I just wanted to rate the hotel but I have to write something, apparently.

We were pleased with the location of the hotel and with the breakfast offering. We also liked the proximity to restaurants and Walmart for convenient last minute shopping. We were, however, disappointed that the pool was out of commission for our stay and that this was not communicated at any time during booking or in the days leading up to our stay. This was a particularly disappointing element due to having children who were looking forward to a swim before dinner (how we bribed during the 3hr drive). The staff were awesome, amended our rate for the inconvenience, and made sure to bestow stickers and colouring supplies to our little ones. The air control in the room was very loud and had to be turned off for peaceful sleep. This did lead to a hot, uncomfortable room to wake up in. All in all it was a good stay, with a few tweaks needed in our experience. Certainly fine for one night.

Going back to my hometown for a high school reunion and wanted a place close to the event as well as close to Vandalia. This hotel was very convenient and also very clean. They said the hotel was fully booked that night, but I would have never known that because it was very quiet in the room.

Many restaurants near. Breakfast was the usual. No bar, and I needed one!

I came for a funeral. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The service was the best of any I have ever experienced. Professionalism at it's best.

I was there for business and the room was clean, comfortable bed and the staff was friendly. Great location right off of Highway 75 with plenty of places to eat close by.

Dayton Airshow, rainout but still had a blast! Will try again next year & will stay at the Hampton Inn!

Clean, newer hotel. Close to highway. Several restaurants nearby. Friendly staff.

Yo get exactly what you would expect at this price point. There are many hotels near by. This is the bottom of the sliding scale of choices.

My nephew and I drove in from Minnesota for a trip to see a friend for the weekend. We were tired after the twelve-hour drive, and the staff was nice and helpful with our late check-in, at around 7 pm. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with everything we needed. I like the little things at the Hampton, like outlets and a USB port right on top of the nightstand so you can easily charge your devices while you sleep. We got free wi-fi and parking too. The breakfast was good, with lots of options, and I really like making my own Belgian waffle. Way better than some commercial muffins and bagels at other hotels. We had full days of running around Dayton and got back at midnight to just crash. The beds were so comfortable, and the room staff even kept the light blanket on for me after cleaning instead of changing back to the heavy comforter. It was nice that they paid attention to how we wanted the room during our stay. We slept in our last day and needed a late check-out, they were great about that too. I stayed at this same hotel in Portland, Maine over the summer as well and it was wonderful then too. Great hotel.

The rooms where clean and the staff was on there game.
