Another great bday!!

Another great stay! I stayed here a couple of years ago for my birthday staycation and decided to do it again this year!!! Front desk staff was super nice!! The young gentleman bartender with the mustache( I cant remember his name) was very kind!! I remembered him from my last stay. I enjoy this hotel and it's location. This is now my go to when I want a staycation!!! Thank you so much!!

Got called a homeless person by hotel staff twice while in the parking garage never once asked if I had a room until I looked at the first staff member and asked if he would rather me smoke in my own room. Coming from a massive tourist city myself I have never once had issues with hotel staff thinking I’m homeless and trying to remove me from the property only to laugh very nervously once they found out I’m a paying guest. Elevators randomly shoot you out on floors they’re called to not ones you try to go to(tried to go to the 14th floor ended up on the 5th floor just to end up in the lobby then finally the 14th floor) honestly I have stayed in 66 dollar a night hotels that have treated me better never coming back again I’ll pay the extra 100+ to stay somewhere else downtown. If you don’t want people in the parking garage restrict access to it and don’t allow anyone with or without a keycard to enter it your failure to keep security tight shouldnt be an excuse to attempt to kick out paying customers.

All the service folks were so friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, price was excellent and location central, easy to get to different parts of downtown, safe. We had friends who stayed in hotels a block away, they paid more, got about the same thing we did. The hotel infrastructure is showing wear. At least one elevator was out of service during our 3-day stay so you stand and wait, and there are a few worn through spots in the carpet, but. My first Sonesta stay and I'd 100% do another.

If its your only option

The site has a glitch. I made sure my check in date was correct. Sonesta popped up as a spot for 145; average for the area; When I arrived we found that my reservation was for the next day. What is interesting ... I paid 262 for the room for the night! I checked the site for the rate for the mistaken day and it was at $91 that is a big difference from the 145 rate my original reservation was for. So double check you check in dates. For that price I would have rather stayed at a 5 star hotel and enjoyed the real amenities. I was under the impression that they had a free breakfast and parking. They didnt have a kitchen, it was under construction. The parking is across the street but if you want to utilize come and go Valet service it is an additional 55.00. The rooftop pool only looks good in pictures, its tiny, no bar. Not a Cali rooftop but they tried. And they leave you with a note that someone may come in during your stay to install a new tv. And for that Rate and the hotel lacking. This place is a NO from Me.

poor service

the room was good for the first days. Maintenance came in the room on the second to last day and made a mess replacing tvs. The maintenance man tried to come in on the morning of our last day and was insistent on gaining entry during my wife's shower. i had to physically step in front of him to stop him gaining entry. after that point the room wasn't Maintained or cleaned. We called twice and went to front desk and were assured that the room would be serviced and cleaned but we couldn't get them to come. we were very disappointed hat we couldn't get any service or get them to even clean up their mess from replacing the tvs.
