My Wife and I stayed here for an overnight while travelling home to Alberta. Mixed feelings about the stay. Positives: property is clean and maintained, staff is friendly and complimentary breakfast area is well laid out with basic continental items. Negatives: beds are hard, shower pressure is weak, hallway noise can be easily heard in your room, and our neighbours were easy to hear through the closed but adjoining room doors (needless to say we were wide awake over an hour before our 7:00 am alarm). The accommodation felt a tad overpriced but it is the summer travel season. Bottom line: a safe, clean place to rest...but pack earplugs of your a light sleeper.
The General Manager Jeff is amazing person, friendly and helpful. The room had everything you need. . Clean room, Everything worked in the room. Clean bathroom. Wifi works. Breakfast basic. Im stay again.
Nice and updated Econo, beds were comfortable and spacious with fridge, micro wave and flat screen. Breakfast is basic and the same as all Econo's with some cereal, store bought small muffins, toast and the waffle maker. I would suggest extra and updated pillows for the rooms, you get two per bed and they are flatter than the waffles. Pool is small but was fairly warm and they make up for no coffee in the rooms with 24 hour coffee at the front counter. It is about time Econos updated the breakfast, hotel room cost is consistent with other chains that offer a better breakfast now. Still no recognition for being a choice member.. Good short stay for a couple nights
On a road trip, it's always nice to find a place that's reasonable and provides a comfortable, quiet, and clean environment when you get out of the car. Our overnight here was great, a respite from the hours on the road. There's a really nice walking trail nearby to stretch your legs and the restaurant next door was very good and meant we didn't have to drive anywhere. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The morning attendant advised me about a promotion Choice Hotels had at the time and I booked a stay at the Econo Lodge in Mt. Rushmore because of 1) the friendly service, and 2) how comfortable we were here. I don't live near here, but would stay again if I were driving through.
I had a simple overnight stay while traveling for business. I'll try to keep my review succinct, and just highlight my pros/cons. Pros: The price was very reasonable, $50 + tax for a single queen bed. Service was excellent -- very friendly staff at check-in and check-out. Hotel seemed very clean. Room size was reasonable, with a surprisingly spacious bathroom. Nice mini-fridge and microwave in the room. Cons: Hotel doors, windows, and walls are thin -- a lot of noise can carry through. I clearly heard a truck backing in late in the evening, exterior hotel doors shutting, TVs from other rooms, etc. I kept the fan on while I slept, which drowned things out fairly nicely, but if you are an exceptionally light sleeper the noise may be bothersome. The bed mattress is so-so. Nothing wrong with it, but not an excellent night sleep either. Pool is pretty tiny, even by hotel standards. No hot tub :( Not sure what makes the continental breakfast 'deluxe'. A couple brands of cereal, juice, a few pastries and toast, a waffle maker, and a few pieces of fruit (mostly apples), but no protein. All in all, for the value, I can't complain. Room was fine and the location and service were great, but a few relatively minor hotel details kept it from being excellent.
The staff was friendly. Easy access to the highway. Internet was very fast. Room clean and bed comfortable. Hotel is non smoking with free parking. Pet Friendly and an indoor pool. Microwave and refrigerator in room. Basics for breakfast.
We stayed at this property on 9/3/16 so we could go to Devils Tower the next day. Kind of expensive for what we got. $103.00 for a queen bed. This Econo Lodge was cleaner than the one we stayed in 2 nights later but I don't think I will stay at Econo Lodge in general unless desperate.
On arrival the staff was ready to attend to our getting settled into our rooms and allowed us access to very hot water so that we could prepare our food. The room was comfortable and clean. Very accommodating staff. Great value.
We recently stayed here on our road trip to Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse. The hotel was clean and tidy although some of the fittings are a little tired. The staff and service was of an acceptable standard. Breakfast was acceptable. Would highly recommend to the budget traveller.
The rooms are very clean, the staff was excellent, but the walls are so thin, I can hear every single door open and shut on the second floor! I paid less money for a better hotel last night this Queen room is overpriced at $125.40 especially for The Econo Lodge!
