I am in this hotel for my week trip to Dubrovnik. I initially was booked in to a hotel in Cavtat however this was too far from Dubrovnik so I found this hotel and rebooked. I am so glad I did. This hotel is superb. Whilst it is not in the centre of Dubrovnik it is only a bus ride away. The bus no is 6 and the bus stop is just outside the front of the hotel. It takes about 7 mins to get to Dubrovnik. We purchased our bus tickets from the hotel. Normally it would cost you 15kns per person if you buy the tickets on the bus but if you get your tickets from the hotel it’s 12kns (£1.45)per person for return. The hotel is very clean. The service is wonderful. The rooms are spacious as are the bathrooms ( soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion provided but NO shower gel). I would suggest getting a room with a balcony since they face the sea. There are no irons or boards in the room but you just call reception and they will provide you with both). The plugs are the normal European type. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. There is ample wardrobe space and there is a safe in the wardrobes. The fridge in your room is filled however you pay premium for the drinks and peanuts as in most hotels. There is a beach which is called the Presidents Beach (the president hotel is a part of the hotel group and is 5*) but you can access the beach since you are staying in a Valamar hotel complex. The beaches in Croatia are very small in comparison to others elsewhere and there are very little sandy beaches since most are pebbles. The hotel is large and has 3 pools (2 outside and one inside ). The pools are impressive and the main pool outside feels like and infinity pool looking out at the sea. The pool is also placed in a sun spot so the sun is always out. The loungers are luxurious with shades you can adjust so the sun does not get in your eyes. The hotel provides you with a card which you hand in to the pool attendant who gives you a towel and returns the card to you when you return the towel. There is also a bar so you can order drinks while you lounge in the sun (drinks are charged) There is also a spa area where you can pay to have treatments however you may use both the Saunas ( like warm and very warm) and the steam room for free. They’re are lockers in the changing rooms and you get the free key from the spa attendant. There are hairdryers and shower gels in the changing rooms (no separate shampoo and conditioner just a Lux shower gel). There is a tennis court on the complex although I will not be using it. There is a very nice gym with modern equipment although I won’t be using it. I came on a half board basis. It only cost £8 more per person per day but was worth every penny. The breakfast buffet was impressive with so much to choose from. Coffee and other drinks are free at breakfast time. If you are on an early day trip they will pack you a little lunchbox and keep it at reception for when you leave. The evening meal is also extensive and there is way too much to choose from. The quality of the food is very high and all the guests while I am here said the same about the food being lovely. Please note that ALL DRINKS are to be paid for in the evening even water (no drinks come for free in the evening ) There is a bar on the ground floor (floor 2). Here there is entertainment in the evening (like a man on the piano). The bar serves bar snacks during the day when the restaurant is closed. The cost of the food varies depending on what you choose but the quantity is filling. The staff are very helpful and courteous. There is a tour desk in the reception area and here you can book most tours. After scouting around several places for tours we found that they all amounted to the same price after the so called discount being applied. The hotel tour guide does not apply discount and you pay the fixed price ( works out around 30 kns difference from outside stalls - 30 kns= £3.50). This hotel is one I rate very highly and one I would recommend to any single, couple or family. You have a fabulous view of the sun setting each evening.

This huge property is a 20 min bus ride from the old town. The major complaint we had was the poor sleep due to the very poor pillows that were totally flat of a very poor quality. The bathrooms lacked counter space for our toiletries, which were also not great quality. Also must say the distance to the beaches are further than expected. The restaurant for breakfast offered a huge variety, but have a hard time keeping up with the masses of people.

Very nice hotel. Clean rooms and nice bathrooms. Maybe a little on the small side. Might be worth paying extra for a room with a view of pool or sea. We only had a view of parking lot. The buffet breakfast was very extensive, many choices. Nice little bar in the reception area. The terrace facing the bay has a wonderful view. Indoor swimming pool was also a plus, but no hot tub. It is quite a ways from the Old City. Need car or bus ride to get there. A few other hotels near by and a couple of restaurants, but not much else.

Hotel was super clean. Staff was always helpful. The food selection for the breakfast and dinner buffets was excellent. Glad they had an ATM inside. They had extra toothbrushes! This is a big hotel. You have to walk a little.

Almost a year late with this review, apologies. We stumbled upon this fabulous hotel in August 2016 and almost immediately decided that this was the place for our wedding. We travelled to Croatia twice more to arrange things and the ceremony, with 42 family and friends, took place in the hotel grounds in June 2017. The day itself was fantastic, the hotel staff were brilliant and the whole thing was even better than we had hoped. The 20 plus people that stayed for the week with us had nothing but praise for the hotel, there was nothing to fault even though some of us tried! We are going back at the end of June this year for our anniversary. If there are any negative reviews on here, ignore them. The place is superb. If you are thinking of going, go!

Had a lovely time here. A comfortable place in a great environment. A good clean property with a labyrinth of rooms, some overlooking the sea, some overlooking the lovely gardens, most with balconies. Breakfast was amazing. What a choice and the staff were the warmest most obliging you could meet. Constantly attentive and considerate. Both within the property and in the dining areas. Though five kilometers outside the old town of Dubrovnik, the number 6 bus speedily takes you to the Pile Gate to the old town. Tickets can be purchased from the newsagent within the hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, very clean and reasonably well appointed. The bathrooms were better facilitated than other properties recently stayed at. Loved the multitude of pillows to choose from. Very comfortable pillows. Nice toiletries provided with good towels in the bathrooms. Could not get the air conditioning to obey me, it remained cool inside, a little cool for me, but outside it was pretty warm so better that way than not operational, one might say. The property had lovely placid resident felines, beautiful gardens, nice sea views and an excellent swimming pool. Did I mention the breakfasts. Excellent options and multitude of choices. Highly recommended.

Stayed in hotel 3 days and can say that stuff is realy nice and willing to help. The only thing I didn’t like in hotel is that it’s really loud at athe evening. People are staying in the bar till approximately till 2am and talking realy loud so If you are planing to get rest you will probably not be able to fall a sleep till 2am. My advice bring earplugs.

This hotel has 'view' rooms, but the extra $60 per night wasn't really worth it. Save the money for one of the nearby restaurants. If you have time you must check out the pool area. There is a cold pool outside and a heated pool inside. If you go to the sauna don't be surprised if you are surrounded by people with no clothing. It's Europe.

I am really speechless with this hotel. From the courteous front desk personal that are there to help with anything we need to the rest of the staff. I can tell they work really hard to make this place shine in all aspects. The view is breath taking. The food is awesome. The rooms and bathrooms are really cleaned. I will definitely stay here again if in Croatia. ThAnkyou for providing me with an amazing experience.

We usually book small family run hotels so staying at the Lacroma with 400 rooms was rather daunting. However, we were pleasantly surprised, felt very comfortable and welcomed by the staff who couldn't do enough. The location was excellent as we could catch the local bus which runs every 15 minutes into the old town and stroll down to the small but lovely beach. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing break and mustn't forget the breakfast which was truly amazing !!!
