes with a safe, fridge and coffee making facilities. It has a good size balcony with very comfortable chairs. The bed is very comfortable. Ask for rooms 1 to 12 on any floor as this is the front wing facing the bay. The view from the other wing starting from number 13 onward is partially or fully blocked by a wall. Some of the rooms in this wing, on the 8 or 9th floor have views but we did not check that out. Sit out on the beach and enjoy a lovely sunset. There are 10 floors and the floors go downwards as the hotel is built into the hill and the lobby is on the 10th (top) floor. IT has a nice bar on the top floor with a great view. All the usual amenities and can be considered a better quality 4 star hotel. It is 6.5 kilometers from the old town center. So that's not very convenient unless you actually want to stay away from the center. There is a lovely street with many bars and restaurants once you get out on the ground floor and turn left. The hotel has access to the beach and also has it's own swimming pool. Breakfast on the ground floor restaurant, included with the room has a good choice of food. Service is good though like in most places in the Balkans, staff don't smile much. I guess this will change as more tourists visit.

We stooped here the last 2 weeks in August and had a lovely time, every part of the hotel is absolutely immaculate and spotlessly clean. All the hotel staff were very friendly and polite just what you want, we stayed half board and the food was very nice this included a buffet breakfast and evening meal. A couple of things we found out no from reception but from the staff was you could eat on an evening from the A la carte menu at no extra cost which we did on a couple of occasions. I'm not sure whether it was getting towards the end of the season but there were always plenty of sun beds available I'm not sure what this would be like if the hotel was full, we only tried the out door pool because we had great weather but this was very nice and clean. Drinks could be a bit pricey but no more expensive than any of the other high end hotels in this area. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for the week bed and breakfast.Breakfast served from 6.30 til about 10ish I think.Something for everyone.Ate here on an evening a couple of nights.Service not super quick but good and food is good.A pint of beer is expensive,56Hk,1/3 off in happy hour.Cheaper bar 50 yds up the road,25Hk a pint.Supermarket nearby, buses regular, good few bars and hotels also nearby.15-20mins by bus to Old town.Lovely place to stay.

We were very happy with Hotel Kompas....the view from our balcony was mesmerizing! The first night, we are at the hotel restaurant, Sphere. I went a la cart when I saw Baked Polenta Dumpling with Truffle Sauce on the was so delicious that I went back for more the next night! Of course, we ate Al fresco, which made the experience perfect!

Was recommended The Kompas and just had 5 nights there totally recommend it great hotel excellent service very polite and friendly staff. Nothing was to much trouble the buffet breakfasts were excellent with so much choice When we return will will stay at the Kompas again

Hotel is beautiful and the rooms a touch of luxury. We had a room with a view of a high wall which wasn't the nicest thing to look at and sitting on the balcony was very pleasant. The staff were friendly and pleasant and worked very hard to keep the hotel pristine. We booked breakfast and evening meals, the food was excellent quality but not an amazing selection though we always managed to enjoy a meal and evening meals have live music for you to enjoy if you choose to sit outside. The pool area overlooks the beach but is very small - we only managed to use the area once during our stay due to it having limited sunbeds though the hotel has an area reserved on the beach for guests but the beach and sea is pebble and stones - the beach bar here is much cheaper than the hotel. The area of Lapad is nice enough, very few shops though and not much going on in the evening but if you enjoy sitting out in the evening enjoying a pleasant drink under twinkly lights its's a lovely place to visit.

This property is located in the main hotel center about 2 miles from the historical city center. The common areas in this modern style hotel are very attractive and offer great views of the Adriatic below. There is a large pool deck with plenty of lounge chairs. Our sea view room was very nice, with ample space, a balcony and a decent size bathroom. By hotel standards, the gym is large and well equipped (including dumbbells to 20kg).

Hanging on a cliff incredible views, lovely restaurants for breakfast lunch and dinner keeps u always gazing at the Adriatic. Loved our room. Excellent service. Not in old town which for us was a huge relief after being in every old town in Croatia. A great place to unwind and feel special.

Our stay was for 7 nights. This was a celebration for my Mum’s 80th Birthday. As all reviews say this is a stunning hotel with panoramic views and amazingly friendly staff. Without exception they were all great. Our room was located on the 10th floor, our view of the bay and sunset was phenomenal. Housekeeping was ok, the room was spotless with bed change daily if required but the balcony wasn’t swept or cleaned down for quite a few days. Beds were super comfortable but pillows too soft for me, although these could be changed. Mini bar stocked,as as you would expect expensive but that didn’t deter us! Hairdryer is in the bathroom and one of those fixed ones so not great. Toiletries are supplied and pretty basic. There is a laundry service but you can ask for an iron and board to use too. Food Breakfast standard buffet and good. We opted for half board, the choice although limited was of a good standard and food was hot and cooked well. Desserts were lovely. Evenings had live music which was nice to have whilst eating. Getting around was easy, we opted for the local bus and stops were easy walking distance away. Turn left on coastal path from hotel follow route past bars and restaurants and it’s on your right at the roundabout. There is a post office and bank there too. Buses run every 10 min and cost 12kuna. If you reach this roundabout and walk straight ahead 10 min walk downhill takes you to Lapad bay and Gruz harbour there are a couple a little bars down there and a yaught club. Further along from the bus stop on the right there is a large supermarket and lovely bakery. The bakery has an ajoining bar which is open till midnight. Drinks here are much cheaper than on the strip area. We also walked along the coastal path to the right of the hotel and this takes you past a number of hotels. At the end of the path is no 1 bus stop so if you want a guaranteed seat chose this option as soon as it reaches the main roundabout bus stop the bus is full and more!! We took the 3 island boat trip on Karaka and visited Cavtat twice which were all a welcome relief from Dubrovnik Old Town which was so congested. I will return to this area and would have no hesitation in choosing Kompas again it truly was a wonderful hotel. Plan a big budget here as prices are high for everything!!
