This was supposed to be our last and final "luxury" stop on our honeymoon. We went through Turkey, Bulgaria and Montenegro prior to this, and Hotel Ariston was the most disappointing. The views of the sea and mountains are absolutely breathtaking. There are also many beautiful beach access points at the hotel. We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite which was very nice. Unfortunately this was the extent of our positive experience with the hotel, and everything else ranged from average to very disappointing. When we arrived we went to have food at the rooftop pool bar. I ordered a chicken parmigiana (food and drink prices in the hotel are comparable to US hotel prices). What I received was a breaded chicken cutlet and fries (picture 1). I alerted the bartender, she agreed that something seemed missing, 10 minutes later I received a bowl of marinara sauce to go with my now cold dry chicken, which unfortunately still falls short of a chicken parm. We spoke to a manager who refunded us for the meal. We had hot water 2/5 days. The other three days hot water would cut in and out in 10 second intervals, requiring one hand on the regulator to prevent being hit with scalding hot or ice cold water. Hotel uses vinegar to wash water coffee makers. When we tried to use one, we were hit in the face with pungent smell of vinegar. Front desk confirmed this practice that I never encountered before. Overall looks like at one time this was a five star property, but is far from it today.
