Service was impeccable, amenities excellent, however balcony furniture stained, door handle overpainted. Room was comfortable but extremely overpriced for the dated era furnishings. TV channeling was ridiculously antiquated. Ritz, down the hill is a much better value I believe

We were very much impressed with our stay at MBR. Starting from the beautiful entrance , to the spectacular lounge area overlooking the ocean all the way to the beach made our stay so wonderful. Very relaxing, access to a variety of yoga and cycling classes. Overall I strongly recommend anyone to visit MBR.
With the resort fee you'd expect everything to be included. But they charge you little extras left and right :$40/day valet or $35/day self park, extra for almost every activity except biking/some yoga/ride to the beach, even cabanas by the pool (guess what: they were almost always unused). Seems like a really unnecessary ripoff for such a luxurious and beautiful hotel and left me with a bad taste.
Seriously this place is 5 star. This place is probably the nicest hotel I've ever seen right up there with montage Laguna beach if not better. I don't even know where to start with my compliments. The public spaces are breathtaking and the service here cannot be better. Whoever is training the staff here should be praised. The music in the bar is incredible. There is not one thing that is less than perfect at this place. If you are reading this and wondering if you will enjoy this place don't think twice... it is paradise.
