the faucet leaks, safe doesn't work. Staff refused to be flexible in rebooking.
My wife and I arrived very early from an international flight, remarkably the staff did all they could (offering us coffee, water etc.) while rooms were being readied. Ultimately they provided us with a room well before the prescribed check-in time.
Loved it! We had a Georgian Suite, it was HUGE! I liked all the luxurious touchess like His/Her robes waiting for us, small box of chocolate, & even a discount card to use in the facilities on site. Our room was well appointed & the bed was the most comfortable one of the week during our visit to Ireland! Hotel staff was very helpful & bar staff was exceptionally friendly. We were easily able to wal to Temple Bar from here as well as the Trinity area.
Everyone was helpful at Trinity and in Dublin, this was one of the best trips I have ever had
Everybody was incredibly friendly and accommodating and really went out of their way to be helpful. The location is convenient to the city center and many bus stops; felt very safe. If you are looking for a really quiet room, make sure to mention it to the staff - some rooms face a rather busy street; I asked for a quiet room and had a very lovely courtyard facing room; very clean; breakfast is fantastic. But truly I can't emphasize enough how helpful all the people who work there were.
This is in a great location for walking to everything in Dublin. It is safe and plenty of local places to eat and visit. The hotel is nicer than the pictures make it look I think. My room was a king which they upgraded me to for free. You have to remember that you are in a big European city so the hotel rooms are not huge like they are in the US but the bed was very comfortable and I had all that I needed.
Hotel was good, clean and attention from staff was good. My issue now is that they have charged me a no show fee, and it has been a nightmare to have this fixed, even though they accepted my Orbiz reservation and asked my for my CC just for incidentals At time of check out they gave me receipt and said there was only a charge for Car Parking overnight.
This was our second stay in Dublin and this hotel was a perfect location to explore the city. Very charming and extremely clean!
The Trinity Capital Hotel was a great end to our honeymoon. They rooms were cozy and comfortable and really gave us a last night of sleep that felt like a dream. When we arrived they were able to check us in right away and even gave us an upgrade just because our room wasn't ready. The staff was friendly and the rooms were great! The bed linens were clean...and smelled clean which is a rare thing in the hotel industry. It came with a pot to warm water for coffee and tea. This was definitely a step up for the first place we stayed in Dublin...this building looks new on the inside...so if they recently had a remodel..it looks great.
Took my family to Ireland after being in Italy for 5 weeks. What a great time. Perfect location. Only wished I could have stayed for 5-6 more days. Great landmarks, shopping and food. Had a few pints of the Mothers-milk. Awesome!!!!!!
This hotel did NOT meet my expectation. As I was only staying one night between flights, I noted that long term guests were given rooms upon AM arrival and I heard the clerk tell the guest not to broadcast his early check-on. severa others who arrived much later than me were provided rooied before me and even taking an hour plus walk around the city before I try again did not help. When I finally got my room, it had no AC and as a diabetic I needed to keep my insulin cold. Also no in room ref. I was charged 25 Euro extra for a room with AC and they did provide a small ref for that fee. I ate at the resturant for lunch and dinner. Both times the staff was unattentive and the wait for my meals was excessive, In fact, when I finished dinner, the manager was closing the cash reigister and the waiter was taking orders for snacks from the bar so after waiting 20 minutes I walk out, I did go the reception desk to complain and settled the bill at check out. Bear in mind, that I have traveled on business for 30 years and this was by and far the worst service I have ever had.
The best location. You can walk everywhere and feel safe, you are right above/next to a fire station and the main police station of Dublin. Our bathroom was overall clean but had a funky smell and we asked it to be cleaned again and it still had a funky smell. Very pricey but if you can afford it a great location. Overall value ok.
Walking into this hotel is a hoot -- craziest furniture and decor! The owner must have had a blast. The front desk staff and doorman are unbelievably friendly and helpful (and that's saying a lot for Ireland, where EVERYBODY is welcoming). One night early in our stay some drunk Americans (typical) were shouting in the hallway at 3am a call to the front desk had it settled in minutes. On our return night we were in a room with some slightly frayed furniture, but everything is clean and fresh. Minutes to great breakfast places and central sites.
Got an extremely great rate on the hotel and for the money was a great value. The hallways were a bit dated and the room was a bit dark. The room was clean and tidy but definitely looked it's age. The hotel in great walking distance to all of the local attractions.
Hotel is centrally located and right across the street from Trinity University. No trouble getting around, close to bus pick up and drop off locations. Easy walk to food, breakfast at the hotel was great as well.
I arrived at 8:00 am and check in time isn't until 2:00pm. I was pretty wiped out after traveling from San Francisco to Dublin. The front desk staff was able to get me into a room by 10:00am. I was very comfortable while I waited, at first in the dining area enjoying a great cup of coffee and then in the beautiful lobby. The room was very small, but I didn't intend on spending much time in there anyway. It did get a bit stuffy at night even with the window open. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were quite soft and comfortable as well. The morning buffet was good if you like the traditional Irish breakfast, but there was plenty of fruit and cereal and pastries to fill in. The service in the bar was very good. Several evenings had wine and appetizers and the offerings were quite adequate. The hotel is only two blocks from Grafton, Trinity College, St. Stevens Square and the Liffey. It's only a few more blocks to Temple Bar. Walking distance as well to the museums and galleries.
Had some trouble with heater not working, but staff was helpful. Accommodations were a bit more cramped than expected, but everything was clean, location was central, and we really enjoyed breakfasts there!
Walking distance to all the hot spots. To see the city get a hop on hop off tour for 2 days. Well worth it. Hotel was very comfortable
Perfect central location to get around Dublin. Close to Temple Bar, Grafton Street, and public transport / tour bus options. Lobby, restaurant and bar areas were great and a nice place to relax at the end of the day. Our room was basic and not what I expected for a four star hotel. No space for anything other than the bed and a small table and chair for one, walls were paper thin, there was no air conditioning, and to top it off they decided to re-paint the hall that our room was on. Paid a premium expecting 4 star quality and this fell short.
The location is totally unbeatable if you want to enjoy Dublin city center. You are only a few blocks away from most of the top attractions and a very short taxi ride to the rest.
