Stayed at this hotel for one night on my way from NC to Chicago. I had originally booked a king suite for my mom and myself with reward points (this was the only type of room available on the website for points). On the drive, I received a call from the hotel asking about my reservation for a one bedroom because I have two beds selected in my stay preferences through IHG. When I explained that that was the only room option for points, she switched me to a two queen bed suite over the phone at no additional charge! The front desk staff was very welcoming (3 different employees came out to greet me at check in). They have 10% off coupons for the Texas Roadhouse across the street at the desk. My room was very satisfactory and breakfast the next morning was delicious and well stocked.
After traveling for hours from GA. I called the IHG reservations line to book a room at this HIE hotel..I told the women on the line I wanted to use my IHG points, she replied it will be 20K points to stay at this location tonight..I said okay..She said hold for your confirmation number..After 8 minutes she hung up on me..WoW. No call back either..So I called back and talked with Marie(New service rep.) I told her about the call before. Marie did apologize.. I made the exact same request to Marie.. After ten minutes on the phone she states, this hotel only allows two rooms a night for IHG points. However, Marie said she would call the hotel for an exception...please hold...Once Marie returned after 5min...and stated to me, I couldn't get an exception from the clerk Bayonca(not sure of the name spelling) I asked why is that? Are they sold out? No she stated, they have two rooms for IHG points and those two rooms were taken...(mind you a lot of my points came from staying at this very hotel..) After 27min with the reservation line I decided to call the hotel directly myself, I spoke with Bayonca she stated in a rude manner pretty much the same..however, she stated she did not have the power to grant the exception that would have to come from Misty her Manager and that Misty can't be reached. I explained to Bayonca I never encountered a problem using my Marriott reward points, they seem to spend like cash. I really need to reevaluate staying at IHG hotels in the dayton metro area, customer service is bad...
Booked a suite for my wife's 40th Birthday to see Gary Allan at nearby Rose Music Center. I am a Platinum Elite member and choose IHG as my hotel of choice on the road but will NEVER stay at this hotel again. I typically don't read reviews and this would be by first review ever. I did read some reviews before hand and should have listened and change hotels to the Hampton Inn located right next door. I really didn't pay much attention at check in and that was my first mistake. Received the keys and away I went, first floor at the end of the hall. Room door was slightly cracked open and upon entering I quickly realized that this was not the room that I booked. Overall housekeeping practices left a lot to be desired as well and I can only speculate on why the door was cracked but it definitely appeared to the gather place for some folks. Didn't even drop my bags and quickly returned to the from desk. After much confusion amongst 3 workers I was told that my original reservation was changed at the hotels discretion because apparently another guest(s) wanted a suite and apparently they were more important that I was. This didn't sit real well with me so after a few back and forths and basically telling me that a "sorry" was all that they could do, I reminded them that I was a platinum elite member and that I had hotel choices to make every week. It was at that point another suite became available, which is great but why did it have to get to that point? Now I look the disgruntled guests when I didn't do anything wrong in the first place. During our discussion of the room, the three employees acknowledged that another employee changed my reservation, mind you without anybody notifying me of this before or during my check in. It made me wonder how many other times had this been done and because the guests didn't challenge them it wasn't an issue? Read the reviews and I think it becomes fairly obvious that management needs to change here before this hotel will improve. Once we finally settle the room situation we headed off to get changed and head to our show. Room was overall in OK shape shape except for the huge hairball in the jetted tub....yep, paid the extra for a suite and my wife I elected not to use the jetted tub. By then it wasn't worth any more discussions with the front desk so we elected not to say anything. Highlight of the stay was the Gary Allan concert. Probably got over served at the show and had to be up and on the road back home by 7, my oldest had a "surprise" baseball game that morning. So I grabbed a cup of coffee the next morning and headed out, surely this hotel couldn't screw up coffee could they? Yes they could and yes they did, coffee wasn't even luke warm, mind you it was 7 where we left. Had it been at 9 when breakfast ends I could understand it. So, 1 star for me and I will never return. I will remain a loyal IHG member but this hotel needs an attitude makeover in a bad way.
I stayed at the here on May 20 for I night with my mother and Sister. I told them when I checked in I would be paying cash when I checked out. The attendant told me that would be fine and she would be there in the morning to check us out. I paid the 192.51 in cash (which I thought was way to much for a one night stay but this hotel was our only option) and I thought all was fine until I got my Discover bill on June 2. I called the hotel several times before a manger finally called me back. I have told my story several times to 2 different managers and I was to get a call back on May 19 have heard nothing. It seems that because they can't find that I paid cash, I am not telling the truth. I am very upset and will be filing a complaint with the BBB today. Don't stay at the hotel because taking care of the customer is not a priority. I called again yesterday and of course the mangers are busy left my name and number...No call back. Very disappointed. I faxed them the receipt I was given and still nothing from them. Stay away from this hotel. Someone stole the money I paid for this room and they charged it to my card. So now I am in the hole $385.02 (1 cash payment and (charge to my credit card)..If this is the only hotel option you have...PASS!
Went to a Willie Nelson Concert last year and stayed at this hotel. I WAS a Gold Member and previous Platinum member with Holiday Inn but after this stay I no longer stay with them - switched to Hyatt. The place was filthy and I tried to get out and get my money back but they just laughed at me. This was the worst Holiday Inn I ever stayed at an then after I stayed at another and it was just as bad. Don't ever stay here.
Our family booked two rooms for a mini-vacation in the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the complimentary breakfast had plenty of good hot and cold options. We were also impressed by the friendly staff who seemed eager to accommodate. The only negative was the ice cold pool water. We were told they are waiting for the new heater to arrive. This location is perfect if you have plans to attend an event at Rose Amphitheater in the Heights. It is just a few minutes away and an easy drive. There are also plenty of options for eating and shopping. We also took a trip to the Air Force Museum which is also a short drive.
We stayed here during the annual Hamvention amateur radio event (it's about 30 minutes away from the new venue.) Our room was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked better than in many hotels. The staff made a noticeable effort to be friendly. There were complimentary snacks in the afternoons---sometimes cookies, sometimes popcorn, sometimes fruit. Lots of restaurants and a movie theater nearby, and there's a Kroger across the street if you need it. Our only complaint was the breakfast. There were many choices and the staff was attentive, but the quality left a lot to be desired. Overall, however, this is a nice place to stay.
We came in at 1 in the morning very tired & weary from over 12+ hours of driving and were welcomed by Neil. He made sure we got our military discounts and that everything was taken care of. Also, Holiday Inn is one of the only ones that has a full serve breakfast. The best, food was hot cinnamon muffins, cheese omelets. I even saw the front desk make a run out to grocery store because a customer wanted hazelnut coffer creamer, and they went out out and go it!
Small but adequate hotel with fitness room and indoor pool. Rooms have microwave, fridge and Keurig single serve coffee maker. Breakfast included. For my stay breakfast was late, person must have been running late? Otherwise staff was friendly and great service.
This is the least conveniently located next to several restaurants, the Kroger grocery store, and the interstate. The facility is starting to show its age with some wear and tear. Service was average. The staff was cordial.
