I decided to call the hotel since it was undecided if we would go with a standard room or family room. I was told a rate of $189 for family room which we decided to book. Upon arrival I was told charge for our room was $209. When I debated this with desk clerk based on rate I was told over the phone I was told "Someone must have made a mistake." Somebody did make a mistake, which I ended up having to pay for! If you do secure a rate over the phone ask for confirmation by Email. Beyond this, hotel is nice/clean. The family room was plenty big for our party of six. Many items on buffet breakfast. Kids really enjoyed the pool with super fast water slide especially out five year old (bit of a daredevil). Will be confirming room rate in writing if staying again.
Was storm stayed here and the air bnb we rented was booked so we had to move for a night. This place is nice, clean, new, well located for the airport. I wish it had a restaurant on site although the free breakfast was good.
I stayed at this hotel for one night before an early flight out of Deer Lake. The staff were friendly and the room clean. It’s CAD 12 for the 5-10 minute trip to the airport. A couple of things to bear in mind: 1. There is no restaurant for an evening meal but there is a reasonable pizza company that delivers 2. The walls seem to have very little sound proofing in them especially if you have a room which can be joined to the one next door through a door in the wall
Great, clean and above average offerings and service. The Inn is super clean and has an amazing staff! Where else do you find sandwiches , ice cream sandwiches in the cooler for you to buy when you are hungry. I received many calls to see if there was anything they could do for me! The breakfast is amazing and hearty. The coffee is really great in the breakfast area and really great in the rooms as well. The beds are super comfy and just wrap themselves around you when you go to sleep! I just can't say enough about this place!
We stayed here for the second year in a row for our daughter's U12 hockey tournament in Deer Lake. All players and their families stayed here. Plus players and families from two other teams. The hotel was wonderful both times. They organized scheduled pool times for each team to prevent overcrowding - (great idea but maybe finding out the tournament schedules could help for other tournaments to make it fair with the time-slots assigned for pool use). The view of the pool area from the breakfast room certainly made supervision of the girls easy. The access that we had to the breakfast room to socialize in the evenings also meant that there were no social activities in individual rooms, significantly decreasing the potential to create a bit more noise than is acceptable to other guests. The staff also made movies available for viewing in the breakfast room, along with extra snacks and board games. Rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable with labelled firm and soft pillows. Breakfast has a variety of different things to choose from, including hot items and fresh fruit. Our room had a fridge and microwave also, making it easy to keep healthy snacks on hand.
Stayed at the Holiday Inn Deer Lake for a couple nights. Absolutely pissed. Got woken up about 3 times from 6:30am - 10am by POWER TOOLS. $160 a night, I would expect to be able to sleep in peace...and quiet. At least until check out time?? ALL the rooms in this hotel and they have to start work on the one next to ours 6:30am? No. Not acceptable. We paid money to stay here. Never again
Stayed at this hotel in August returning from NF to Alberta and had to overnight at this hotel because of the early departure of my flight being 6 AM. Room was clean and comfortable and the service at the front desk was exceptional. The only major concern was the noise from the tenants above our room. Every step he/she took, I could literally hear in my room below.... needless to say, there was no sleep for me that nite. I could even hear the conversations from the room above.... no sound proof barrier in this hotel I promise. Getting to the hotel from the hwy was also another challenge.. terrible.... the hotel is tucked away and very hard to make access. Will stay at deer lake motel on our next visit
Have stayed here numerous times for family getaways. We love the pool, waterslide, and hot tub. The rooms are always clean, the staff are always friendly, and the breakfast setup is awesome. Looking forward to our next stay here already!
My wife & I needed to get away a bit & we chose this hotel for our stay in Nov., very clean & since we had a dog they upgraded us to a suite which was very nice of them to do. The room was very clean & the wifi worked very well, we did have a problem with the fridge not working but this did not bother us at the time. We had a microwave which my wife used often & there is coffee maker in our room too.
I only spent one night in Deer Lake. The staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The continental breakfast is one of the best I've enjoyed in my travels to date.
